Chapter 61- Cherryl
Morningstar Packsouthern part of the werewolf kingdom. It had been months since Landon had gone missing—months of hiding from the demon who tortured them after they eloped—and yet, Cherryl was still hoping that somehow, Landon would come back. Come back for her, because he promised he would. That morning, Cherryl’s eyes snapped open. That damn rooster!Every morning, the little beast insisted on waking up the whole farm.Cherryl pushed herself out of bed with a groan, gathered up some clothes, and stumbled down the hall to the bathroom. Being alone and with only the animal farm as a companion was never easy, but she didn't have a choice but to wait and hope Landon was still alive to fulfill his promises. She sighed.Even though the damn rooster had no respect for her—the creature that fed and sheltered him—she loved that old rooster. Despite his penchant for attacking her, determined to peck her eyes out, she fed the damn thing extra food every day in an effort to win over his affect

Chapter 62- Abducted?
This option could be a product of too much television, she thought, but as Cherryl reached out and touched the cool transparent wall of her silver cell and watched the creatures move around in their enclosures, hearing the dull roar of various animal sounds filling the hold around her, it felt all too real.If she had indeed been abducted, and the stories were to be believed, this had happened to a lot of people. And those people were returned to Earth to tell their crazy tales! But I'm nothing but a human. I’m a werewolf, for fuck’s sake.Looking around, she called her wolf again. It stirred from the depths of her mind, but it was unconscious. Not moving or talking to her.Cherryl felt a surge of hope.Whoever abducted me will come down here, run some crazy experiments, and then let me go. I can survive that, probably. And when I get back, I'll invest in a tin foil hat and never tell anyone what happened. Ever. But was this human action? Was she abducted by FBI agents? NSA? M16? or

Chapter 63- Demon Hybrid
Heaving a sigh, Cherryl retreated to a corner and sat down gingerly, being careful of her sore butt. Now that the water had been brought to her attention, Cherryl realized how thirsty she was. She eyed the trough and grimaced. As callous as it sounded, she was grateful the cows were trying it first so she'd know if it was poisoned, but she was definitely not looking forward to sharing drinking water with them. As much as she loved the animals, drinking their saliva-laced water did not sound fun or particularly hygienic, but maybe her wolf could. The problem was, she couldn't shift."Landon, where the hell are you?" She mumbled softly.A few minutes later, Cherryl watched them like a hawk when they finished to see if they suffered any ill effects before she braved it herself, despite her reluctance. After waiting for what felt like an hour with no signs of worrisome behavior, she stood and moved to the water. No choice, she has, to at least get herself into not dying from dehydration.

Chapter 64- Waiting
Hours passed, and Cherryl was bored, hungry, and exhausted, having been woken up in the middle of the night. She guessed they'd been in the cell for eight or nine hours at this point. Deciding she had waited long enough, she tore off a corner of the food loaf and sniffed it. It looked disgusting, all yellow and brown swirled together, but it smelled kind of like rosemary, which was nice.Goddess, even her wolf wouldn't like this, but she doesn't have any choice or she'll die hungry. She licked it first, then paused, waiting for any tingling or burning sensations. When nothing happened, she tore off a chunk and took a small bite, chewing slowly. It tasted like mashed potatoes, apples, berries, and raw carrots. Not the most palatable mix of flavors, but edible. When she finished her fist-sized chunk, she decided to stop there. Now that she had food in her stomach, Cherryl couldn't fight her exhaustion anymore, despite the dangerous predicament in which she found herself. Laying down on

Chapter 65- Help me!
It was day number twenty, according to the tally marks on the floor, and Cherryl was sitting in her corner, watching the animals as per usual and eating 'dinner'. She was thinking about the last time she took a bubble bath —they were so damn relaxing, and she was regretting she hadn't indulged in more of them—when movement caught her eye. What the hell was that? She knew she heard something. It wasn't the usual sound from the animals. As she turned her head to see what it was—her first thought was that some of the animals had escaped—she saw two... creepy people. They were wearing what looked like body-hugging, tin foil onesies that covered them from neck to toe. What the fuck? From the scent, Cherryl knew they were demons. They had sickly green skin, no noses, pronounced eye sockets, wide, lipless mouths, and gill-like frills on either side of their long necks. They also had to be close to seven feet tall. Now that the much-anticipated moment was finally upon her, Cherryl was struck

