Melody's POV:The wind whipped my hair across my face as I walked down the hill towards the town. I should've at least gotten a jacket because these cold winds weren't helping at all.You didn't have time before. You don't have it now either. If anybody realizes that I'm missing back at the house, I'm so going to be trapped. Maybe even grounded. But being grounded didn't sound that bad comparing to what I had in mind. If my plan works out, maybe being grounded would be the least of my worries.I managed to reach the busy streets. People were busy like always even though strong winds were blowing most of their things. I went inside the flower shop, grateful for the change of environment.A chubby woman was busy packing some white tulips into a box. When she saw me, her expression turned from concentration to shock and back to a calm expression.I had no idea people could change their faces this quickly."Melody, dear." She greeted though I'm sure I heard a sort of edge in her voice.Ju

Melody's POV:I was 99 percent sure another flashback was coming any second when I held the snow globe in my hand. But of course, that 1 percent won and the next thing I knew...fire.It all happened when Amelia decided going shopping is worth a party. Specially a college party. I wasn't planning to go either but part of me thought Amelia would want to. Turned out the opposite. Our conversation went something like this:"You guys coming to the party?" Selina asked rummaging through her closet for a decent dress.I had been sitting on my bed with a blanket over me as I continued to study what Amelia and Selina did. I had no idea how people could party on a Monday night. Aren't they supposed to attend classes tomorrow? I didn't say that out loud trying not to offense Selina or Amelia, who -at that moment- I thought was going."No. We aren't going, Selina. Melody and I are going for shopping instead." She said from behind a carton. She had been busy in the two boxes since we came back fro

Melody's POV:"What the hell, Melody? Are you really that crazy?" Asher asked pulling me back.I should've been shocked finding him here but there were mix of emotions inside me at the moment. Panic, fear, shock. I must be dreaming.I looked behind the shelf in panic. I may have been crazy at that moment but thinking of Amelia out there was enough to make me think otherwise."Amelia is in there. Oh God, I've got to help her." I said trying to break away from his grip. The heat was now burning my face. It was getting too hot in here, too suffocating. Asher pulled me back in place."No. You're not going in there." He said firmly.I couldn't believe him. I looked back at the place I saw the silhouette. My head was ringing with the shouts. I had to help her. I struggled trying to push him away as a sinking feeling settled in my stomach. If something happened to Amelia..."God, Melody! Stop it." He shouted. "She's fine! She's outside, alright?"I stopped struggling this time."Really?" I a

Melody's POV:"It's all my fault." Amelia muttered for the hundredth time as she shuffled inside our room.I wasn't even surprised she was saying that. She liked blaming herself for everything."Really Amelia, it's fine. It isn't even bleeding." I said reassuringly.I had managed to burn my hand in the whole process of escaping the fire. Amelia had noticed that when we reached back to our dorm and she was literally freaking out over it.She shook her head and came towards me with the first aid kit. She took out the antiseptic cream and applied it gently on my hand."Melody?" She asked. "Did something happen between Asher and you?"The giddy feeling almost returned to my stomach thinking about what had actually happened. I couldn't help but think how good it felt against him. Especially when his arms were around me."He...made me get out alive from that shop." I answered. She didn't look like she heard it."I'm so sorry for leaving you alone. I thought something will happen to you. I f

Melody's POV:"Alright everyone, partner up among yourselves and go ahead to each microscopes. Prepare the slides and I'll be coming there to watch your progress." Mrs Nash said before straightening her crooked glasses.Amelia pulled me along to the farthest microscope as we got busied in the apparatus."So you got the phone?" She asked adjusting the lens.I had been standing there not sure what to do until I saw Mrs Nash coming. No way in hell am I receiving a C in this too. She loves giving me a C.I busied myself in refilling the dropper."Yeah. I got it." I said before glancing at her.I hadn't got any time to talk to her about any of that. Yesterday had went by so quickly. But I hadn't explored my old phone either. It just seemed like I was trying to invade in someone else's life."You didn't tell me Asher is supposed to be a singer. A really famous singer." I stated slowly, not loud enough for Mrs Nash to hear who was just few steps away. She sighed and looked up at me."Your Da

