ALPHA WANTS A CAKE Zara'S POV Alpha Drake gave a loud and angry howl in response to my story about abuse. His eyes changed color and his fangs appeared, and he became visibly angry, trashing things on the counter. I had never seen him so angry before, and I was both surprised and relieved that he was angry on my behalf. I knew I needed to stop him from causing further damage to the kitchen, so I went to him and hugged him tightly. He held on to me in return, and as I held him, I could feel his heart rate start to slow down and his anger dissipate. Drake buried his face in my neck, inhaling my scent and running his tongue over my skin. I couldn't help but moan at the sensation, but quickly covered my mouth in embarrassment. After he regained his composure, he ended the hug and apologized to me. "I'm sorry you had to witness that. I feel embarrassed." "Don't be," I replied, genuinely touched by his concern for me. "I should thank you for caring so much about me. You're like a broth

DRAKE'S POVI was thrilled to have Zara acknowledge our mate bond. She felt what I was feeling all this while we were together and finally understood what it meant. I was more pleased with the fact that she was the one that brought the subject up because I was worried she would flee from me if I told her we were mates, especially considering how I met her and the state she was in when we met and my being Alpha did not make it easier. When she came over to sit on my lap my whole body shot up in desire and warmth filled my heart. I lifted her into my hands after a short while and took her back to the bed where I gently laid her down and also lay beside her.Zara moved her body closer to mine and put her head on my chest

THE MEETINGZara'S POVI was a bundle of nerves as I dressed up for the meeting with the pack members. Alpha Drake had gone out of his way to ensure that I had new, comfy, and respectable clothes to put on. He had even spent more time trying to make sure that this was what I really wanted to do.I understood his worries, but I also knew it was the right thing for me to do. He was the alpha and his responsibility included the welfare of his subordinates and it was unfair to him and his pack members if I continued to be hidden from them. That was why I made up my mind to meet up with them finally, also I have a lot of respect for Alpha Drake, he was not like my father or brother. He was a man of his own words and if he treated me with so much ki

CLUELESSDRAKE'S POVZara ran up the flight of steps. It was the first time I saw her run or become overly excited. I wondered if her excitement had anything to do with my treat of coming to bathe with her. Mated werewolves were usually on a sexual overdrive. In no time she was out of the bathroom. She was so excited like a kid who got candy or a new toy. Her joy was so contagious that I looked forward to shopping with her even though shopping never excited me. It was not lost to me that she had not been with any man and that I might be the first man that ever kissed her. She was so innocent that I still wonder how it is possible at this age and time, then I remember the type of family she has and what they did t

#CHAPTER18   BAKE OFF DRAKE'S POV It all went well if I should say so. Even though I hated shopping, it was all fun with Zara by my side. She made everything easy and being around her was anything but dull. When we arrived later in the day we were greeted by the pack members and conversations easily flowed around us, but I noticed Chris who was usually bubbly and friendly was not his usual self, he was hesitant and unwilling to join in the conversation and stayed all to himself.  I went to meet him because I was bothered by his attitude and I had been told by my father never to ignore anyone in the pack or make them feel unwelcome o
