Dracula's POV My heart was racing and hitting hard inside my chest as I made my way to the proprietor's office. I was almost running through the corridors, breathing shakily as I narrowed my eyes and racked my brain to figure out what could be in the letter. It could have been good news, bad news, or just a goodwill message to check in on me and wish me happiness, but my instinct wasn't on the good side. The more I tried forcing myself to believe it wouldn't be anything heartbreaking, the more I felt fear twisting up inside me.I was almost sweating while trying to maintain a calm breath, which was almost impossible."What could be wrong?" I mused and shivered while my wolf cuddled up inside me with his tail covering his face as he also trembled over the foreboding sensation spreading all over us.I couldn't tell where the problem would arise from or what it was, but I knew deep within me that this letter wasn't a good one. Finally, after what seemed like a hundred years, I was able

Selene's POVThere was an absolute silence that clouded the atmosphere, as if something terrible had happened.Dracula wasn't talking anymore, and his eyes and attention were fixed at the door where the strange girl had just left. Although I didn't see her before she ran off, I overheard her screech. I heard that sharp cry of betrayal and heartbreak from her before she vanished like the wind.Dracula heard it too and instantly lost his mind. He doesn't seem to notice my presence in the room anymore, as he stood transfixed with his face grimacing and eyebrows furrowed together.I could hear his shaky breath and see how his eyes blinked rapidly as they suddenly shimmered with some kind of tender emotion."Who is that girl?" I finally broke the silence and was stunned at how Dracula flinched at my voice. He flicked his face back to me quickly, forcing out a weird smile as if he had just jolted out of a trance. "You mean the girl that just ran out after seeing us?" He asked in a stutteri

"Let me tell you why I believed her to be my real mate." I paused and pulled up my shirt, then pointed at my arm where the curse mark initially was."The curse mark was gone immediately when we met. That girl, Selene, revoked my curse. My mate was the one assigned by the moon goddess to free me from that curse, and she did it. You couldn't, because you aren't my true mate but a fake one manipulated by some fucking spell. Here is my father's letter that explained it all. Read and stay far away from me, or else I will be forced to make you regret ever meeting me!" I threatened menacingly before snatching my bank card, which she was still holding in her hand."I didn't use any charms or whatever, I swear. I didn't do any of that. We are mates, and...I..have..no. I....." She tried explaining, but her voice was failing her as she choked, cracking her words as she tried hard not to burst into a cry.She looked so terrified, and as she stared at my face, I could see the fright in her wet eyes

My blood ran cold as I froze in horror staring at the man in front of me. Those eyes glowing red with the potent scent of demons battering my nose made me realize the trouble I had put myself in. His voice was so deep and reeked of evil, which chilled me as I stared back, my lips trembling with no words coming out."It's good you fell into our trap so easily." He smirked, moving his hand to my face and flicking the strands of my hair that were on my face aside. The raven-haired man was huge, even in his sitting position, and the aura that he was emanating was something so intimidating and destructive. My bones and muscles were all weakened, and all my strength had been sapped, so that I couldn't even make any movements other than to sit there and peer at him.He was a demon, and I could tell he wasn't just any kind, but one of the high ranks. He was dressed in a dark suit and trousers like a normal shifter, and it was clear he had been tracking my locations and stalking me. He really

As I kept imagining the horrible past evil done by the demons, the tears in my eyes dropped. My heart throbbed at the guilt sensation, realizing how those poor members of my clan died at the hands of the demon without me doing anything. The rage in me was bursting like a volcano, and as I peered at these two demons in front of me, I could only imagine their faces among those who destroyed my family and friends."You are crying already? We haven't even done anything to you yet?!" The other one, who appeared smaller, sniggered while the other smirked. The dark gray fog around them and the bright red glow in their eyes were just pulling the triggers of every savage power inside me."You made a mistake to come into the werewolf kingdom, because not a single one of you will go back alive. You didn't expect to meet the Lycan prince here. So unlucky of you to pick her at the same time I was keeping trails on her." "Stop bluffing! It makes you look more pitiful!" The raven-haired demon snapp
