Here I was on my way to Queensland, Australia and yes, you heard right, Queensland, Australia. Now you must be wondering why an Arizona girl would fly to Queensland, Australia. Well, you see, my parents had unfortunately died in a car accident and their deaths were my gateway to Queensland, where I get the incredible pleasure of staying with my grandfather, who, by the way, I know nothing about. Hooray! I found it ridiculous, I mean I’m twenty-one, basically an adult, who can take care of myself. But this was my father’s dying wish and I wouldn’t dare to disappoint him, so here I was, sitting in an extremely uncomfortable plane next to an oversized man who all of a sudden started sweating buckets as he slept with his mouth open that howled loud snores. Just fucking great! Leaving my life back in Arizona was hard and honestly, I was scared, hell, I was terrified. Queensland was unknown to me, although it was my parents’ birth and hometown. But here I am on my own, traveling to a pla

Burning. That’s how my lungs felt as my legs exhaustedly carried me through the black hole known as the forest. Something was chasing me, something strong and fast. I could tell it was big, by the stomping of its heavy feet, or was it feet, I couldn’t tell, but all I knew is that if I stopped, I would die. So I kept going, I kept running even though my body was on the verge of collapsing, I just kept going. “You can’t escape from your destiny, Rosalie,” said the monstrous voice as they laughed with nothing but pure evilness laced with their tone. I was scared to death, the last thing I remembered was going to sleep and now, here I am running for my life. My destiny? What the hell does that mean? I wondered but at this point, it didn’t matter because I’d been running in circles for hours, and I could feel this creature getting closer and closer. My body felt sore from all the painful running and falling as the clothes on my body were torn and covered in dirt. My body was covered in

Everything seemed clear after the twins had shown Rosalie the place that was once dear to her parents. It was beautiful and she found peace within it. She was alone as the twins left to go to the market, something about selling coconuts, but Rosalie was glad to have some alone time. Instead of returning to the house, she decided to stay and enjoy the enchanting view. Sighing deeply, Rosalie crossed her legs as she thought back on the conversation she had with her grandfather. "Maybe it's not your time to feel him," What did that even mean, it was very confusing to Rosalie. “I mean, was it too much to ask for?" She wondered because that was all she ever wanted, closure, to feel her father's memorial presence, to dream about him, one last time before she finally accept that they were gone. But apparently, it was not her time yet, whatever that meant. Sighing heavily, the rain began to drizzle as Rosalie leaned forward on the rock, she was sitting on to look at her reflection in

Giovanni stumbled behind a wide cedar trunk, deep into the forest as he ran to hide the beast that was trying to rip through his flesh. Heart slamming against his ribs, he gulped at the air, trying to slow his breathing enough to hear before a thrusting pain shot him back through the forest. The night was chilly as the wind howled, crickets chirped, and the fallen leaves rustled as Giovanni's bare feet sprinted through them. It was pitch black but the moonlight gave it a haunted effect rubbing suspicion of hidden creatures for any regular person to be terrified of. Buckets of sweat layered on Giovanni's upper body as it overheated. His hair was no longer in a neat ponytail simultaneously flying in the wind as he continued to run. It was like every normal afternoon coming from the market, when all of a sudden Giovanni felt that all too familiar sharp pain growing in his abdomen before it then shot up his spine causing his legs to give out, forcing him to the floor groaning in pain.

Driving through Northern Queensland was peaceful, with all the windows down, the refreshing cool breeze, and the breathtaking sight. Rosalie felt relaxed with her legs bent and elbow resting on the window as she peacefully tried to capture every passing moment. Melody was in love. She fell in love with the familiar yet different presence of Rosalie. She was so much like her father that it scared Melody. She always thought that Rosalie would be a tough cookie to crumble, which she was to other people, but Melody knew and raised her other half, making it effortless to read Rosalie. Rosalie is a quiet person, but her curiosity overpowers her. She was attentive and observant, something that the Gracias were gifted with, reading people and situations was a skillful trait of the family. She was cunning and sly like her father and grandfather but had a sassy and defensive personality that reminded Melody of her best friend and Rosalie's mother. Cassandra, Rosalie's grandmother, and Melody

