Makeshift ideas
Tomaz has Nova who has now gone uncincious in his arms. He flaps his long wings, flying straight up, before going in a straight line. Celia waits a couple seconds to see if he'll turn back to say that the air has the same effect in the sky as the ground, but he never does. She motions to the group to keep walking, Tessa draggin the hostage. At this point, Celia considers just abandoning the girl. She's as good as dead here in the chemically filled city, no use in dragging around a corpse. Just as Celia was going to give the order to abandoned the hostage, something in the distance caught her attention. A dart embedded into the side of Tessa, causing her to drop to the floor instantly. Celia ducked down, ordering the others to watch out for stray darts as more continued to rain down on them. Jonathan darted forward and grabbed Celia by her forearm, swears coming out of his mouth. As they ran, she made sure to usher the others ahead of her. Her body was more immun

Lines crossed
Astra's POV:The boy had crossed a line. Astra swiped at her hair from her eyes, stomping angrily in the van. Her shoes clicked, and the van stopped back at HQ. Dr. Rogers was still gone. He had gotten out from the meeting with the Higher Ups and promptly disappeared. No one knew where he was, including Astra. But she wasn't worried about that for the moment. The boy. That was her biggest concern. Somehow he had known about Lu, enough to bring her up in this moment for their chance to escape. Astra slammed her palm against the inner wall of the van, pressing her fingernails in the stopper of the tube in her pocket. Celia's own personal trigger scent. She should have used it then. But the shock had glued to the ground. Squeezing the little test tube, she glared out through the front window. She wouldn't hesitate the next time.Celia's POVExhaustion is what made her black out. After everyone was accounted for, she didn't go to where they had

Level up
Celia's POV When she awakens, it's to the sound of screams being heard. Celia is up in a flash, throwing off the blankets from her body, the screams not that far from her. It's Jonathan, and it looks like he's fighting a strange creature thing. Something about it looks familiar to Celia, but she wastes no time as she feels her body already moving, her silver fangs snapping in warning, a growl emitting from the center of her chest. The creature overpowers Jonathan, and he's on his back. Celia jumps, colliding with the creature, causing it to fall face forward, as Jonathan scrambles back. Celia is ready to kill it, yanking the creature's head in an odd angle, when a shout catches her attention. "It's Nova!" Jonathan screams, and Celia strikes the back of Nova's head, causing her tor crumble, and black out. There is not a time for peace around here. Celia has Tessa tying Nova up the way they had their hostage, Nova's mouth firmly gagged. Tomza looks startled at the sight of Nova

So many uncertainties
Celia's POVShe has been overthinking. Nova hasn't gotten better. It's like instead of her body rejecting the process, it has amplified her humanity. Which makes no sense. Her mouth froths as she tries to fight off the rope that keeps her tied to Tessa, the gag almost slipping off. Jonathan always looks worried, and each time Celia is alone with Nova, Jonathan isn't too far away. He probably thinks I'll kill her, she thought, and honestly...she had considered it. Nova didn't act like herself, hell, she didn't even look like herself, and she seemed to lose her words. She made feral, angry sounds, always close to biting off the finger of Tessa when it was time to eat. And it would be an act of mercy, rather than a fight to survive type of situation. But Jonathan looked after Nova stubbornly, refusing to even consider it. As Celia wandered, her eyes scanned the area with a sense of wariness. It was best to not get too comfortable really anywhere. As long as th

On the contrary, just stay wary
Astra's POVShe was losing her mind as she sat in the usual meet up, an old time cigarette dangling from her fingers. The smoke calmed her, and she took her time with it, knowing that this old time thing had costed a fortune since it was something no longer made. Sometimes, old was good, even better than new. In the thicket of nowhere, Astra sat in a wood cabin that was so old, it slanted on it's side. No source of technology was in it, and no electricity for that matter either. This was a safe little place of nowhere away from prying eyes, and her work. A bird sounded then, the call stark, and sharp, and Astra sat up straight, crushing the cigaretter under her heel. A few moments later, quiet steps sounded, and a figure landed in the seat next to Astra. "You're getting better at that. But I still heard you at the last moment." Astra commented, sliding a cup of lemonade to her guest. "If you were my enemy, you wouldn't even know what hit you." the guest replied

