Semua Bab Burning In His Crimson Love: Bab 21 - Bab 30

Verena Layton“Yo gurl~” I coo, putting on my earbuds.. “Hehe…I knew you would be awake at this hour, Ms Layton.” Amara from the other side grins. It's almost 1 am, and here I am Facetiming with my bestie while applying nail polish on my super short nails. “Face mask now? Really?” Amara shakes her head as if I committed the greatest sin of the century.“Look who is talking.” I scoff, watching her remove her transparent facemask off her face. “That makes two of us.” She cackles, putting some moisturiser on her fingers. “Don’t let Julia catch us.” I wink at her, putting my finger on my lips. “No way.” She chuckles. “We are dead if she finds us chatting late at night.” Her voice drops to a whisper. “You better close your doors and windows and turn off the light.” I laugh, throwing my head back. “Julia doesn’t live near me, love.” “Right.” She sighs, applying moisturiser to her face. “I am in trouble then.” She acts as if she is checking around. “I mark myself as safe.”I giggle. “

Verena Layton “Verena, you seem so lost today.” Amara nudges my elbow, pulling me out of my daze. “Rena, you sure you're alright?” Julia grabs my elbow, stopping me. “You look pale. Did something happen yesterday?”“No.” I smile, shaking my head. “I am fine. You two are worrying too much.” I wave my hand casually, dismissing their worries. Both of them look at me like I am a rare specimen handed to a scientist. “You sure?” Both my besties say in union. “Yes, my loves.” I nod, forcing a big smile on my lips to assure them. In fact, I am ghosting them. Wrong right? But I can’t help! I have been really out of it since this morning. I woke up feeling heavy, like someone messed with my mind. Strange fragments of memories keep popping out in my mind at random times. For example, I was drinking tea when suddenly a fragment popped in my mind where…oh gosh, even remembering that makes me punch the wall out of embarrassment! So, a strange image of me kissing Lorcan wildly, as if my life de

Verena LaytonIt has been ten days since we are putting our heart and soul into the project. In the initial days or I would like to say as ‘golden days’, all the five members of our group were present. But, after three days, our situation became very similar to those TV shows depicted in college group projects- only one or two ended up doing the entire project. Currently, Julia, Lorcan and I are attending ‘group project meetings’ like some ritual every day after our classes for two to three hours. If you are wondering if the three of us click well, you are absolutely wrong. I don't know what's wrong with Julia and Lorcan. Since the very beginning, they look like they will pounce on each other the moment I take my eyes off them. As if they have been arch enemies since all their previous births. Like a particular incident yesterday, Lorcan's pen ran out of ink. Unfortunately, I left my pen box at home and ended up using Julia's pen. Lorcan, instead of asking Julia for a pen, looked

Verena LaytonI close my eyes. Time to let the cat out of the bag. I can neither keep lying to myself nor the world. “Yes.” I take a deep breath and gaze at her. “Yes, I do. I like Lorcan.”A mischievous smirk creeps on Amara's lips. “I knew it.”“What?!” I frown. “I knew you liked that boy.” She giggles, pulling her knees closer to her chest. “I saw the way you steal glances at him.” “Was it that obvious?” My eyes go wide. “As clear as day.” Her palm swipes in the air.“What should I do now?” I sit beside her, shaking her like the label that reads on a medicine bottle: shake well before use. “Confess to him?” Amara shrugs. “Me?” I point it out to myself. “You want ME to confess?” She makes a face that reads that I am a complete dumbass. “I didn't mean that.” My eyebrows scrunch up, making a face. “See, Verena.” She gently holds both my hands. “Do not confess to him immediately. Notice how he is behaving. Tomorrow you will understand if you have to charge forward or step back

Lorcan JudsonMy blood boils at the flashes of Verena's vulnerable voice. It brings back memories from hundreds of years ago when I lost my lover. No! I am not gonna lose her. Not again. The history won’t repeat itself. “Verena in danger?” Dylan looks at me. “Some bastard dared to lay his hands on her,” I growl, standing up. Orlo stands up beside me, cracking his knuckles. “Hm…looks like the fun is far from being over.”Within fifteen minutes, we are standing in front of a ruined warehouse. Even the air seems gloomier than elsewhere. And they are keeping that bubbly human here!?Dylan pats me on my shoulder before both my brothers disappear. They hide in the shadows while I stride straight into their den. I take each step carefully, moving like a ghost. My rage is already tempting me to go on a rampage, but I absolutely cannot give in to the temptation. I do not want to scare Verena more than she already is. My steps halt abruptly. Blood rushes to my head when I get glimpses of th
