I look around the brightly painted room as April looks for her drawing book under the pile of papers she has on her desk. The room was painted Hot pink and so were the carpets on the floor. It looks like the room came straight out of a Disney princess movie."I'm gonna go on a limb here and say you're favorite colour is pink."April chuckles as she pushes more papers off her desk until she final found a small black drawing book."It's not my all time favorite colour but it's what I'm feeling at the moment. Two months ago, my hair was bright purple and so was the walls and the carpets. Here." April pats the bed and gestures for me to sit next to her.Handing me her drawing book, she opened the cover to show me her first design."I came up with this a couple of years ago. Lucy ChawI looked through my boss' schedule and squeezed in a meeting with a potential investor before lunch. The Davis Company has been growing even more and stock price has shot through the roof. Stretched my arms above my head, i tried to relax my soar muscles. Last night had taken a tool on me. And even though the two tubes of ice cream i emptied helped, i still felt bad for eating so much. The dinner had really upset me. After the forced meal, we'd all collectively sat in the large sitting room in total silence. April tried her best to comfort me with a smile or by sitting next to me. But after a few minutes later, their parents asked to talk to April alone. They'd made their way to the room next to the one we were all at. Their voice was muffled but i could still guess that they were having a heated argument. After they returned, April had kept her distance from me and refused to even look at me. That moment had been unbearable. But just as Karl an

11:30I sighed as i watched the hours tik by and there is no sign or Karl. I wanted to take Dr. Goodman's advice and talk to Karl, tell him everything then see if he would understand or rub it in my face. But he still hasn't come home.I looked over to the dining table and another sigh escaped my lips. The dinner i made for him is now cold. The Creamy Steak Fettuccine i made following ever direction of a YouTube channel sat pretty at the middle of the circle table.I decided I'll wait a couple more minutes and then I'll leave it alone. when the clock hits midnight and i was getting up to put the dishes away, i heart the front door open and close, followed by Karl's slow footsteps.I waited for him to appear in the hall. Karl had his suit jacket off and hanging over his right arm as he used the left to rub his eyes. He looked pretty exhausted with how his always tense shoulders are slumped down."Karl?" I called out and saw his froze. After a couple of seconds, Karl turned his pale bl

The car was filled in silence as Karl drove me to work the next morning. Last night, after sharing dinner with Ethan and Stuart, i had made sure to stay downstairs a little longer to make sure that Karl would be asleep before i join him.I can never know what could set him off and he is harmless in his sleep so it was the best choice.I'd sat on the bed for about ten minutes and watched him sleep. With all the glare, scowl, the pushed together eyebrows and the angry curl of his lips, Karl looked like an angel. He seemed as gentle and as soft as a giant Inc-ed teddy bear that i couldn't help but stare. This morning, instead of just making toast for myself, i made some eggs too, just like i did the day before, but Karl refused to look at it, let alone eat it. Lossing my appetite, I told Ethan and Stuart that they can have their breakfast.I've learned that those two have a live-in job. Which means they live with us and stay in the guest house. From what I've seen when i first moved in

So i rushed towards the hall to see him. But my excitement dies when i see that it wasn't Karl but Ethan."I thought i heard a car. Is Karl home?" I asked, feeling weird for calling this house a home for the very first time.I watched as Ethan's eyes traveled over to the dining room and he awkwardly cleared his throat."Mr. Thompson won't be coming." Chapter 17
I carefully walked down the stairs with April and Zeus leading infront. The red dress stops just below my knee and is so tight that i need to be careful when I'm walking in these red, devil might care, heels.I ran my fingers through my hair and pushed it off my face. Zeus had released my hair from the bun and had spilt it in half. The long, black strands fall on either side of my face, down both my shoulders. The three of us returned to the main sitting room. April took the seat next to Kaily and Zeus next to their parents. The only available seat was next to either Karl or next to June. With the glare June was sending my way, i chose to sit next to Karl.I can see from the corner of my eyes that Karl was staring at me. Not with a glare or anything... Just staring at me.I found my right hand fingers playing with my wedding band on my left ring finger."You look very beautiful, Lucy." Kaily complemented me and i found myself smiling at the youngest Thompson."Thanks. It's all thanks

Ethan stopped the car infront of the Thompsons Mansion and got out to run around the car and open the door for us."Now remember, Lucy. You are officially my model so i need you to square your shoulders and lift your chin up.""I'm sorry but how much are you paying Lucy to do this.""Shut up, Zeus. She is my sister-in-law. No such thing as price on sisterhood. Now get out of the car, asshole."April shoved Zeus's shoulder over my own and he glared t her before getting out. After taking a deep breath, i followed Zeus and waited for April to follow.Zeus took the lead with his materials in a bag hanging from his finger tips.Taking another deep breath, i walked up the small steps towards the large wooden door. It was almost dinner time so the three of us went into the dining room.Candis Thompson was sitting at the head of the table wearing all purple. And Karl's mother and father sat at either side of her. The rest of us took our places where we usually sit, meaning i had to sit next t
