Luca’s POV Spending time with Juliet was fun, but at the same time, incredibly irritating. She talked too much, and honestly, I was starting to hate it. The clock was ticking, and it was almost time to leave for work. What I feared most was that she would refuse to leave my house. If that happened, I was already planning to chase her out. I didn’t want her lingering around, I was convinced she was bad company for me. What annoyed me the most was when she started asking about my love life. Those questions dragged me back into painful memories of Ella and the betrayal I had suffered. The hurt still gnawed at me, raw and unforgiving. I wanted to run away from myself, to escape these emotions that threatened to overwhelm me. “Are you done already? I’m going to close the house now,” I said, stepping out of my bedroom. She stood there, staring at me like she had seen a ghost. She was so pretty, but her silence was unusual. Usually, she was so talkative that I barely got a moment’s peace.