Melody's POV:I was wrong.I should possibly restrain myself from hoping the best. Because Asher didn't come.I reached the Grand Park ten minutes before the time we had agreed on. I hadn't told anyone, not even Amelia. She just knew I was in the library. I had sat on the bench looking around for him.He hadn't come.Part of me was kind of expecting that all along. Why in the world would he even take it seriously since I practically told him about that at midnight? Most of all, why in the world would he even take me seriously?I had stayed there for a whole hour, hoping I was wrong and he would come. But people had started retreating, and so did I.And most worst of all, when I went back to the dormitory, I had seen a mail for me. A mail from my Dad asking me to visit the principal's office for my scheduled counselor's meeting. Believe me, I've never felt more unlucky. I guess I had some talk to do with my dad. But right now, I headed off to the principal's office.I didn't need more

Melody's POV:This time when I reached the Grand Park, he was already there. My heart skipped a beat when I saw him. I almost wanted to turn back and leave.Whatever happens just don't lose hope.I looked at his back profile, sitting on a bench looking like he didn't care if people were giving him stares. Not mostly since there were mainly children around. I still had a hard time thinking he was supposed to be a singer.Well, he was supposed to be a singer. I can't possibly change that. The thing was, why didn't anyone tell me before?Inhaling an encouraging breath, I went towards him. Each step I took, I felt my heartbeat increasing. I sat down on the bench beside him. On the far end.God, please don't make this any more awkward."Hey." He said with a small smile. My heart skipped another beat. I didn't want to look like an awkward mess."Hi." I replied back.He looked comfortable. While I felt like I could just walk back and leave. Curse my stupid attitude."It's a nice...place, isn

Melody's POV:I had the same dream that night. Again it was horrifying. I woke up in a daze, shaking. I hadn't slept after that."I've been having dreams. Nightmares, actually. I think I should drop the medicines for a while." I told Amelia later in library. She looked at me in sympathy and shook her head."I don't think that would be wise." She said.I knew she would say that. They didn't know how horrifying it felt when I couldn't have escaped those creepy woods. At some point I had thought it wasn't a dream after all.I nodded and stood up, slinging my handbag over my shoulder."You're coming?" I asked her.She again shook her head without looking up at me."I'll come when I'm done with this."She was busy doing her English assignment. I sighed and exited the library into the dark, night sky. Earlier, I had a talk with Dad on the phone. He had been giving excuses for why I should attend my counselling sessions. Thankfully, they will only be on Mondays and Thursdays.I had to agree

Melody's POV:I ended up skipping the counselling session. It wasn't my fault after all. Mr Brown ended up ten minutes late. And I didn't have that much time left before I had to meet up with Asher.I had been waiting so long to see him. And getting late wouldn't have helped. I somehow convinced Amelia."What if your Dad asks?" She asked."He won't know." I said before throwing a scarf around my neck."When will you be back?" She asked coming with me to the door.I looked at her not sure what to reply with. I don't know where we'll be going."Night?" I asked. She nodded and opened the door for me."Bye."I left the dormitory towards the gates of the college. Nobody gave me a second glance as I made my way towards the street. Asher had asked me to meet him back at the Grand park.I was just outside the familiar green park when I saw a crowd gathering towards the entrance. I looked at them not sure what this all was about. I looked around for Asher but couldn't find him.As I was about

Asher's POV:The rain turned into a violent storm in minutes. Which was bad since now we were trapped here with trees all around and us in the car, which had decided to stop midway. And now we were literally out here between I don't know where."Oh God. How will we get back?" Melody whispered.I glanced sideways at her. Once again I felt my eyes just staying at her. She was so real. Like the same Melody I loved putting my arms around. The same Melody I loved to kiss. How could she just forget it all?It should've been too hard to accept it or the thing about her flashbacks. But the way panic had edged in her eyes when she had told me about it was not hard to believe. She turned her focus towards me and I looked away."We are trapped." She said.I looked at the road ahead as the night sky made it look more isolated. Opening the door, I glanced at her one more time."No, we're not. I'll check what's wrong." I reassured her.She nodded but the worried lines were still visible on her fore
