A human in the pack

THIRD PERSON'S POV "There's a male human in the Packhouse?!" Luther gasped, eyes almost popping out in shock. It was the most outrageous news he'd expected to get this morning. "Yes," The woman replied with a bow. His spy. She'd showed up at his house a few minutes ago with the little gossip. "How did that happen? How did he get in? What is Jordy doing about his intrusion?" "Nothing. He only asked that the human be released and brought to his room." "What?!" Luther flared up. "Why would Jordy give such an outrageous order?" "I think the human is his friend," "A human friend? That's fucking ridiculous." Luther took a drag from his cigarette and puffed the smoke upwards. The gossip was churning and sizzling. Trying to fuck with his head. A random human showed up outside the Packhouse. The sentinels beat him up and dragged him to the dungeon at first. But later on, they had to release him and take him to Jordy's room. It all seemed too shady. He was missing out on the

A sign

KING ARLO'S POV I threw another dart and it hit Bullseye again, making it the fourth. I grabbed another, aiming for the fifth and trying again to picture Luther's hideous face. I've never been this great at the dart game. Never hit the bullseye thrice in a game. It was one game I severely got my ass whooped in. And it made no sense because hitting the bullseye required a million concentration, practice, and innate skills. I wasn't exactly lacking much in those three categories but for some reason, darts remained my nightmare. Up until today. Frustrated about not getting any replies from Jordy, and worried about her Alpha coronation being in a couple of days, I was restless. I strolled down to my leisure room which used to be a lot more fun than this, with the billiard boards, cycling spot, and a lot of stuff in here. The dart board called out to me and I gave it a try. I pictured Luther's face, fantasizing that what I had in my hand was a dagger and the bullseye was his

Pains and regret

MESSIAH JORDY'S POV Mother broke into a sob for the umpteenth time, but quickly dabbed at her tears. "I'm sorry," her voice was croaky from how much she'd been silently crying. I was too broken to comfort her. Neither did I blame her for her emotional slips. I might not be sobbing like she was, but I was still a tad away from breaking down into tears. Father had a seizure. A more severe one than the last. We already invited a modern doctor of the neighboring Pack to attend to him. They've been locked in Father's chambers all morning. Mother and I insisted on sticking around but we got shooed away. Probably because Mother was crying too much and the doctor found it distracting. We tried to get her to quiet down but when we couldn't, the doctor asked us to excuse them. Being out here didn't make her cry any less. Nah, on the contrary, it triggered more tears from her eyes and made her grow more restless. "Do you think he's alright, Jordy?" She turned to me in tears.

Intense love making

MESSIAH JORDY'S POV "Jordy." His voice. His unique, unnerving but mesmerizing voice. The husky effect was graced with a soothing ripple that gave raw, real chills. Hearing it again felt too good to be true. I did another double-take of him, just to make sure this was a reality. Not my eyes playing wicked tricks on me. Seeing him created chaos in my heart, digging up all the sadness I bottled up for weeks. I felt the sorrow thrashing down on me harder than ever. My heartbeat raced. My eyes stung. I was heaving. And down the tears came, unabatedly. "Leave!" He growled. And just then, I realized the Omega was still around. She scurried away and he shut the door. His arms beckoned at me. But I needed some kind of approval to go to them. I wanted an invitation. I wanted him to say something. Anything. But he was static. Still, my tears wouldn't stop coming down. I couldn't take it anymore and so I went to him. Raced right into his arms, holding him so tight. He wrappe

Betrayal

MESSIAH JORDY'S POV I woke up to find big, muscular arms wrapped around me, a heavy leg resting on mine, and eyes watching me with a mix of emotions. Our faces were just an inch apart, so I could feel his breath on my skin. Arlo. He looked hotter than ever with his tousled hair and slightly plump lips from our rough kisses last night. For a moment, I wondered if everything that happened last night was just a dream. But seeing his eyes on me and breathing in his intoxicating scent sent a wave of relief through my body. "Good morning, beautiful," he smiled. "What's on your mind?" It had been so long since I heard his voice in the mornings. Extra deep. Groggy. Husky. "Nothing," I shook my head. "Just…just wondering if all that last night was a dream." "What?" Amusement ran through his eyes. "You get fucked that hard in dreams? Really? Who's that guy?" "Arlo!" I swatted his arm, giggling at his naughtiness. But my cheeks burned crimson. I sure have missed him. His jea

