Chapter 21
Mavros’ hand was wrapped around my waist protectively when I woke the following morning. I carefully turned as I did not want to wake him up. I just wanted to look at him. I missed him so much. His voice, his touch, his kisses. I missed all of him. At this point, I felt happy and fulfilled. Thankful, too. I did not know how Aspro did it, but I was thankful to him.“You don’t know how happy I am to have you around.” I drew an invisible heart on his chest. “I feel like I can do this now.”It was true. Having him around was one heck of a support. I felt stronger and fearless.“Thank you.”I lifted his hand off of my body and tiptoed into the toilet to do my business. I brushed my teeth, showered, and got out. I had to go see the doctor today. I brought out an orange maxi dress that stopped just above my knees. After I did a very simple makeup, I put on a pair of black flats.“Where are you headed to?”My eyes flitted to Mavros when I heard his voice. His hair was slightly messy, but he st

“I want you to mark me.”Something inside of me reacted in a way I never expected. My wolf was thrilled to finally have someone to call her own, but it wasn’t exactly the same for me. I feared what would come if I did what he wanted. What we wanted.“I can’t.” The hopeful look in his eyes died, and it made me feel guilty. “Why not? Don’t you want us to be bonded?”“I do,” He hadn’t let go of my hand and I took it he wasn’t upset. Maybe a little disappointed. “Then what’s the problem?”“I’m afraid.”“Of the council.” It was more of an assertion than a question. He was certain.“Yes.”“You have nothing to be afraid of, my love.”“I have every reason to be afraid of them. They’ll do to me what they did to Zariya. I cannot leave my family and kingdom behind. I can’t leave you.”“Even if I tell you that Selene, Aspro and Fitia will support us?

Chapter 23
Mavros drove into the yard and turned off the car. Standing in front of the door was Maya with frown lies wedging in between her eyebrows as she tapped her foot to a rhythm on the concrete ground. I got out of the car and closed the door.“Goodness gracious, young lady.” Maya ran to me, holding out her hands. “Where did you two disappear to informing no one? Your phone was unanswered, too.”“I’m fine.” I assured her. “You have nothing to be worried about.”“Are you sure?” I nodded. “Yes. He was with me.”Only then did Maya look at Mavros. She lowered her head respectfully and he acknowledged her with a bow of his own. “Why don’t you two come in? Everyone was worried about you. Logan almost called a search party, you know.”I followed Maya into the house with Mavros trailing behind me. As soon as I stepped foot into the living room, I was squished in a hug by Red. The guys just stood behind them with arms crossed over their broad chests. I was in

Epilogue
They moved me to a regular ward after they cleaned me and my daughter up. It turned out the life Selene took in exchange for mine was my child’s. She took the life of someone dear to me. It wasn’t Maya; it wasn’t Melody. Neither was it Carter. Although she was merciful enough to leave me with one of the children, deep down I felt there were better ways to handle the entire ordeal. I lowered my eyes to the sweetheart in my arms when she moved a little. I felt an overwhelming surge of love and admiration as I gazed at my newborn child. Holding the little angel in my arms, all my worries seemed to fade away. She was truly beautiful, with her father's original features, sporting unusual silver-colored hair and captivating blue eyes. My heart was filled with joy and comfort as I embraced her. I'd just become a mother. I now had a child to take care of, to love and protect no matter what. I would protect her with my life if it meant laying it down for her sake. I knew I could do all these

FALL SERIES: The fall of a demigod.
NOTE: HI GUYS! The following chapters will be teasers for this book. This particular book is a series on its own with five books. Let me know if you like it after reading the teasers. INTRODUCTION Two years ago, Caidyn caused a young man to drown in the waters of loss after he had seen her. On that day, Lucien Dracmon sat on a rock at the riverbank, starring at the beautiful petals of a moon flower that grew only around this particular river. It only bloomed at night and he had come out because of it and to also comfort himself. “Why can’t it be me?” She heard him say, watching as the wind blew strands of his black hair, making it cover his eyes. “I did my best, did I not?” He twirled the flower in his hand. “What do I lack?” Lucien had participated in a ball to win a princess’ heart and he had failed. Whereas the other men wanted power and fame, Lucien felt different. He loved the princess. It saddened him to watch her become head over heels for someone that wasn’t him. “Pathet

