Lexi’s POV“Can I see the rest of the apartment?” I asked after checking the interior, “I meant outside and stuff?” I added when I realized that she doesn’t understand what I meant.Ma’am Deborah, the landlady of the apartment I’m checking out, and I walked out of the house and to the backyard.Everything about the apartment was Serene, it had a garden view and it’s so silent that I knew if I wanted to, I could actually hear myself think. The landlady is also a nice woman and I saw no reason as to why I shouldn’t take this, it’s affordable and if I wanted to, I could get a pet dog for my babies and I.“So,” ma’am Deborah’s voice put a halt to my thoughts as I turned to see her smiling widely at me, “Do you like it?” She asked and I nodded, making my way closer to her.“I love it, I mean, it’s everything anyone could ask for and I’m not greedy.” I laughed, she took my hand and followed me back into the house.I was ready, I could see myself living a happy life here and I really don’t w

Ivan’s POVThe meeting ended and I couldn’t be any more grateful. I brought out the prepared contract and passed it to everyone on the table and I watched their facial expression change.“You know what, Mr Alessio?” One of them finally spoke, breaking the silence. Whatever is going to come with what he intends to say wouldn’t be good news, I just know it.“We need some time to really think about it, we need to know if we’re really ready to invest such a huge amount of money into this so please, give us some time to think about it.” He smiled as they all returned the piece of papers back to me.My chest tightened and my fist clenched in anger, I could feel my blood boiling and I knew that their decision to think about it was probably because of my assistant, the same assistant I know absolutely nothing about.“It’s fine, I understand it’s a huge step to take so please take all the time you need.” I smiled even though that’s not the answer I planned on giving them. It’s strange, none of

Lexi’s POVWhat was I thinking when I just called him like that?Honestly, I have absolutely no idea why I did but the good news I just got was so good that I couldn’t think of anyone else to call. I knew that I should’ve called Camille but deep down I wanted to call Ivan and share the good news with him too.I’d forgotten that if we were in good times then I wouldn’t be here in the first place, I wouldn’t be in search of a job and I wouldn’t be living alone.Sighing, I hung the call up so that I wouldn’t be tempted to say anything. I could tell that he was still sleeping from how husky his voice sounded. That voice still has a huge effect on me and I could feel my pussy squirting at the sound of his voice, cold chills ran down my spine and I knew that I was going to say something extremely stupid if I stayed on the phone.Calling Camille, she picked up on the third ring and her voice was sleepy too but soon cleared as soon as she heard my voice.“I got the job!” I shrieked and Camill

Lexi’s POVHearing Darren call me his friends was kind of shocking because here I was already misunderstanding his kindness and our relationship when he only thought I’m his friend.“Thank you.” I said and he shrugged as he helped me get in his car like I can’t get in on my own. I gave him the name of the hospital and although he tried to make the ride there lively, it was a short ride from my house and I still wasn’t in the mood to talk.We soon got to the hospital and I followed Doctor Anna to the lab so that she was going to run a few tests on me to check the condition of me and my babies.“Lexi,” she started when what I assumed to be the last test results came out, “your condition isn’t getting any better and we really need to do something about it.” Dr Anna finished with a sigh.“I understand how connected you feel to your babies, I’m a mother too so believe me, I know but what do you do when you know deep down that keeping them inside you isn’t only endangering your life but the

Lexi’s POV“You have a meeting with Quinn’s distillery today and…” I paused to catch my breath, since my belly got bigger the pace at which I do the things has gotten slower.Groaning, I took a seat opposite Darren so that I’m going to be facing him. I couldn’t be any more grateful that the bond between us had gotten stronger. He has been more supportive than I could have ever imagined and over the month, he’s been so helpful and a great friend to me.“I don’t know why you’re so stubborn, Darren started and I rolled my eyes at him. I knew what he was getting at and where this conversation was leading to.“Your doctor asked that you shouldn’t be stressing yourself and I on the other hand have been begging you to take rest but you don’t listen, now look how tired you are.” He scolded me as he stood and walked towards me.“We’re going home right now and nothing you say will change my mind.” He added, helping me up. I opened my mouth to protest but Darren was done with me.Not paying me a
