Ella’s POV “What? Ella, what are you saying?” my mother asks immediately after I break the horrible news to her. “Baby, I am not understanding anything. Calm down a little.” “Mom, I am at the hospital,” I manage to say through heavy sobs. “Laura has been hit by a truck. She is in a terrible condition. I don’t know what to do, Mother. I don’t know if she will survive.” “Ella, please calm down. I am coming there right now. Just wait for me, please, daughter,” she says, and I cling to her voice like a lifeline.
