Alex looked at his side mirror before looking in front. Three cars surrounded him, leaving only one outlet open to him.Men in black suits began alighting from those three cars after which they began to walk towards Alexander's car.Melissa almost recoiled in fear but then she remembered that she had to be a source of encouragement to Alex. If she was this way, and Alex could read her mind, then it meant that it was possible his fear could spread to her.Without travigating, Alex reversed recklessly, and then with full speed, he ran the car on full speed, taking the lurking enemies by surprise. He had just taken in the opposite direction."Alex, can we...can we fight back just this once?" Melissa asked. Now that she reasoned it, Alex and she were an Alpha and Luna to a pack and yet they couldn't even pair up to finish off those people that were coming after them."Did you ever think I didn't want to fight back all those times, huh? I only wanted to protect you. I can protect and fight

"You know, I just figured out that I can't even fight. Compared to my teenage self, I was something else." Melissa said to Alex.Alex turned to look at Melissa, trying to figure out what brought about her statement. "You remember that night in summer. You thought that you protected me but then, I had already beaten those guys to a pulp before you even came. But right now, I don't think I have even a bit of that strength and agility that I had then." Melissa said."You know, that's the strongest and most ambitious during the life of a wolf. Other times, we have to train to be stronger. That's why we train almost always, so we can be abreast with the tactics of our enemies." Alex stated matter-of-factly.That's none of Melissa's fault. There were two phases in the life of a wolf. The first phase starts when they are newly found and transformed into your wolf and the second is when they become mature adults. Most wolves were usually more active and stronger during the times they had new

"There's a controversy, sir. I tried to make him stay back till I got your instruction hit he wouldn't heed and we couldn't just make a public nuisance out of it." Kristen's right-hand nan said all these in a rush, and bowed slightly, as though he was afraid of the impending altercation."Leave. I'll take care of my brother, myself." Kristen sneered as soon as the word brother left his lips.Bowing slightly, the man left and Kristen sighed while rubbing his temples. He was actually going through a lot lately and now he didn't need one soul to add to his problems."What the fuck is going on, Kristen? How dare you kill Mum? What the fuck did she do to you?!" Jackson yelled at the top of his lungs. By all appearances, it was only a thin line of sanity that stopped him from hurling an object at Kristen."And what do you mean by that? I mean, how did you know I killed your Mum?" Kristen asked, feigning ignorance."Everyone knows you love the lavender scent. Her blood was mixed with your sc

"Excuse me. I'm going to return to the training grounds later." Melissa said to one of the men Alex had told to keep an eye on her before he left to settle a business.Getting to a closet, she leaned against the walls of the cubicle and all of a sudden, she felt a strong urge to throw up.Surprised at herself, Melissa wiped her wet mouth with a paper towel. She turned to leave only to have that same nauseous feeling again and before she knew it, she was pouring the contents of her bowels into the toilet.Melissa had no idea why but for some time now, she had been feeling extremely weak, even Alex was beginning to get worried that she might be falling sick. And this little drama a while ago just confirmed it. "Please Ma'am, may we go to the grounds now?" The bodyguard offered and Melissa nodded in the affirmative. This was the first time she was allowing a guard to help her walk. She half leaned on him as he held her hand and they went to the training center. All of a sudden, the visi

"I'm sorry, Melissa, but we couldn't just be like this forever. I just came to say that I'm sorry for everything that happened over the years." Melissa's mother, Lauren said and Melissa scoffed."How on earth do you want me to do, Lauren? You fucking saw that Dad abandoned us and then you had to leave too, huh?" By now, Melissa was already emotional."Babe, we should have this conversation inside the house," Alex said and touched Melissa's arm, causing her to calm down a bit."Please come in, Lauren." Alex invited her in and then waited for her to fully enter before he shut the door.Melissa's heartbeat and breathing increased and she felt the need to use the restroom. She got up and rushed out and then when she got there, she stared at herself in the mirror before. She splashed some water on her face, still not believing that she was experiencing what really lay out in the sitting room, waiting for her.Melissa really had a bad childhood. Her parents literally abandoned her. While he
