Lorcan JudsonI've officially lost my mind and the proof is yesterday's incident. I pulled that clingy human's hand against my chest, where my heart never beats, and fought to prove that I have a heart. Irony! Vampires hearts don’t beat. We lose our heartbeat the moment we become blood-sucking monsters and I'm quite used to the fact for the last 500 years. Yet, this human urged me to argue like a fool. I sensed this woman is dangerous to me ever since I felt her gaze on me for the first time. She has the potential to stir up long-buried emotions in me. Yet, I, like an idiot, gave in to her temptation. I scrub my face, as frustration fills my mind. Let's assume she got carried away in the heat of the moment because she is a 22-year-old human whose hormones dance in full swing. But what about me? A 500-year-old vampire, reacting like a teenager?I click my tongue and shake my head. I thank my lucky stars that Orlo and Dylan aren’t here otherwise they would have teased me until I l

Verena Layton I sit on the floor, staring hopelessly at the ruined art paper. I poured all my energy into creating it since it was meant to go on the walls of the most important department. I sniffle, trying to hold back. I have to re-create this one. Again. Now, Lorcan is gone as well. I know I overreacted and his words meant no harm. Infact, he was worrying about me but I couldn’t help it. I stand up. Resting my hands on my waist, I raise my head and stare into the ceiling as if that would miraculously prevent tears from falling and dry my eyes. It’s okay. I can do it. I can start the graph from scratch and things will be okay. I try to assure myself but as soon as I notice myself, standing amidst the gigantic room, surrounded by the cold walls, tears fall again. I curse my fate. Only if I was a bit careful and didn’t collide with Alan. Only if I didn’t take out my outburst on Lorcan, he would’ve at least helped me with some tasks. That option also vanished with him storming o

Lorcan Judson“Keep a watch out for that little girl of yours.”That bonehead whispers in my ear. His voice was wrapped in the most dirty intention that no creature deserves. It hits my nerves instantly! An intense fury to smash his face on the floor until it turns into a pulp swirls in me. I grit my teeth, making a failed attempt to dissolve my rage. The next moment, my hand rises to hit his jaw, aiming to break it and land him in hospital for at least a week but a small, clumsy, warm hand holds my fist, distracting me from my target. I look at her, frowning. Suddenly, her eyes widen as if she has seen a ghost. “Lorcan, you are bleeding!” She shrieks. My frown deepens. I touch the right corner of my lips only to find a sticky, crimson liquid on my fingers and a dull pain.Fuck! Now I have to spend my precious energy uselessly on healing this wound. I exhale and look up. That bonehead is nowhere to be found. Lucky bastard. If he stayed one more second loitering around me, I wou

Lorcan Judson“Oh brother, you guys are taking forever to come out.” Orlo bursts in followed by Dylan and the two humans whom Verena refers to as friends. “Is something interesting going on?” This blockhead. I wanna smack his head hard enough to erase that mischievous grin on his face. Dylan hits him with the shoulder, earning a glare from my idiot of a brother but the older, as usual, keeps his poker face. “You are injured?” Julia's voice reverberates, slow and calculated. Her eyes are glued to Verena's finger. She did manage to notice such minute details about her friend. Out of these three humans, Julia intrigues me. Not like a prey. Not like an interest. But something like a fellow predator. She gives off the warning vibe of a predator whose territory is entered by another hunter. My vampire instincts alarm me not to mess with her, more specifically her ‘friends’.And I do have zero interest in poking my nose into others' business. I am not free enough to entertain humans.

Lorcan Judson“What's up with the patch, brother?” Orlo inquires, swinging his hands as he walks beside me. “You know.” I side-glance at him, not giving him the attention he needs to poke me with his teasing. “I know.” He nods. “But I don't know why you need this.”“That stupid human did this,” I reply something which is so unlike me and is obvious as daylight. “And you're not gonna remove it?” Orlo waggles his eyebrows. “No.”“Since when do vampires need bandages to heal their wounds?” He stretches his hands like a cat and cracks his knuckles as his voice turns to the well-known teasing tone.“You little brat, do you want me to heal myself and then blow off my cover that I am a vampire?” I look at him, trying to maintain a poker face as Verena's caring face keeps pricking my mind whenever I think of my bandage. “That is the only reason for keeping that bandage on, right?” Orlo grins mischievously. “What other reason could there be?” I question back. “Who knows?” Orlo shrugs, s
