Ross Residence,Jessie was a nervous wreck. Her mom had completed her admission yesterday so she had to start school today. Yesterday she had felt calm and ready but today was another case. She had woken up and gotten ready by 5 am. This led to her having an extra two hours to lose the confidence she had gathered over the weekend. She had been pacing nonstop for the past thirty minutes and Eva was getting sick of it."Would you stop pacing, I haven't had my coffee yet so your constant movements are annoying" she snapped making Jessie flinch at the sound of her mother. She was so lost in thought that she hadn't even noticed her sitting there. Calming her racing heart, she looked at her mother's face which looked very tense. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she kept rubbing her forehead. All of Jessie's apprehension disappeared. Her mom only snapped at people when she felt really awful. She moved closer taking a seat."Are you okay?" She asked, her voice must have sounded off because her

Desiree's Lounge,Jessie was having the time of her life. Never had she been accepted so fluidly into a pre-existing group. However, she noticed that the longer they stayed, the more Olive seemed to glance at the door."Are you waiting for someone?" She decided to bite the bullet and ask. Her response was a flush from Olive and a snort from Jackson."She waiting for her boyfriend and my co, Ashton. He didn't come to school today so they decided to meet up here." Chelsea was kind enough to explain."Ohhhh. Okay." She might have spoken in a calm tone but inside she was bursting with joy. Was this what Kpop fans who had avenues to meet their bias felt like? If Olive looked this good, wouldn't her boyfriend be an Adonis? While she got lost in her fantasies, Jackson studied the girl beside him. Jessie Ross. Even her name sounded cute. When he had bumped into her during his detention, he had decided to give her a tour purely on impulse. He was stumped after she left and he realized that th

Going into the house, Olive was met with silence. Her mom's car was in the driveway so she was obviously at home but for some reason, the silence made her extremely uncomfortable.Moving further into the house, she saw her mom passed out on the couch, documents all around her. Immediately she sighted her, the unease she had felt all day dispersed. She moved towards the kitchen trying her best to minimize her noise so her mom wouldn't wake up. It was, however, all for nothing as her mom stirred from her slumber."Olive..." Rosabella called, her voice thick with sleep making her pause and turn back. "Hi" Olive whispered as she move closer to her mother. "Sorry if I woke you.""It's okay, how was school today?" Rosabella asked as she stretched her back and her waist let out a loud crack making Olive choke on a giggle."It was okay, Ashton didn't come to school today and refused to tell me why, but he made up for it by meeting up with us at Desiree's." Olive shrugged."Oh, and there was

And just like that the week came to an end. Jessie had somehow managed to carve out a space for herself in their little gang earning her envious eyes everywhere she turned. She could now proudly call Olive and Chelsea her friends without feeling awkward. They had made her feel so welcome it was like they had grown up together. They had scheduled a group outing at the arcade wanting the group to be complete and have a fun time celebrating the upcoming weekend. They had played all sorts of games before finally agreeing to play a game of laser tag. Huddling down together in the dimly lit lobby of the laser tag arena, Olive, Jackson, Jessie, Ashton, and Chelsea kept grinning at each other. Their adrenaline was pumping as they prepared to enter the neon-colored battlefield."I call the blue team!" Chelsea declared, snatching a matching blue laser tag vest from the pile."No way, I'm captain of the blue team," Jackson countered, trying to grab the vest out of Chelsea's hands. The two sibli

Jessie woke up Monday morning and for some reason, she felt off and her magic wasn't afraid to show it. It started with how she almost tripped because of a pillow that appeared out of nowhere on her way to the bathroom, then her magic setting the water too high and almost burning her skin off, then nicking herself with a knife with her magic bending the knife in her anger and finally, checking her bag before realizing her homework was on her reading table in homeroom.Banging her head on the desk, she attracted the stares of everyone and worried looks from her friends."Hey, what's wrong?" Olive asked softly in order to not be caught by the teacher. Jessie raised her head revealing her eyes that had gone red from frustration."Today has been the absolute worst. It's been one horrible moment to the other." Jessie whined. "I just have this feeling that something is going to go wrong today and it keeps making my magic go nuts."As she spoke, her desk promptly exploded into a shower of fl
