Sparring Match
"Onan." Melech called his general. "Let's spar."They had been travelling to the Kesef Kingdom for three days now and were only starting to approach the limit between the Adom Kingdom and the Kesef Kingdom. It was particularly noticeable with the change of landscapes around them:The Adom Kingdom was quite arid, with little vegetation and a lot of dry earth. Azalia had even seen a few volcanoes during their trip, none of them being in the middle of an eruption, thankfully. But the temperatures were high and the sun relentless. Azalia would do anything for some coolness. That's why the apparition of more greenery the closer they got to the Kesef Kingdom was a relief. The Kesef Kingdom was known for its mountains. Words said it could be extremely cold during the winter, with white snow covering everything, but it was late spring and so the perfect season to visit.Azalia was actually excited about arriving. She had heard that the Kesef palace was situated on top of the biggest mountain

Fervent Ardour
"Melech!" Azalia was so embarrassed she wanted to disappear. Melech had just walked away with her thrown over his shoulder in front of everyone else. It didn't take a genius to understand what they were going to be up to and Azalia felt her face warm up at the thought. "Put me down!" She tried to get Melech to let go of her. She could walk on her own and thought that being carried this way wasn't befitting of a princess. She also had no idea where Melech was taking her. There was more greenery now that they were at the limit of the Kesef Kingdom, but she had no interest in getting freaky in a bush or against a tree. Still, Melech refused to let go of her and didn't stop walking until they arrived in a clearing where a pool of water could be found. It seemed to be a natural pond, or a very small lake, the water so blue it was mesmerising. "Hey!" Azalia yelped when Melech unceremoniously dropped her into the water. "Melech!" She was angry but didn't even have time to understand what

Kesef Palace
They arrived at the Kesef palace two days later, as was planned. It was located at the top of a mountain which took some effort to hike up. It left most of the soldiers and servants quite tired... Kesef people didn't have this problem since they had wings and so could easily fly up to the palace.Azalia wished she could do the same but she guessed that riding a dragony, as Melech had so helpfully offered, would also work. Still, the Lavan princess was a little too scared to do something as dangerous yet. She was happy riding a horse for the time being."Welcome to the Kesef Kingdom." The King and Queen were there to welcome them once they had arrived. The Queen's name was Liora and, although she was reaching her fifties, she still looked incredibly beautiful in her sage-coloured dress. She had long silver hair falling down to her waist, her grey eyes and pale skin barely marked by the time. It was one of the characteristics of Kesef people: their beauty was ever-lasting.The Kesef Kin

Tender Moment
Azalia hummed as she felt soft kisses being pressed onto her shoulder. She shifted in her sleep, the Lavan princess snuggling closer to the warm body enveloping her. "Morning, little princess." Melech murmured in his low, husky voice. Azalia always loved how sexy he sounded in the morning. She burrowed her face into her future husband's muscular chest, a dreamy sigh escaping her lips in response. "Morning..." She had always liked sleeping alone in her bed, but she had to admit that waking up in Melech's arms wasn't bad at all. She could get used to it. "Did you sleep well?" Melech asked her as he started caressing her lower back with his hand. Azalia enjoyed the affectionate gesture. The banquet in the Kesef Kingdom lasted until late in the evening yesterday. Azalia had been exhausted when she and Melech had finally retired. They had been given a luxurious suite in the Kesef palace, one that had an ensuite bathroom and a breathtaking view of the Kesef Kingdom. Building a palace on t

Precious Clues
"Could you show how your powers work?" Azalia asked Esther. She and the Kesef princess had been spending a lot of time together ever since Azalia arrived at the Kesef Kingdom. It turned out that they had a lot of things in common: they were both princesses, to begin with, and that clearly helped them get close together. The life of a princess wasn't the same as the life of a commoner, or anyone else, for that matter. It came with a lot of advantages and luxuries, yes, but also with a lot of responsibilities and constraints. Azalia had never been allowed to leave the palace alone or to make friends during her childhood. She had to take classes every day to learn the proper way a princess was supposed to behave, as well as to learn everything a princess should know, starting with politics, passing through history, and ending with defense lessons. She would never complain about her position, but being a princess wasn't as easy as one could think and Azalia was glad to spend time with s

