It’s now or never, Harper thought.Right in front of her Grandma, she knew she had to admit her final decision. It’s not like any other fight or flight situations. It’s only a matter of time before she’ll get to know the consequences of what she’s about to ponder today. Grandma Laura’s reaction wasn’t helping as well. Her eyes were filled with worry, giving Harper the idea of what horrid things wait for her and little Hector in the future.“I won’t question your decision, Harper. I know you’ve taken long enough time to think about this.”She did, actually. But on her mind before this thought was a certain flight plan. No one’s more surprised of this than her but she’s done running away. Perhaps staying and waiting for things to unfold might not be that bad idea.“I have, Grandma. Also, I have to admit there’s some weird feelings I have for the Lycan king himself. I know it’s kind of expected but I didn’t see it coming.”The old woman frowned. Feelings? If she meant being in love with

Grandma Laura was confused on what’s really happening. Harper’s clearly panicking with how she emptied her olden cartons of clothes, the towels and toiletries at the other side, the beddings were folded. She was doing all of this with no hint of starting a conversation. “Harper, please! Talk to me! What is happening?”“We need to leave, Grandma!”Leave, why?She frowned. Not really getting where this action of hers is leading. “I don’t understand. At least tell me why.”Harper zipped the bag. Finally.“You were right. On everything you said. I saw Alpha Draco. He came and talked with Damon just now… and he admitted it. He’s his son. I heard him from his own lips myself. And… and… not just that. He also said something about the war between the two packs. You’re right, Grandma. Now with the Great Alpha in the picture, this war’s ending… and I’m afraid there will only be one Red Blood pack to remain when it ends.”A mental picture of what she just said eroded her mind. She bit the insi

Damon got out of the waiting room with the shocking news of the wolf queen’s disappearance. Hearing it the first time sounded like a lie, and he only shook it off. however, once he checked with the other men and all the corners of the camp were searched, it was hard to deny it anymore. The wolf queen was missing. “Come on, call everyone. Tell them they have to find her! She brought the prince with her; she can’t be gone!”Despite his rage, the truth of being only concerned of the wellness of his mate and his heir was prevailing on his statements. It was there, deeply buried on the undertone. Just like how it was before.Anthony jogged towards him, holding a chain with his left hand. When he neared, the king recognized it as strikingly familiar. “Laura’s gone, too. The key to the chain and the door was left on the doorstep of the cottage, my king.”Upon the mention of Laura’s name, Damon knew what had happened. He didn’t waste any more time and told Anthony for a quick emergency mee

Damon shot Harper a look which made her gasped. The usual calmness of his eyes was now gone, replaced by fiery embers of rage. “Please… don’t do this. You don’t want to do this. I know.”Her eyes watered, not wanting to hear his next words. Deep down, Harper knew what they’re going to be. And that she won’t like it. None of it. Harper reached for Damon’s arm, hoping her soft touch would be enough to make him change his mind. “Step back, Harper…. I don’t want to hurt you too.”Harper froze. No, she shook her head. This isn’t the person she knew for the past year. This isn’t Damon. It’s only a stranger hiding in his skin. On the base of her throat were the words of begging… again. It’s there on the tip of her tongue, wanting release. But she has begged enough… and it was all unheeded. To do another one would be futile at best. Harper was torn in between. What does she do now? She can’t just let him hurt her in any way. For a swift motion, Harper stepped in in front of Grandma Laur

Ignorance is bliss, they say. When you don’t have an idea on what bad things have occurred, you have no ground to be upset. You continue with the status quo you know, avoiding the fact, especially when it hurts or when it’s unacceptable. To Harper, hiding in the safest keep she could find, everything that’s happening outside was only a part of an annoying nightmare. Anytime now, she’ll wake up. She’ll open her eyes and realize that all of it was over, like an opening act done right the first time. Harper cradled Hector and thanked the little angel for not making any noise. Outside wasn’t as noisy and chaotic as she expected. What was happening in there? Damon and his two men were clearly outnumbered. She has been hiding for an hour, and when the 61st minute hit, Harper decided to get up and peek at the window, hoping to see something as good news. She saw nothing. Could it be possible that none of them advanced and only stayed on that limited area of Middleland?Harper still knows
