Lexi’s POV“W… what… what do you mean your water broke?” Darren asked and as much as I wanted to keep calm everything just kept pissing me off.“MY WATER FUCKING BROKE!” I yelled, the pain coursing through my being. I knew being in labour was painful but I had no idea that it was going to be this painful.People were watching but at this point I didn’t even care if I was the circus clown.“I can’t do this, I really can’t do this.” I cried as I held Camille but she kept imploring me to breathe when really what I want to do is stop breathing.“We need to get her to the hospital, Darren, get the damn keys!” Camille ordered and in one swift, Darren stormed to our table for the keys.My legs ached, my entire body ached and my head was spinning, everything around felt as though it was turning upside down.“Don’t close your eyes, we’re almost there.” Camille told me, I squeezed her hand tightly as the pain gripped me.I felt like life was slowly leaving my body and I knew that the car was pr

Ivan’s POVIt’s been months and there still hasn't been any good news on the search for Lexi. I knew how big the city is and I knew that finding her would be really difficult but I was willing to wait even though it took me years.I’m going to find her and atone for my sins. She doesn’t deserve to be left alone, she doesn’t deserve to be abandoned especially by the person who she thought loves her.Sighing, I dropped the document I was working on and rested my back properly on the chair as I closed my eyes.Everything just seemed so draining without Lexi. Charlotte and Vladimir managed to make me concede to letting Celine back in with me and I’d do anything for them even if it’s to put up with someone I wish that I could kill in a blink of an eye.Living with someone else and knowing that I was going to leave my office and go back home to someone I don’t want to see was mentally draining and if it weren’t for the merging that my foster parents were searching for, I knew what I’d have

Ivan’s POVGetting home, I opened the door to see Celine setting the table and I was forced to check the time again. It was 11:35 PM and usually, she’d be asleep so what’s she still doing awake.Trying my best to ignore her, I walked past her and decided to go to bed, it wouldn’t be the first, second or third time that we wouldn’t be saying anything to each other and honestly, I love the peace.“I’ve been waiting for you all night,” her voice made me stop in my tracks and I clenched my fist before I continued walking away.“If it weren’t for the tracker on your phone, I wouldn’t know you were coming home.” I stopped completely and rage smothered me as I turned to look at her.“What?”“You didn’t know? I turned your location on and had an app installed so I was going to know where you are,” she proceeded to explain like I wanted to know.“You’ve not been eating well and so I thought…” she wasn’t opportune to complete her statement because my palm was already wrapped around her neck.Ho

Lexi’s POV3 YEARS LATER.“I swear to God, I’m going to lose my fucking mind if I have to scream for these kids again!” I yelled, walking around the house in search of my kids while Camille only laughed.“You know, things like this is why I enjoy living here,” Camille said amidst laughter, “I love how you lose your shit and still manage to stay calm.” She added as she walked into her room.I should’ve known that they were there, three years only and I’d managed to be the crazy mother while Camille ended up being the fun aunt. She came back outside with both of them holding both her hands, a mischievous smile flashing across their face as Camille crouched in front of them and whispered something. They immediately left her and came running to me with bright smiles on their lips. They’re my bundles of joy but sometimes they’re just too much.“We’re sorry, mommy.” They both said in unison before running back to Camille. Sighing, I rubbed my face as I started rethinking my decision.I coul

Lexi’s POVHe kissed me until I was out of breath and almost gasping before he pulled away from me. His cold hands traced my bare arm as he stared at me intently.“I’ve been wanting to kiss you, to ravish you since you walked out the door but I had to hold myself back,” he explained.“I wanted the entire date thing to end before I do anything but I couldn’t hold myself back any longer, you’re just so beautiful.” He finished. My body reacted to him, cold shivers ran down my spine and my pussy throbbed and squirted as I looked up at him completely speechless.Goodness, I wanted him, I want him so bad that I’d really love it if he could fuck me really hard and make me forget about everything I’ve been through.I wanted Darren and I’m not really ashamed to admit it to myself.I opened my mouth to speak, I had the intention of saying something, something really meaningful but instead, I stood on my tiptoe and kissed him again. The kiss became so hard and fast that really, I wanted him to s

Lexi’s POVDarren and I had sex again and it was nothing but blissful, every minute spent with him made me forget everything I went through with Ivan. While Ivan was always rough and aggressive, Darren was sweet and made me have a say on how I wanted it to be.We laid beside each other completely out of breath and the thought of Ivan wanted to creep itself in my mind but I managed to push it to the back of my mind.Getting up from the bed, I made my way to the bathroom to freshen up and since I didn’t have anything of my own to wear because I never thought that I was going to spend the night in his house, I threw in one of his big T-shirts.“You look good,” he growled in my ear and I moaned, “you look good in basically everything.” He laughed before kissing me.“I really want to go home now, I want Adeline and Cassian to meet me at home by the time they get back.” I told him and without thinking twice he pecked my cheek.“I’ll go freshen up and when I’m done I’ll drop you off.” He sai

Ivan’s POVI feel like I’ve lost track of the person I am, I haven’t been myself in years, especially with the betrayal of my foster parents.Who would’ve known that they could think to sketch something like that? The fact that I couldn’t talk to anyone about what I’d just found bothered me everyday and sometimes even though I knew that my best friends would never do something like this. After all, they were the ones who opened my eyes to what’s really going on. A very big part of me still thinks that they might decide to turn their backs on me, leaving me alone to handle my problems myself.I groaned as I dumped the file I was working on on the table, my head aches really badly and I rubbed my temple as I swallowed.Opening my drawer, I brought out the pain killers and used it before pacing around my office and stretching since I’ve been in the same position for hours.Looking out the window, my mind darted off to Lexi and I couldn’t help but wonder how she’s doing? The fact that Cel

Lexi’s POVThe feeling of finally getting married was ethereal and I still couldn’t believe that I’m married to Darren. It was the best feeling ever. It’s been a month since our wedding and I’d already discussed with Camille that I’d atleast love to throw a wedding monthversary and I can’t wait to get Darren’s reaction.Getting back from work, I felt exhausted because of how much work I had to get done and I noticed Darren’s change in behavior but I made up my mind that it was also because of the stress.“Can I talk to you about something?” I asked him as I cleaned my makeup before turning to face him.“Sure.” He responded without actually looking away from his phone and I shrugged him off because I’ve gotten so used to him paying more attention to his phone.“I was thinking about having our one month wedding anniversary, I can tell you’re stressed and that will help you cool off a bit and…”“And whoever told you that was a good idea?” He asked, cutting me off mid sentence and finally

Lexi’s POVGroaning, I turned on the bed and my head pounded so hard that it felt like the room was spinning.“It’s getting late and you’re still sleeping, there’s a lot of work to do!” Darren yelled as I tried to sit up but at this point I couldn’t care less if he was angry or not.“I want a divorce.” I blurted out without thinking and the room fell silent for a while before getting filled up with Darren’s sinister laughter that caused chills to run down my spine.“You must be kidding,” he smirked, walking to get his jacket, “get ready and meet me in the office in…”“But I’m not kidding,” I responded, “I’m serious and I want a divorce.” I added at once.Darren turned to face me, his eyebrow raised at me as though I was crazy or out of my mind with no idea what I’m saying.“I don’t know why or what I might have done to warrant this kind of treatment from you but you’ve changed,” I continued after a while of silence with tears lingering at the back of my eyes.“And I really really do n
