Lyne rode her horse gently towards the people's residence as they crossed the green fields. The sun was just rising and her wardrobe maid had been wise enough to choose light wear for her that morning, knowing how sunny the day will be. She wore a white robe over a blue gown and a golden belt around her waist, not fixing it too tightly because of her stomach. Zeidan rode right beside her and he looked handsome in his black royal robe, spread over his white horse and a golden cap-like crown that had initials engraved on it in rubies. He looked exquisite and all royalty. "I think it's a good idea you asked us to come here." Zeidan began to say as they saw houses from afar coming into view.Various guards fell in behind them, some of their carts bearing bags of food, fruits, and plenty of amenities needed by the bottom feeders."It is essential. This is exactly what they need after the attack. Just for them to know we have them in mind.""I hope so."Gradually, they arrived at the squa

Lyne walked through the hallway that led to the palace when she heard a guard run-in with a scroll in hand."Your Highness." He bowed. "We have visitors from South Park. The Alpha and his entourage are here."Lyne stiffened and she stood behind the door immediately, trying to peep and hear the purpose of her Father's visit. Had he heard about her pregnancy and wanted to come? She didn't want to tell him just yet for he might be extremely worried and take her away from Zeidan with force until the war is over. She feared greatly for that. Styx walked in majestically, his silver and black robe sweeping behind him on the floor. His hair had grown shoulder length and she wondered when last he had a haircut. He made his way towards Zeidan who sat on his throne looking all royalty. Looking up at his guests, he closed the papers he had glanced at and passed them to a eunuch beside him who bowed and walked out. Speaking of guests. Charles walked in from behind her father, dressed in black ro

Zeidan ran a hand over her face. "I had no idea."Lyne shook her head. "It wasn't you. I knew it was a Werecat but only after he said terrible things.""What got you so fired up about this? Why were you running from me?" Zeidan asked.Lyne froze, her eyes tearing up again and he pulled her in for an embrace, her face buried in his shirt."Tell me, honey."Lyne began in muffled voices but he cooed her until she was stable enough to talk."I..." She began. "Look, they were all terrible things.""So, you won't tell me?" Zeidan asked."I will.""Then tell me.""I wonder if you think the same way. But seeing how much it will hurt me, you wouldn't want to be truthful and tell me that's what you think."He pulled both of his wife's hands and looked into her eyes, heart heavy. What the hell did that idiot tell her?"What is it?" Zeidan asked. "I promise to be truthful. You keeping it in your mind won't solve anything.""He said, I was just...he accused me of knowing about Wikh's escape and th

Lyne ordered the carriage to stop right at the bridge that was being repaired by laborers. It's been weeks since they started but from the look of things, it didn't look like they could finish it soon. So much for building, a much stronger bridge with gates. She climbed down and the cold evening wind hit her in the face. Lyne shuddered. The weather looked like it will soon rain and it's normal since they were in November. The torrential downpours that had hit Vampire City over the last few weeks had caused the progress of the bridge construction to be slow. At least today, it was going to rain towards the end of the day, when the workers can be back in their shelters. And then she spotted her husband at the end of the bridge, giving orders to a man who had on a helmet and his jacket was covered in sand and it was evident he was the supervisor. He wore a black shirt, with the top slightly unbuttoned and he had his two hands dug in his pockets. He looked tall and manly with his hair b

Her head bent over stacks of paperwork that morning, a knock sounded on the door to the drawing room once. Low and short. Then the second was loud, and she was forced to look up into the eyes of a little boy wearing a grey coat that had been patched all over with some buttons missing. Spiky hair and dark innocent eyes. He looked different and especially with the coat, she barely recognized him. "Hey. Brady, it's you. Come here."He walked in, hesitatingly and looked around the large room that looked ancient with the red expensive tufted rug, high shelves placed against the walls of the room, papers stacked on a table in the corner and there was one executive table and chair where she sat with two chairs across. The boy came closer soon and bowed slightly, eyes still moving about with his mouth wide open."How're you doing, Brady?" She asked, a smile plastered on her face."Took you three months to honor our invitation."Brady finally looked at her from the corner of his eyes before