Quick Interrogation
"This way." Amos led them to the guard who knew where Yefet was. Only Melech and Azalia were accompanying him because too many people following him would probably look suspicious. The Kesef King and Queen hadn't forbidden them to go to any parts of the Kesef palace, but it was better safe than sorry. They didn't want to bring any attention to them, at least not when they were going to interrogate someone to get more information about Yefet. "It's this guard." Amos brought them to the right guy. They were staying away for the moment, the three of them standing out of the guard's sight so that they could silently study him. He had shocking blond hair and no physical characteristics belonging to any race, such as horns, whorls, or wings. It was extremely rare but some people didn't belong to any races from any kingdoms. Nobody knew why nor how it could have even happened, but these people were called Shaquf people. They were usually treated as slaves or servants, thus forcing them to l

Innocent Traitor
Melech wasted no time finding Yefet once he knew where he was hiding. Zelan helped him find the right room since he knew the Kesef palace, then left to give Melech some privacy. It was something the Adom King needed to do alone. He had waited years to get answers and, finally, he was going to have them. He knocked on the door and then waited for Yefet to open it. Turned out that the former Adom advisor had become one of the Kesef counsellors. It infuriated Melech to know that Yefet had betrayed the Adom Kingdom twice already. It certainly didn't help his case. "Yes?" The traitor opened the door just a few moments after Melech had knocked on it. He looked just like Melech remembered him, although a little older, with tanned skin, red eyes and dark hair. He had a beard he always kept well-groomed and broad shoulders, his eyes widening as soon as he realised who was standing in front of him. "P-prince Melech." Yefet's voice shook as he spoke, utter shock and disbelief written all ove

Healing Wound
"Stop worrying," Yaakov told Azalia. "I'm sure he's fine." Azalia kept looking at the door of the banquet hall, the Lavan princess desperately waiting for Melech to open it. Dinner had started one hour ago but Melech still wasn't there with them. The Adom King hadn't come back yet from his visit to Yefet. "It's not Melech I'm worried about." Azalia answered Yaakov. If there was someone they needed to be concerned about, it had to be Yefet. Who knew what Melech was doing to him right now? Still, as much as Azalia knew she had no reason to, she couldn't help but be worried about Melech as well. What if something had happened to him? What if he got arrested by Kesef guards? Azalia was doing her best to hide it, but she was worried about her future husband. "Sure." Yaakov looked at her with an amused smile on his lips. He was seeing right through her, and Azalia rolled her eyes before admitting the truth. "Fine. I'm also worried about him." She confessed. "But I'm honestly more worried

Return Journey
"It was a pleasure receiving you in the Kesef Kingdom." The Kesef King told Azalia and Melech when the time to leave had come for them. "You're welcome back any time you want." They were all standing in front of the grand entrance of the Kesef palace on top of the mountain. The sky was blue above them with no clouds on the horizon. The Kesef King and Queen, as well as their two sons and Esther, were there to see their guests out. "Thank you." Azalia smiled at them. "Our stay was most delightful." She was the one taking care of all the polite formalities but Melech was standing just a few feet behind her, showing his silent support. "We'll be happy to welcome you in the Adom Kingdom as well." "We'll keep it in mind." The Kesef Queen appreciated the offer. "Maybe we'll come for your coronation." "I would be happy to see you." It was a good idea. A lot of people would come to Azalia's coronation, people coming from all over the land. If the Kesef King and Queen came, then it would sh

Detailed Report
"Turned out Yefet wasn't a traitor." Melech started the meeting with this statement. He and Azalia, as well as the rest of the people who had accompanied them, had come back to the Adom Kingdom late in the evening yesterday. They only had a few hours of sleep before morning came and, with that, a new meeting with the High Council. It was important. Melech needed to know what had happened during his absence and needed to tell his counsellors about their journey to the Kesef Kingdom. "Are you sure he wasn't a traitor, my King?" Yael asked him. The Adom woman almost seemed disappointed by the news. "I can never be sure," Melech admitted. He had no way of knowing if Yefet had told him the truth or not, after all... "But I cannot keep living in the past." His next statement surprised almost everyone in the council room. "My parents' murder was years ago. I need to focus on other things." He had decided to truly move on and Azalia was so proud of him. She reached for Melech's hand on top