Anxiousness was an understatement compared to what Rosalie felt as she stood in front of the unfamiliar house. Just like Melody had said, she took Rosalie to her grandparent’s house the same people that disowned her mother and caused her to flee from her home, she needed an explanation. She remembered how her mother used to talk about her parents, and although she seemed sad, you still could’ve seen how much she loved them. So this was something that Rosalie knew she had to do, have a connection with her grandparents, for her mother’s sake.Coming here was a task after the news was broken to Benjamin. He was furious and forbid his granddaughter from going, but Rosalie had already put her foot down and declared that she was going, leading Benjamin to wheel away and Melody running after him.Genesis had heard everything and approached Rosalie with a frown on his face, “Those people were terrible to your parents, why would you try and reconnect with them?” He asked, “You know nothing abo

Rosalie had fallen asleep reading her mother’s journal after she had arrived home and gone up to her bedroom. It was a long day yesterday, and she just wished it was all a dream, but it wasn’t because it was a nightmare. Morning arrived as she woke up. It was early as she remained in bed staring up at the ceiling, thinking about past events. She never expected this, she expected her parents to go through this type of struggle, it was just the tip of the iceberg. Recalling her mother’s words that she relived last night caused mixed emotions to bottle up inside of her as she thought about the woman who raised her and the woman that wrote that journal. In her eyes, they weren’t the same person, and it was sad. It pained Rosalie to read and know what her mother had gone through, what she felt, and how tired she was. She had enormous demons breathing down her neck, one being her mother, who cared for everything but her daughter’s emotions, and well-being. She was selfish and only cared

“Did you believe him?” Rosalie asked, “Although Marcus caused great pain to this family, I don’t think he had anything against James to the point of his death,” she said as Rosalie remained silent, it wasn’t her place to suspect anything, she wasn’t there, but she was curious about Marcus, who was he? Sighing heavily, Rosalie forcefully swallowed as she watched as they got closer to the market. Parking the car, Melody shuts off the car before unbuckling her seatbelt, “Here we are,” she said turning to Rosalie, who seemed lost in thought. Sighing, Melody pressed the buckle on Rosalie’s seatbelt snapping her back to reality, “Don’t worry too much about those stories, Rosalie, besides, no one hardly sees Marcus, besides his children,” she said before opening her door causing Rosalie to turn to her, “Who’s his children?” She asked, “Mateo and Cora,” she said before closing the door. Again, Rosalie’s mind was clouded with thought as she wondered who these people were. Has she met them?

Rosalie stumbled back when she thought she heard a heavy growl, but she guessed it was just her clouded mind as she looked from Giovanni’s darkened yet smug face to Cora, who glared at her before smirking satanically."This isn't over," she said before leaning forward as her hand suddenly shoved the glasses of herb oil off the table shattering them on the floor. Rosalie gasped, and jump back, while Giovanni glared at Cora, who blew him a kiss before leaving."Oh my god, this is bad, Mel will be-"Rosalie, relax, Mel will understand, Cora was just being bitch," he said, holding her shoulders as she looked up at him, "Why did you kiss me?" She asked as he sighed, "Just- just forget about it, okay," he said, Rosalie removing his hand, scoffing lowing before shaking her head, "Fine, whatever, but at least help me with this," she said bending down to clean the mess that Cora caused with Giovanni's help.As they were cleaning, Giovanni stood up to throw away his portion of glass when sudden

Rosalie had practically ignored Giovanni's confession, rolling her eyes to seem uninterested, but inside she didn't know how to feel. Genesis sensed the growing tension and immediately changed the topic, "I'm bored, how about we go diving off the waterfall?" He asked as Rosalie's eyes widened, "Hell no, you can go, I'll happily watch you jump to your death," she said earning an eye roll before Genesis swam over to her. "No! Put me down, Genesis!" She yelled, kicking her feet as Genesis carried her to the waterfall with Giovanni trailing behind them. He was pissed, he knew Rosalie heard and understood what he said, but she chose to ignore it and it hurt. Watching how easily she got along with his twin made him jealous and curious to know what made him so different, what did he do to be treated so differently? "Please, Gen, I don't want to do this, I'm not good with heights," she begged as they reached the bottom of the waterfall, where he placed her on the ground of a cave before pu