All her life

KING ARLO'S POV Jordy seemed lost in some foggy daze and it's been a couple of minutes already but she was yet to say a word. Or even blink. She'd gone flat-out frozen. I snapped my fingers in her face and pinched her cheek. Her head turned to me like a remote robot. "Did you hear any part of what I said?" "I did." She breathed out, staring blankly at me. Then a long line of tears dropped, taking me aback a bit. "But God, it's hard to accept. Zoey wouldn't ever do that to me. She wouldn't." Her words struck a nerve. "So you're saying I'm lying?" "No. You can't be. And that's why I feel this conflicted and dejected and…" more tears rushed out of her eyes, and she paused to wipe at them. My slight anger vanished. She wasn't trying to defend Zoey as always. She was just struggling to face the truth, that Zoey had also betrayed her. I gave her time to calm down and then she continued. "How do I bring myself to believe this? How do I wrap my head around the fact that

Caught up in sin

THIRD PERSON'S POV Ivan checked his wristwatch again, sighing and slouching in his seat. His gaze traveled to the fenced walls of Orlando's residence, making him huff. It's been an hour since he sat out here, right opposite their gate. Waiting. Still, no sign of Zoey. Going inside wasn't an option. This wasn't his Pack, and he wasn't acquainted with the girl. All he knew about her were the photos Arlo showed him of the girl and the conversations she had with the thug. He didn't know her personally enough to go inside their house and demand to see her. So sitting out here was the only way, even though his butt was getting numb from sitting too long. Two hours and thirty minutes. Ivan wasn't having it anymore. He turned on the ignition, ready to head back to the Packhouse. Arlo would have to come up with another strategy to see and talk to the Zoey girl. Because this 'waiting' strategy was a huge flop. Just about the same second, their massive iron gate was opened and a ca

A note

THIRD PERSON'S POV "Say that again. One more time. Go slower. It better not sound as ridiculous as it sounds right now. Or I swear to God, I'll stick my claws right into your measly heart." Luther sputtered out furiously, sending a heated reverberation through the halls of his house. The Omega Maid shuddered and bowed even lower. "I'm telling you the truth —" "Which of them is the truth?" Luther countered, stalking her with deadly steps. Saying he would stick his claws into her wasn't a bluff. He meant every bit of it. "The fact that Arlo returned last night, or…?" "Both, Beta Luther." She whimpered, keeping her head lowered. "Quit playing with me!" He growled, pulling her up and smashing her hard against the wall. She shrieked, recoiling from pain but he held her up, gritting his teeth with murderous intentions. "I'm telling you the truth, Beta Luther!" She cried. "I wouldn't dare mess with you." "You are already messing with me. What you just said is crazy. Jord

A Bad Girl

KING ARLO'S POV "I'm so glad you returned, Son." Luna Cora gushed, amidst the tears tainting her tired face. She hugged me again, and then gave me another kiss on my forehead. "It's good to see you again, Ma'am." I smiled. She nodded with a more hearty smile, still cupping and caressing my face. "It's good to see you too, son. So good." She kissed my forehead again. It was a bit smoldering but I loved every bit of it. I kept my smile civil and my face void of emotions but my heart was wriggling in pain. Luna Cora looked agonized. A withered mess. A complete shadow of herself. It was fucking understandable. Her mate was on the verge of death. She knew that and was literally counting down to the second when she'd lose him. She had every reason to look so miserable but it hurt me to see her this way. It was breaking me into bits. Right now, I couldn't help but hate myself for leaving. I should have stayed. For her. For her mate. For the faith and trust they had in m

With Arlo

THIRD PERSON'S POV "Father!!!" Jamal was a screaming mess as he alighted his car. He sprinted into the house, heading for the stairs but his gaze brushed over to the living room and he paused. His father's broad shoulders were slouched. He was sitting on a couch, with his head lowered. There was a bottle of whisky on the table and the pungent stench of weed. Jamal went to him. Furiously. Aggravatedly. He grabbed his shirt, pulling him up. "What did you do to her?!" Jamal's tears were a waterfall. He had cried a river on his way down here, but staring at his Father's pathetic face triggered more tears. "Son," Luther struggled to get Jamal's grip off his shirt. He wasn't being vicious though. He was feeling too devastated for that. Maybe he shouldn't have killed her. The regret had sunk in a little late. Maybe he should have let her off with a warning or a terrifying threat. But then again, he hadn't expected to feel the slightest affected by her death. She didn'