The hunt
Celia's POV Celia decides to let Tessa have a break. After all, she's also a highly skilled hunter. And someone needs to watch over Jonathan, as something in her told her that he had no experience whatsoever. But who knows, he could always surprise her. At the news, Jonathan's face falls, and he walks up to Celia. She can tell that he's nervous about her being alone with Nova, but she promises no harm will come unto her-at least from Celia anyway. She can't really speak for the damage Nova does for herself. As they depart early in the morning, Celia sits across from Nova who's asleep on her back. Her arms are in front of her, bounded by rope, her ankles tied together. Nova twitches, and groans, before opening her eyes and snarling at Celia. It makes Celia feel like her hackles are raised, and she snarls back, flashing her metal canines at the girl. Nova blinks, sitting up then, as she scoots herself to the closest tree, a growl rumbling from her. Celia can't re

And then...
Celia's POVBabysitting Nova is much calmer than having to fight for her life. Of course, now and then, Nova lashes out at her, growling and still struggling in her bindings. Celia lets Nova act out, until she sees the blood. Once the red makes it into view. Celia dumps a bucket of water on Nova which calms her. No words are spoken between them, and more than once Celia wondered what Nova was thinking. She was so calm now, but what about the other times? When she thought that Celia was a threat? What did she want to say? And could she? Celia was frustrated, and it made her feel funny that she couldn't understand Nova. Meanwhile, Nova was slowly becoming more tamed. She didn't try to break free as much, and let Celia help her out to the restroom, or to wash up. But other than that, no words. Celia glanced at the sky, watching out for Tomaz, and the others to come back with food. Her stomach growled, and even Nova's did too. Going into one of the tents,

Enough is enough
Astra's Pov She craves a cigarette. Astra knew that smoking the real paper cigarettes besides the electronic ones was a better deal. She's become addicted to them, which kind of relieves her; it's a different feeling from the usual grief, revenge, or hatred from herself that she feels. Astra craves a cigarette because not only is she addicted-but the others have escaped. The last coordinates were in a camp, and as the Officers had arrived, it was empty. Not a trail, nothing was left to track. Her own mole had figured out how to take his tracker which was very impressive. She doesn't hold any ill will, though. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she had a small hope that they would escape. Astra knew her character was difficult to understand, and really her priorities were getting twisted. Thought she wanted the System and the Testing to break in pieces and finally be destroyed by her hand, her concerns for her last living daughter was making it more difficult to see it

Book 2: Yet I'm still standing
Celia's POV They sneak around the area, Celia on the ground, and Tomaz flying in the sky. Celia is flanked by Nova on her left, and Jonathan on her right, Tessa bringing up the rear. She had explained to both Nova and Jonathan that this was it. This was the fight that would either finish them, or finish the end. "People will die." she had told them both, making sure she locked eyes so they could see how serious she was. She waited to see them flinch, or to back out, but they nodded their head in unision, accepting their fate and their consequences. In a way, Celia was disappointed; she hadn't wanted them to agree so quickly. She wanted them to think about it like the humans they were. Not like the killing machines they were becoming. They were nearing the entrance, a single guard at the gate. Celia motioned for Tessa to take him down, her nodding as she quickly knocked him unconcious. This seemed too easy. Why did they have only one guard at the fr

Not as planned
Astra's POVThey're coming in faster than Astra would like, ordering Lu to leave wherever Rogers was holding her hostage. Lu tries to tell her that she had no idea where she's at, before Astra hangs up, focusing on the cameras again. She sees two Officers drag off the boy with wings, taking him to the hospital side, and Astra frowns. Whatever those Officers have in mind, it isn't part of her plan. She then sees Jonathan run after them, lights flashing, and if the cameras had audio, she'd probably hear the sound of him beating on them. Jonathan emerges with the boy with wings, supporting his weight as he runs back the way he came. Other Officers burst into the scene, rushing to evict the intruders, their taser sticks flashing brightly. They have no guns this time, only sporting the volts, as though Astra does want them captured, she wants them alive. Rogers is out of the picture and the Higher Ups are too busy scrambling to perfect their Main City. Astra was callin
