Chapter 41 After Layla landed, she did not have time to rest as she rushed back to the company. Her mom sounded anxious on the phone so she needed to find out what was going on. “Mom what is going on?” the moment she reached the office, she rushed to her mom’s office. “You are back. How was your trip?” Bella asked as she looked at her daughter lovingly. “It was good. Why did you call me back so suddenly? And what is going on in the company? I can feel that everyone is looking at me weirdly like I am done for.” Layla asked in an anxious voice. She did not get the attention she was used to every time she came to the company so, she was kind of worried. When she first joined showbiz, it was just so she could go against Amelia and obtain what Amelia could not. But after staying in it for a long time, she was already used to the attention and people sucking up to her. But now, not receiving any attention all of a sudden did not sit well with her. What was going on? Was someone alread

Chapter 43 “What…” Amelia wanted to ask what was going on with the woman but someone interrupted her. “Where is Vivian?” It was Kai’s voice. He must have come from the washroom since he was wiping his hands with a warm towel as he walked over. “What are you doing here?” Axel turned to his friend and asked. His voice was cold and his gaze piercing, making Kai shiver from head to toe. “I wanted to have dinner with you but you were not home. I was just on my way out.” Kai spoke. He did not dare have any eye contact with Axel. He must have been a fool to listen to his sister and the others and brought Vivian here. Axel had already made it clear that he was already married and he wanted nothing to do with Vivian. He did not take it seriously and thought that Axel was just saying it on a whim. They had grown up together and no one believe that Axel would disregard their friendship just because of a woman he had met not long ago. But now looking at his enraged expression, he realized t

Chapter 45 When the editor of Pulse Magazine received Layla’s call, she was so mad that she was almost rushed to the hospital. She never imagined that the person she considered a gem would have such a dirty past. She had never seen anyone with such thick skin. Did she not know that her scandal would affect everyone if she was found? Did ever consider the consequences of her lies? … The following morning… Knowing that today would be her day of being reborn, Amelia woke up early and prepared herself. They had agreed with the Pulse magazine editor that they would hold a press conference before they released the magazine. And as the magazine front cover model, she had to attend. Although she knew that it would be hard and it might even cause a huge misunderstanding with the company magazine, Amelia decided to go ahead with it. She was going as her original self and she was not going to use her alias. “I am so nervous. Even when I stepped on the runway for the first time, I was not

Chapter 47 “Ha ha, you want to play the heroine? Let us see if you will endure it?” the ‘fans’ laughed as they continued to throw things at Amelia. Although Amelia was in pain, she silently endured the humiliation. She knew that these people would receive double the retribution of what she was receiving right now when the time came. The hall was a mess but no one dared to stand up for Amelia. They did not want to be implicated. Layla looked at the video that was still streaming. She was so pleased by herself that she could not stop smiling. It was only after seeing the call from her grandmother that she came back to her senses. “I want to see you in my office right now, immediately,” Eva spoke over the phone. Layla knew that she was trying to endure her anger but she did not care. Although Lynn had called out their company and even threatened to sue them, she was not one beat afraid. She was going to deny everything and there was nothing her grandmother would do to her. She was

Chapter 49 “What are you crying? Do you know the mess you have created for the company?” Eva did not buy Layla’s pitiful act. She knew that her granddaughter was a born actress and only those with ample experience would be able to see through her. “Grandma… what… what are you saying?” Layla choked on her tears. “Do you really not know what I am saying or do you want the whole company to go down with you?” Eva asked. “I don’t understand what you are talking about. I was just in my room browsing through the internet when I saw the breaking news. How could I know what happened?” Layla asked. There was no way she was going to accept that she was behind what happened, even if it was obvious. “Layla, do you know how jeopardized our position is, in the entertainment now? Not only have you ruined the company, but you might also have ruined your career too. I clearly told you that no one was allowed to know anything, at least not until the magazine was released. But you went behind my bac
