Chapter 31
Emily's POV;"You're so lucky to have gotten this job." Emily stated as she watched Derek pace around the room."It is a position I've been seeking since I became part of Stiles' college team, but it's going to be hard getting back into shape in such a short time. Especially if I want to keep my scholarship." He stated before pausing his pacing and turning towards me."Have you thought about any places for us to live?" he questioned.I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair. "Well...my brother is thinking about taking over his old room at Beacon Hills Community College." Derek nodded and looked down, biting his lip. "And there's a dorm in town that was recently opened, they had no problem accepting him so we could take the room, if that's what you need." Derek looked up at me and gave me a genuine smile."That sounds perfect, thank you so much." He hugged me and placed a soft kiss on my forehead. "Do I need to call the other person we talked to about it?"I shook my head and smiled. "

Chapter 32
Emily's POV; Monday, November 5th It had been a long day. I'd finally managed to get my last two classes out of the way and now it was all over. As per usual, Emily was the first one back at school with her books in hand, just as she always is. However, unlike every other week, she didn'e have anyone waiting for her. She didn't know why exactly but she was kinda disappointed. She would have thought after how busy her day had been that she'd have at least one person waiting for her, or if not that at least someone watching over her. The only people who really did that were either family members or their significant others who are constantly by her side. It's a habit of theirs to watch over each other. Of course Emily wasn't expecting any one particular person waiting at the school gates for her today. After all what kind of person would they be?Emily was surprised that no one else was there when she reached the gates. She couldn't even see anyone standing around in the yard but some

Emily's POV;I'm currently in the middle of my fourth semester in college, and I've only been here for a few days. To make up for it though, Emily has already started spending most of her time with her friends and family, including her parents. As a result, she hasn't seen much of them. But they have already told her all about the new baby girl. Her name is Sophia, and according to them, she looks exactly like me. Of course, that doesn't stop me from worrying, even if my parents assured me that everything was okay, I still couldn't help but feel anxious whenever I heard anything about new babies being born.I was now sitting at home by myself. My best friend, Emily Prentiss had gone on her last two dates with her boyfriend, Ryan. After that date had ended, she hadn't really seen him again since. Not like this. He had left her messages on her phone and sent her several pictures, but he hadn't called. When she finally got around to responding to his message, he seemed completely uninter

Chapter 34
Emily's POV;A week had passed since she'd seen her best friend in months and the whole time she felt like someone had ripped a hole right through her chest. Even when they were together, it was different somehow. Emily tried to make conversation as much as possible, but the conversations never really went anywhere. It was like everything inside of her just stopped functioning and her mind was stuck on one track: how can I see him again? He probably didn't even remember me. She shook that thought out of her head because there were no other logical possibilities. Her mind was set on seeing Ryan again and there was no way she could turn back now.It wasn't until Emily walked into work the next morning that she realised something was wrong with herself for thinking this. There was something wrong with the way she was acting. She wasn't sure what it was, but something about this whole situation felt off. Her first day at work went by without incident, but that didn' stop her from thinking

Chapter 35
Emily's POV;"We are here, Miss Em!" The driver announced as the car came to a stop. I stepped out and walked around the back of the car, following my brother through the door and up the stairs. I heard a few doors slam open from inside of the house, but didn' mind it at all."What about our room?" I asked him once we were inside. We had been staying with my uncle since I was eight and he had offered us a room for two days so that we would have a place to stay in case we ever did need to go somewhere else. We had only been staying here for a couple weeks, however, so there was still quite some time until my Uncle would be able to get us home again. My brother looked around, before grabbing my hand and leading me to what we assumed was where the bedrooms were. He pushed open the first door and let me go through first. As soon as I was standing inside, I closed the door behind me, letting my eyes adjust to the dim lighting.I took in the room for a moment. It wasn't very big, but it was

In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. You will be able to laugh and know that nothing will ever come between you and me. No one can see! Because we are too far away, we too far apart….I am here. And there is no one but me. But then again, there is never anyone but me. The world is always my own. There are many things I want you to know about me. The world is mine. So much more than just this place. This place has been my home for years now. I have made it beautiful. I have made it great. Emily's POV;I am in the middle of my daily routine. I have just been out running with a client, so it seems like no one wants to hire me for anything. That would be fine if this whole thing weren't so annoying. The clients that I do end up working with are not the nicest and they don' want a dog in their office because "we need to get our hands dirty." It's really annoying that some people treat you like an animal. I just want to get paid for what I do and leave as soon as possible. I have about five seconds left on my run when someone calls out my name. "Hey Emily!" A voice called. Oh god please let it be just another client. They know better than to interrupt me while running. I continue running and make sure not to look at anyone in case it's actually another customer. As I finish my run and turn around the man who shouted my name walks towards me. He looks familiar but for the life of me I can' remember where I have seen him before. "Hi, is there a reason why you're talking to me

Emily's POV;It had been three years since the last time I'd seen my mother in person. Three long, painful years of being stuck with a family that hated my guts and only cared about themselves. The last time we were all together was the first time her husband died. The day they buried him. It was the first anniversary that her son was born. He had a name, Henry, but she always called him Little Henry. After that, she refused to talk to me. She ignored me for months at a time. I would get calls from other people, telling me to please just come home already. It wasn't fair on anyone, least of all me, so I would go back home, pretending it didn't bother me at all.The one person who did speak to me for real is Henry. My brother. He was seven when we moved in, and he was everything to me, even though I tried hard not show it. After my mother disappeared, I couldn't find myself caring enough to take care of Henry. So I put up walls between us and I never spoke to him. He became friends wit

Chapter 39
Emily's POV;"Good morning, Mr. Matthews!" I smiled at Mr. Matthews, who looked up and nodded his head. He gave me a warm smile as well, but it was strained. There were bags under his eyes like he'd been up all night.I had to say something though, so that my boss could start the day."It's very nice to see you again," I said kindly, giving him another bright smile."You too, Emily. It looks like you're doing just fine on your own without me," he said with genuine relief in his voice.Mr. Matthews had taken over from Mr. Holts a couple of months back, and was the only one that didn't make fun of me for having a job. In fact, we actually got along pretty well. That is, he wasn't rude, or mean, which was more than anyone else that worked there had. He was just...a little distant, I guess you could say. I don't know why everyone treated him differently than the rest of us. He was a good boss, a really good boss even! If anyone deserved the praise and respect, it should be Mr. Matthews.T

Chapter 40
Emily's POV;When I arrived back at home, the house felt oddly empty. Not that I hadn't ever spent an evening here before (I had) but for some reason it felt different this time. I could hear Emily's laughter downstairs and I knew her parents were still out on another date. The door creaked open softly as I stepped inside. It was just past midnight. A light in the living room caught my attention. Emily was sitting in a chair next to the fireplace, a book in her lap. Her hair was slightly down, which is what had drawn my attention first."Emily?" I asked quietly as I walked into the room. My daughter looked up quickly at my approach and smiled."Hey Mom," she greeted me as I sat down on the couch. "How was your date?" She teased, making my cheeks heat up."It wasn't a date," I said defensively."So you admit it was a date?" I heard my mom calling from the kitchen and sighed."Yes," I responded after a moment of silence. "But not because I'm embarrassed or anything. They were good compa
