Damon's pov As I sat across from Hector in the crowded café, I couldn't help but feel a sense of annoyance at his presence. It wasn't that I feared him or even disliked him, it was simply that I found his constant meddling to be a nuisance. Despite our tumultuous history, I had hoped that he would have moved on from his obsession with taking everything from me. However, as he began to speak, I knew that my hopes had been in vain. Hector claimed that my father had lied to me and that he was indeed interested in taking over the transportation company, along with the casino. I was initially taken aback by this news, as I had always thought my father had no interest in the casino. But as I thought more about it, I realized that Hector may have been bluffing. "Why should I believe you?" I asked, eyeing him skeptically. Hector simply smiled in response, a sly look on his face that made me even more suspicious. I wondered what he was hiding, what cards he was holding close to his chest.

Damon's pov I could feel the anger boiling up inside of me as Julius tried to calm me down. "Don't worry about Arturo," he said, "He's just a small-time crook. You're bigger than him." "Bigger than him?" I spat out. "He threatened me, Julius. He threatened me and my family. And you're telling me not to worry? You're telling me to be the bigger man?" Julius put his hands up in a defensive gesture. "No, no, that's not what I meant, Damon. I'm just saying that we should look out for plan B. We should be prepared in case the private investigator doesn't find the guy who stole the drive." "Plan B?" I asked, incredulous. "What kind of plan B? We don't have any money to pay Arturo back with." Julius stepped closer to me. "That's where you're wrong, Damon. We can come up with the money. You just have to be creative. Think outside the box." I shook my head. "The money he wants is too much, Julius. I don't know how we're going to come up with that kind of cash." Julius leaned in and whisp

Elysia's pov I dialled Damon's number with shaky fingers, unsure of what I was going to say. My ankle throbbed in pain as I waited for him to pick up. "Hey, Elysia, what's up?" Damon's voice sounded calm and collected, but I knew better than to be fooled by his façade. "I'm about to get discharged from the hospital," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I was wondering if you could come back." "Of course, I'll be there in a few minutes," Damon replied. As I hung up the phone, my thoughts raced. I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about Damon's behaviour lately. I couldn't trust him, not completely. But then a nagging voice in my head told me to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he had a good reason for transferring ownership of my company and my father's company to his name. When Damon arrived at the hospital, I put on a brave face, pretending that everything was fine. I didn't want him to know that I was still struggling to trust him. "How's th

Elysia Pov As I walked into the precinct I could see judging eyes glaring at me like a delusional woman. That's right, I've gone insane. I can no longer think clearly. I placed the bag of guns on the chief's table and said, "These are unregistered guns owned by Damon, you can go through, run a test and you will see that one of these was used in killing his daughter." Since I couldn't find the exact gun, which I'm sure Damon already dispose, at least he will be charge for illegal trafficking of guns. ... "Mrs. Contreras, you are aware this is a serious crime?" The chief queried. "I'm aware." I raised my brows with reddened eyes. My cheeks swollen as my eyes kept searching for Damon. "Okay, we will investigate this, but this doesn't guarantee that your husband will spend a longer time in jail. And if this happens to be a fake report, there are consequences. You might go to jail for false information, are you sure about this?" The chief enquired again. I know what he was trying

Elysia As I approached the hospital room, I saw Damon being wheeled out in a wheelchair, fast asleep. Beside him were his parents along with Zara and her daughter. My heart sank as I realized my fears. Feeling defeated, I walked up to them and hesitantly said, "Excuse me, how is Damon doing?" Zara's expression was cold as she replied, "He's doing much better now that he's finally away from you." Her words cut me deeply, and I felt a wave of hurt wash over me. "What do you mean?" I asked, my voice shaking. "You know exactly what I mean, Elysia," she replied, her tone harsh. "You're the last person Damon needs right now. He's trying to move on with his life, and he doesn't want anything to do with you." I felt a lump form in my throat as I heard her words. Damon's parents and Zara all glared at me, their eyes filled with anger and hatred. I felt like an outsider, unwanted and unloved. I turned and walked away, tears streaming down my face. I felt like my world was collapsing arou
