Author.Adan slips inside the limousine car and shrugs his formal suit. He had a tiresome day with all the meetings arranged back-to-back in absence of his father. Again, one more meeting was assigned out of his office building. It was one of his illegal businesses."Where?" Adan asked absentmindedly when Ivan sat beside him and shut the door of the car. The wheels rolled down on the road and Adan stared out of the window. Why but for a second, he felt detest at Ivan's presence when the poor soul had done nothing but faithfully serviced him.He was never a man to get riled up over a woman especially after what happened to Alex. His elder brother lost his life after falling for a wrong woman. Yet he was undeniably attracted to her. And she was different."Sizzling casino. We have to crack the diamond deal." Ivan answered checking his meeting schedule and then locked his cell phone and shoved in his pocket. Adan didn't speak because he was only physically present and his mind was somew

Author."Add one cup sugar." Jane suggested to which Micaela faked a deadly glare to shut her mouth while whipping the egg in the bowl.Jane rose her hands in the air in surrender. "Fine, I'm leaving.""Much better." Micaela affirmed with a shrug mimicking the way Jane does usually. When Jane walks out of the kitchen, she exhaled a sigh of relief and continued her work. It was afternoon and cold breeze flying the curtains. She breath deeply as the wind caress her skin. She likes the feeling. It gives a kind so surreal peace and contentment in her heart. After making sure she had whipped the eggs properly, she darted her eyes over the shelves in search of flour and vanilla essence. Then she remembered Aunt Mary stored the grocery she bought this morning from the market in the upper shelves. She kept the bowl on the kitchen counter and pulled the tool. She stood up on the tool and opened the wooden lids of the shelves. Picking up the flour packet and vanilla essence, she got down and

Author.Micaela felt so disappointed, not on him but rather on her own self. She felt hatred to let her heart open up for a person who didn't give a second thought before accusing of a crime she hadn't committed.Yes, she was gradually developing liking towards him. But one incident and everything changed. How did he turn to a judge and she being his hostage?Never in these months had she ever thought that a day would come when he will show this scary side of him. A day she never thought in her wildest dream to come alive.Micaela swept her eyes around the room. The room was dark with only a small fraction of moonlight coming through the window. Adan brought her back in the mansion. But not in the room but in their basement where they tortured criminals. When she ran outside the hospital building, she had no clue where she was going but one thing was in her mind and that she needs to fled. Hardly had she crossed the main gate, a black SUV car stops right in front and she hunched for

Author.Adan approached near her and she flinched back against the chair, scared. He continued staring at her for some time. His face had a guilty look. He lowers down her level and Micaela felt his hands on the rope of her right wrist. He tugged and undid the rope. She winced at the discomfort and pain. Then her both hands were free."Get up." Adan said calmly. Gradually Micaela rose up form her seat while her fearful eyes were watching him. What was he going to do to her now? She wasn't the culprit then what he wants from her."Go. You are free. Take some rest." Adan spoke staring directly into her eyes.Micaela couldn't believe her luck. She was stunned. She thought that she would never make out of the basement. That she would die while staying here one day."W... What?" Micaela asked clearly not believing him."You heard me right. You are free. Go back to your room and sleep." Micaela could see the sincerity in his eyes and he was actually letting her go. Freeing her.So, he t

She was thinking something and then node her head in understanding. She smiled reluctantly.“If you want to leave, we will not stop you.” Madam Camila spoke finally. “But before you take the decision, I want to talk with you. So, come to my room, now.” She turned her heels and glanced at Adan. Adan stood still with blank face looking ahead not matching eyes with his mother. Giving a look she began climbing the stairs.I rose up from my seat and began walking towards her room. As I was approaching the stairs I could feel a distinguished pair of eyes set on me. I don’t need to look up to confirm. Since the day we met he would always make me uncomfortable with his soul piercing stares. Wherever I go his hawk like gaze would follow my every move.My legs felt wobbly, I was feeling nervous with each passing st
