"Hello Jack, Mr Delgado says you can go, he would take the car out on his own," she said. she hoped he did not overhear their conversation and was trying her best to play it cool."I know he would not be driving because he is bad at it" Jack said and Joshua gasped. Aletta gave him a warning look. she did not want to give him more doubts."So I assume that you would be driving. Are you going somewhere fancy? what is going on between you and him?" Jack asked as if he was a detective trying to solve a case."Good night Jack," Aletta said before cutting off the call and breathing in relief. Her eyes dilated as she smiled at him."The floor would be empty in a few minutes so we can wait for her and go down after or we can go now" she said giving him no chance to talk about what Jack said on the phone. "Let's wait a few minutes," he said in a sulk as he walked into his office."I never knew you were such an emotional wreck," she said as she followed him into the office."I am?" he asked st

"What do you mean girlfriend?" Giselle gasped."That domineering, controlling workaholic?" Harriet added with a gasp None of the girls could believe their ears. they all went to school together so they knew what kind of person he was. He was always distant from everyone. Their parents had commented that he was the replica of his father before he found love. "Maybe it is a good thing?" Beverly said after a moment of silence. The silence allowed everyone to think over what Anette had just said."That?" Anette said in shock."That he had a girlfriend?" Beverly said in the form of a question."Of course it is, but why is it?" Penelope asked confused."Maybe Love would be able to change him?" Beverly responded. "I mean it did change his dad" she added."So who is it?" Giselle asked in shock."I don't know" Anette answered. She was not happy that they thought it was a good thing and judging from their shocked expression it meant they knew nothing about it."Maybe she is our classmate?" Ir

Joshua heard a beep on the line as the other side went silent. "Hello Anette?" he said in a repeat. He discovered that she had cut off the call.Joshua's mind went back to how he saw the news. He had successfully gotten Aletta to get dinner in a restaurant for their date but in a private room. They were having a partial nice time aside from the fact that it was kind of awkward between them. Suddenly Aletta got a call from her sister, at first she had ignored it but then the constant calls made her pick up.Her sister who was aware of the situation already called to update her that she was trending although indirectly. Nobody knew about her but they were all bashing her because they knew nothing about her.The reason everyone was so sure that the news was true was because of the source of the post. It was Penelope Lennox, she was one of the five popular girls in the city and there was no way they would put their fame and parent's empire in jeopardy by spreading false news so it had to

Aletta had chosen that time because she knew that everyone resumed work by eight and they needed a quiet time before the rush of the day."Here have this," she said pushing the cup of take-out coffee in his hands."Thank you" he murmured taking a sip and savouring the smell and taste of freshly brewed coffee. Why did he not realize it since? She knew him so well it was kind of illegal. She knew how he liked his coffee and many other things others might find extremely weird. "How did you know I would need this?" he asked following her as she made her way to his office where they would have peace."Because l could barely sleep last night and I figured that you might also be awake trying your best to figure out what to do" she said pushing the door open and entering allowing him to follow behind her."You should have allowed the gentleman to get the door for you" he murmured. "We do not have time to spell out the gender roles" she said dropping her coffee to the coffee table in front o

Aletta had left Joshua's office when he had refused to accept her solution and people had begun to resume work. She sat at her desk thinking about why he had refused to take her advice as regards the issue on the ground."Did he make you work overtime and resume earlier than the rest of us?" Julia asked catching her attention standing in front of her table."It's not like..." "I mean should he not be focused on the rumour surrounding him? Did he have to make you work overtime?" Julia asked crossing her hand over her chest. "Wait," she said suddenly her eyes widening as if she just got a revelation."Is he making you clean up his mess?" "It's nothing like that," Aletta said."Then what are you doing here so early in the morning?" Julia asked blinking multiple times."Don't you have work to get to?" Aletta said after a brief silence. She did not intend to tell her off so harshly but it had to be done so she didn't need to ask such questions again."Have a nice day" Julia murmured as s
