Chapter 11: Wrong question

NALANIIf there's one thing I don't want to feel at all, it's fear. It weakens my system. The bones in my knees softened and almost all my muscles trembled. I know, he left, I'm just not sure if he followed Travis. But his name, my dream, his weird approaches, the information I got from Madame Hale and my dream are all connected.I also puzzled over Travis saying he was a monster. Well, I just confirmed earlier that he's the reason why Travis got mad, that's according to Alpha Liam using the word 'for sure' and 'again'. From him, I found out that they don't get along and the word that Travis said seems like he knows what kind of man his cousin is. I'm still shaking like a leaf, I can't remember my past but I had a strong hunch, what I had gone through was terrible and it seemed true that Alpha's cousin, Ross, was the one behind it. Earlier, while Travis was bursting out of anger, I saw him coming down the stairs, acting like nothing happened. I have no idea what they were fighting ab

Chapter 12: Digging into the past

NALANIThe flowershop closed early because Madame Hale had an emergency. Actually, this business of his is quite large but in the flowershop where we are, was his office. The main building of Hale Flowershop is actually right across from the mall. His regular employees were there. Here at our place, Siena is the only regular and I am the only part time worker. His early closing was in Siena's favor and now we were given a chance to hang around the park. I was watching at the children playing in the playground while listening to their laughter and giggles. I'm curious if they are all Werewolves, but mostly here in the Undergrove are shape-shifters. There are very few humans here and almost all of us have jobs. As they say, only brave humans can interact with them. I agree with that, since it wasn't really easy to interact with them at first. But my brows creased thinking how did I start staying here. I think I can recall that but wait. I know I graduated as a dietitian, but who suppo

Chapter 13: Grudge

ROSSI pressed my knee to Travis' belly causing him to grunt in pain. I grabbed both his arms and pinned them to the ground. He gasped and looked at Nalani who was running away from us. I also looked her while hissing. I saw the fear on her face especially when Travis yelled, "I said run! He's going to kill you! Don't look back—"Snapping his words, I hit him in the face with my claws causing him to scream in pain. My four nails drew on his cheek and crossed his noseline. I whispered in a hiss, "What the hell are you doing?"But he grunted, sneering at me and yelled in my face feigning protective of Nalani, "You can't have her! You have to kill me first before you have her!"I don't know what game he wants to play, but after he told Nalani that, she turned and ran away. I know that by this time, it was already imprinted in her mind that I was a terrible man, monster like Travis said. This was his way of making sure that Nalani would stay away from me. Fury washes all over me, my blood

Chapter 14: The power of fear

SIENA"So you called now because you thought I was pregnant?!" I exclaimed on the phone after hearing Alex's reason for calling. "Are you out of your mind? How could you expect me to be pregnant?""It's been a month, Siena. After what happened to us, and I made sure of that. I think I'm not infertile, am I?"I burst out laughing and yelled, "How can I get pregnant if we both have vulva?!"She was silent on the other line, feigning to realize the truth and time over like me, she also burst out laughing and said, "Why did you remind me? What kind of ex are you slapping me with the fact that I don't have a dick? Can't you let me dream for a moment that I can create a child in your womb?"I was holding my belly to ease my laughter and manage to calm down for the serious question, "And why did you call?"Again, she was silent on the other line and I heard her sigh. "Of course, I missed you." I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I was currently leaning against the head board of my bed and facing a

Chapter 15: Try to ask

NALANI I think, I already have trauma from what happened and I seem to be pulling Siena too with the fear I feel. We both jolted when someone knocked on the door and yelled, "Don't hide her Siena! Let her out!"It wasn't Ross or Travis' voice but what the man said sounded like he was talking about me. I panicked looking at Siena. At first, I saw the fear on her face but it gradually changed to irritation and she spoke to me, "Wait, stay here, I think he knocked by mistake.""Siena! Do you think, you can hide her? I saw her come in here! Don't you dare to hide her if you don't want to get into our trouble!"Confusion enveloped me despite the fear I was feeling. Siena stood up and stormed to the door. I don't know what trip she was on but she just stood in front of the door and let the man knock and knock. She clenched her fist for a moment before she said, "I'll open the door but promise me. You won't point a gun at us!"Gun? What is happening here at her place? Why does this seem wor