Chapter 66- Forest
Cherryl walked all day but didn't see or hear any signs of water, and she was miserably uncomfortable. What kind of forest does not have any rivers or anything related to something that has water?Besides being incredibly thirsty and tired, she was hot as hell and sweating profusely. Her warm clothes, while perfect for fall weather back home, were not at all suited to this forest-jungle and were soaked through with sweat. Her cardigan had joined her long-sleeved shirt around her waist, leaving her in just her black cami, and her fleece pajama pants were rolled up to her thighs. She was sure she looked ridiculous, but she was beyond caring. Also, walking for miles in work boots with no socks sucked. She had blisters on her blisters, and her long hair was sticking to her face and neck. She was keeping an eye out for a straight, skinny stick, hoping she could peel the bark off of it and use it like a pencil to hold her hair up in a bun, but no luck so far. There was no way her hair tie w

Chapter 67- Robinson's Pack
"What about Fur Dem?" she asked, referring to its demonish magical fur, scratching the beast behind its ears. The furball squeaked and started tapping its front set of paws on the ground, probably in response to her petting, but Cherryl chose to take it as confirmation that it liked her ironic pick of names."Fur Dem, it is," she proclaimed with a smile. She carefully scooped up the wiggling, fuzzy white babies and set them down on the ground in front of her before standing and walking back to her little nest, where she'd left her shirt. The animal made a distressed squeaking sound behind her and tugged on the back of her jagged pants leg. When Cherryl turned around, it again had a baby in its mouth and one in each of its lower hands, holding them out to her."I don't understand. Are you trying to give them to me? Because I can't even take care of myself right now."When it kept holding out the babies and whimpering, Cherryl gave in."Fine, I'll hold them. But I'm not keeping them! If

Chapter 68- Human Hybrid
"The problem, Sophie, is that you have the chance of changing what will happen in the future if you tell us what you know. Like I said, I can tell a dozen stories. You need to give me a reason why I should run your story over any other, or why I should even run it at all. There are millions of humans every day who pretend to be vampires, demons, and other supernatural beings. They dress up, wear fangs, and some even drink blood. All over the internet, people claim they’ve seen vampires, know demons, or are werewolves. Why is that?" "Because it's their second nature to fear us?" Sophie replied. "Yes. They fear us, and they want to be like us. If the rumours were true about those kinds of creatures, then we need to devise a plan that would counteract their methods." "Like an antidote?" "Yes." Greg sat and took the sour candy from Sophie and ate it all, which made Sophie smack him in the head. "You two, stop acting like children." "We have matters to discuss, and you two are fightin

Chapter 69- The boy
"Yesterday, we had another attack." Sage took a deep breath and ignored Sophie’s heated glare."Our enforcers were stumped. All the doors were locked from the inside, the apartment was twenty floors up. Security cameras showed nobody entering or exiting the only lift in the building on his floor.""Is this inside the pack?" Sophie asked, disregarding Sage's invisible emotional outbursts."No, this happened on the border, near the cabin of my formal patrol team. Shenna’s and her family’s cabin.”Sophie's eyes widened. "Are they Okay? Is the child—""They are fine, but the neighboring apartments on the northern side were attacked."Her jaw clenched before she responded, "Was it demon puncture wounds?" Sophie asked."Good guess. Yes, several, in pairs. Here," Sage said, gesturing with two fingers at the insides of Sophie’s denim-covered thighs, just above the knee. "Femoral artery. Also, here." He put her fingers above the neckline of her cream-colored sleeveless wrap top. "Carotid arter

Chapter 70- Traning
The next day, they began their training. Sage started by giving her a lesson about different types of swords and weapons. Two hours later, Sophie was swearing to every known god on the planet for the existence of the being called Sage Fucking Robinson. Not only was the guy rude and arrogant, but he was also the definition of the man who knows it all. Overbearing self proclaims the god of all gods and goddesses. Zeus himself, But well, hot as hell nonetheless, but just as jerk. The lesson was indeed tiresome, and she zoomed out for almost half of it. She was like going back to her college life. The boredom was immense, and she ended up yawning the entire time. "Always remember your sword is part of you, Sophie." Sage shouted at her, earning her a little jump. Seriously, this man is the son of hell. She thought to herself. He was really persistent in teaching her about the different kinds of swords. It was boring. "Sophie, are you even listening?" "Yes! Of course." A hell of a bloo