I had no time to speak to Dimitri and Jean about their problem as I had to be in Alynthi for my promotion. Tonight, I would be made an angel and I couldn’t wait. Unfortunately, only father could come with me as he was a god, unlike my mother. I could tell she was saddened by it as she helped me prepare for the ceremony. “Are you sure I cannot come along?” Mother asked, brushing my hair as though I were a child. “Darling, we’ve been through this last night.” Father kissed her temple. “It’s for gods only, but I promise to fill you in on every detail. Even the tiniest ones.” “You promise?” “I promise.” He ran his hand up and down her back. “You two finish up in here. I’ll wait in the living room.” Once he was out of sight, I got to my feet. I was bejeweled in strings of the finest pearls, rings and bangles clinked whenever I moved. Even the tiniest movement resulted in the production of sounds. A white, silk dress was draped over my body leaving very little to the imagination. The ga

Fluffy white wings stretched out of my back and cast a shadow over me, covering me as though they were shields. That wasn’t the problem, though. At the bottom of my wings, there was fire that did not appear to cause me or my cloth any harm. It just burned. In the middle of my head was a crescent moon that glowed. “They are burning,” I heard someone say. “How are they white if she is the demigod of Night and shadows?” Another asked. “Perhaps it’s a demigod thing.” The murmurs died down when Medros lifted a fisted hand. “Caidyn Romero, angel of Night and shadows, please return to your home in the mortal realm. It has been done.” Despite my surprise and confusion, I bowed deeply before opening a portal to the mortal realm and going into it. The living room was where the portal led to. Mother sat there, hand under her chin as she stared into space. Jean and Dimitri sat on separate couches, both avoiding the other because of Dimitri’s discovery. Jean’s sister, Yvonne; a feisty eighte

We sat in the dining room with everyone in the family save for Aunt Ared and Uncle Logan. They had traveled yesterday for an important meeting on behalf of my mother. Though they were absent, Aunt Melody and Uncle Carter were present but I could sense they wished they weren’t here because of Blade’s accusing stare. “Here’s the thing, son.” Father began, pouring himself a glass of juice. “We wanted to see you, but your teachers insisted we stayed back. They said it’d make you want to learn quickly so that you’d come home. We had no choice. We wanted the best for you, so we hearkened to their advice.” “And you want me to go back after Caidyn’s birthday?” Mother responded. “Yes.” Blade dropped his spoon. “No.” Father’s left eyebrow rose. “No?” “I believe I said that. I won’t go back there. Not now, not ever.” “You have to stay there until you can completely control your abilities. It’s for your own good.” “I am twenty years old, dad. I know what is good for me and going back there

The past five days were stressful for various reasons. One being that Leah always somehow found a way to be around my brother and he always let her. Could he not see what I was seeing? Secondly, Dimitri and Jean kept ignoring each other and pretending the other was invincible. I could see how hard it was for them to be like that with each other, yet they continued. The third reason for my stress was my birthday that would take place tomorrow. I was not someone to bother about my birthday, but I couldn’t stop myself from worrying because Esme Von Stein would be attending. Things could get bad between herself, Jean and Dimitri. The fourth reason was because father would not change his mind about Blade leaving after my birthday. I was yet to come up with a way to convince him to let Blade stay home with us. So, you see, this past few days were tiring. A lot of things had to be taken care of. I couldn’t tell mother about it or she’d become worried. She already had a lot on her plate an

After my conversation with Leah, I could not find it in me to sleep. I refused to believe she said those things to me and even called me by my name as though we were friends or even family. How dare she? The more I thought about it, the more annoyed I got. Who did she think she was? A mere maid spoke to me in such a manner. What was this world turning into? “Why? It’s not as if you’re going to marry him one day. Someone else has to.” Was she in love with Blade? No. It couldn’t be. She just got here. “Damn it!” I yanked the sheets off myself. “That crazy, little bitch who doesn’t know her place.” I clenched my fists. “Oh, I wish I could just strangle life out of her and make her beg for mercy.” No, no. That goes against angel rules. I cannot kill someone unless I have enough proof that they’re awful. I threw my hands into the air, frustrated. “Can’t I kill this one?” A glowing piece of paper appeared in my room—the set of rules angels were to follow. The number one rule was to ne