Chapter 16: The photos

NALANII only served a simple meal for breakfast, just egg, sandwich and milk to Alpha and the same to his cousin. I thought deeply about what Siena said. I think right now, I'll take the initiative to deliver food to Alpha Liam's cousin. I want to ask him how he met me but I was going to deliver Alpha Liam's food first. As I knocked on the door it opened automatically, which means he was already waiting, but my blood ran cold when Travis came out. Frowning and looking so upset. I didn't hear what, they talked inside and he just looked at me with a blank reaction. Something seems off in him this morning which I'm not used to. He didn't grin like he used to do to tease me. He just glanced at me and went straight down the stairs.I followed him with my eyes mentally asking what he and Alpha discussed, but do I have the right to know that? I just took a deep breath and entered the office since Travis didn't close it. Maybe he also considered my situation as not easy. "Good morning, Alpha

Chapter 17: The records

NALANI I jolted when Madame Hale suddenly slammed the thin but wide book he was reading on the table. Siena and I were currently talking about my life problem and my stomach lurches at the thought that he might be mad that we are not focusing on work. He yelled, "What on earth is going on?!"Siena winced as she raised her two fingers as an apology and promised not to do what we are currently doing again. I also bowed down to accept his scolding but he says, "How did it happen that the terrible Alpha Ross is your mate? And wow, there is a photo of you and Alpha Liam and you were their bestfriend back then."I thought he would be yell at us, because of the topic, I didn't expect him to be willing to join the conversation. Siena grinned and said, "I thought you were mad at what we did, Madame.""Well, you're doing it wrong, you two are wasting my money!" He looked away and raised his chin while fanning himself with a hand fan and immediately faced us while saying, "But..." He smiled and

Chapter 18: I want her back

NALANI The big black wolf with a slight shade of brown growled right at Ross' face. Ross was forced to pull his eyes away from me and threw a full of fury glare at the wolf that was snarling in front of him. Wondering which wolf that was, I looked at Travis' car for a moment. I gasped when I saw that he wasn't there, that was just proof that he had shifted. This time, it seems that Ross is not the only one I have to tame, but Travis as well. If they were my best friends then, I think they will listen to me. I know, I used to hate Travis because he is so annoying and sadistic to be with, but we have a photo together, proof that we were really close. If I talk to him, I think he will follow me—I hope so.I was about to step on my feet but a hand grabbed my arm, and in the car I saw Ross shifting. My eyes widened, and my knees are slowly losing strength. This was the first time I witnessed the actual shift of a werewolf and it added to my fear of him.But it shouldn't be, like Alpha Lia

Chapter 19: Debate

NALANIAlpha Liam just took me inside Madame Hale's flowershop while the people outside were pivoting to take their leave since this was the order from his gamma. He just asked if I'm okay now and when he got a positive answer from me, he left immediately after Madame Hall gave him a heartfelt thank you.Siena entered with the support of a man, with a large physique. It seems that he is also one of the Undergrove warriors. He helped her to sit next to me, then the man paid attention to Madame Hale who was now holding her waist while breathing deeply out of stress. My eyes aimed outside watching the warriors supporting Ross and Travis who were now about to lose consciousness. I'm curious about the smoke that Alpha Liam sprayed on them as they seem to gradually weaken as long as they inhale it."You two eyes on me!" I jolted when Madame Hale's voice prevailed. This time I'm sure that his yelling has no hint of kidding, especially since I saw the anger in his eyes. Siena immediately grab

Chapter 20: Escaping

ROSSPlain white met my eyes when I opened it. I'm really confused about where I am, but based on my position; lying down and the plain white I'm seeing is a proof that it's the ceiling. I tilted my head to my right side, there was another bed, and someone was also lying down. Based on the wall and the style of the bed, we are in the same room that belongs to the hospital. I mentally asked what happened. Darth is quiet, and so weak. My throat suddenly felt itchy causing me to cough, as I managed to get up. I noticed myself shirtless like... whats going on? It seems they did something to my body that made my situation like this. My wolf is seemed to have no intention of explaining what was happening in our human form. But I don't feel any pain if I am injured. My forehead creased as I paid attention to the man lying on a bed. I mentally scoffed when I realized, it was Travis. What happened to this— oh yeah, I get it. I forgot that we had a fight earlier. He made me upset again, and...
