#CHAPTER31   THORN IN MY FLESH   DRAKE'S POV   I reluctantly made my way into the living room where I knew Cecilia was waiting. I was not intrigued or moved to meet her, I only went because of my responsibility to everyone. Cecilia was fast becoming a thorn in my flesh and was already pushing me to do what I knew I would regret later. Bearing this in mind, I tried to pacify and make myself more resilient so as not to get offended by her remarks.   Justin was already in the sitting room with her when I came in. Judging from his face I knew he would rather be anywhere but here, but we were duty-bound no matter the person or circumstances.   Cecilia sprang from her chair on seeing me. "Al

*****************DRAKE'S POV Justin's information about the neighboring pack had been on my mind for a while now. He had informed me that they were suffering greatly due to bad leadership which had caused poverty, sickness, and death in the pack, and this information bothered me a lot and even more so since Zara came into my life. Having Zara in my life made me understand that suffering existed and could break or maim the victim for life. Some people could be lucky to escape like Zara did, while others might not be as lucky as she was. However, I did not understand how an alpha could run his pack down to the level that Justin was talking about. I wanted to make a difference, to leave a legacy be

AM SORRY ZARA   DRAKE'S POV   Nothing came as a surprise to me anymore, I have seen it all, been through it all, yet I was not prepared to witness Zara's heart rate beat faster than a drum, worst perceive the scent of another in her.   The scent I perceived around her was new, I knew the scent of almost everyone in the pack but the one I perceived on Zara was strange to me. She had been with me all day, if not I would conclude that she must have met with someone who was a stranger to me.   I studied her for a while, she sat innocently beside me a little shy from the attention I was giving her. I couldn't help it, I was looking for a clue as to the unusual things happening to her.

PLANS, PESTERING, AND BANTER DRAKE'S POV We finally managed to take a bath and went to bed naked. I wrapped my arms around Zara as she snuggled into me and I purred, Dwayne was one pleased wolf. "Good Night, Zara." I kiss the back of her neck. "Good night my Alpha," Zara teased before sleep took control over us. It felt heavenly waking up to the sensation of holding my mate in my arms. Her soft and warm naked body pressed against mine was enough to awaken my sleeping member. I would never be able to get enough of her, I wanted her every moment and there was no doubt about that. But I had to work, for two d

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER TROUBLE The meeting was over in about an hour, I had been worried that it would take most of the day especially because elder Mathew liked to take his time whenever making deliberations. He would make sure we went over and over an issue till you are bored and edgy. It was a miracle that he did not dwell on any issue for too long. The elders left as soon as the meeting ended and I insisted on seeing them off at least to the gate when they asked me not to. "What a day," I said to Mark as I walked back into the office. It was always a huge relief to iron out issues and everyone is on the same page. "It all went well, every loose end was patched up." Mark replied, "Are you ready to leave, I have a dinner da
