Chapter Fifty
MACE'S POVI, Meason Hunter was way over the moon, and back when my baby took me back, it was one of the happiest days of my life, I was all over her and couldn't get my eyes off her for even a split second. I know I messed up before but I wouldn't let any hawk in human form come even an hair's breadth close to her, I would cherish and pamper her as she deserves. In all my 35 years on earth as a made man I had never been scared of losing someone like I was when she kicked me out of the hospital, I felt my heart breaking in tiny pieces, if this is what heartbreak truly looks like, I wouldn't want to experience it ever again. I stepped outside with Ray to gather the courage to come to face her again, she has a knack for disorganizing me, I stood outside the door contemplating when best to go in. I nearly punched a hole into that fool's face when he came to see Tilda at the hospital, I would have done more damage to his stupid face when Ray came to his rescue begging me to free him for

Chapter Fifty-One
It is my second day here in the Hunter's Mansion and Mace has been nothing but sweet to me. He spends every waking moment trying so hard to make things right.I know there is danger lurking around the corner, but I decided to face every single one of them head-on as long as I have Mace. I was in the room when I got a text from Mace to come join him at the study. It was the first time he invited me into the study after we signed that damned marriage contract. I leaped off the bed and went down to the study to see Mace.On getting into the study, he was on a video chat with someone. Immediately I saw him, my brows went up in a frown, wondering why he would send for me if he was on a business call.He waved at me, smiling while beckoning for me to come over. I went to him, and he took me by the waist and made me sit on his lap, making me face the laptop screen. I was surprised to see his mom on the laptop screen."Tilda darling," she called out. I guess she was more overjoyed seeing me t

Chapter Fifty-Two
I prayed silently for the day not to end, and even if it were a dream, I would gladly remain in this dreamland. There was soft music playing in the background, and the atmosphere was just soothing. The chauffeur took our orders, and a few minutes later he appeared with plates. These days I don't feel like a princess locked away in a mansion anymore, but I feel like the center of Mace's world.I guess some are just so lucky, and I am among the lucky ones. I ate the food to my heart's content, and I was enjoying the evening without any fear of being shot at. Just when I thought the evening was going to come to an end, the fireworks started."Woah, this is so awesome," I said, grinning at Mace. He held me from behind as we watched the fireworks together. "Do you like it?" he whispered into my ears."I love it" was all I could manage to say as I watched the fireworks go off one after another. It was far more than I imagined, and I find myself falling in love with Mace Hunter over and over

MACE'S POVI had already scheduled my flight to leave for Singapore early the next morning, but I was too overwhelmed by the news Amorino broke that evening.Something was amiss, but whatever it was, I'm kind of grateful it prompted her to quickly change her mind. I quickly turned on the ignition of the car and was rushing over to her place when my phone rang.It was one of the guards stationed at Amorino's apartment. He reported the incident that occurred this evening to me."Fools," I blurted out immediately. I dropped the call. How could they be so incompetent that they can't catch the lunatic firing at them? Why they just couldn't catch that fool was far beyond my understanding."Damn!" I screamed, realizing that my Amorino might still be in danger. The more I thought I gave to it, the more grateful and depressing it became.I am grateful that Amorino is moving in with me but depressed because I know she must be worked up at the sound of gunshots. I

MACE'S POVMy face lit up in a smile in an attempt to hide the anger I felt within. I wasn't going to let anyone or anything spoil this special day for Matilda.I could see the excitement and happiness written all over her as she watched the fireworks. This little human has a weird way of making my heart race. I would rather die than see any harm come to her.We spent the rest of the night in solitude, basking in each other's love and affection. I wanted to extend my stay, seeing how happy it made her feel.I woke up the next morning and put a call through to the manager. I could tell she was happy when I commended her for the arrangement yesterday and I ordered breakfast.A few minutes later, I heard a gentle tap on the door. I opened up only to see the manager and some of the workers pushing in a tray of food."She sure knows how to lick ass," I said to myself. Room service was way beneath her pay grade, but I guess she wanted to impress me.Immediate

Chapter Fifty-Five
I was at home struggling to finish up my assignments and found it quite hard to concentrate as all I had in mind was Mace. I remembered my splendid day yesterday with him. I have just been smiling a lot these few days and sincerely pray it remains like that. I hopped in the shower after I was done with my work, trying my best to calm my nerves and not explode with another round of laughter looking at the ring. I was still in the shower when I heard a car drive in. I assume it was Mace because it was a little too late for visitors.I quickly rushed my bath and came out of the shower tying a towel. I was about to dress up when I heard his voice asking his men something, and I knew he was back. I was about to pick up my phone from the nightstand when the door opened, and I turned to see him behind me.His face lit up in a smile when our eyes locked. He hugged me from behind, planting a kiss on my shoulder."How was your day?" He asked, still holding me in his arms."It was good, but I mi

Kieran seemed a bit surprised by the news, but he quickly masked it with a smile. The girls congratulated us, and dad was glad we considered his opinion. The dinner ended a few hours later, and I was so glad that it ended on a good note. My joy knew no bounds when Kieran finally left the house."Wheeew dodged a bullet," I whispered.* * * * * * * * *I was rushing off to school; we were to write an examination that morning. I have been feeling a bit feverish these few days; I couldn't read the previous night because of the fever. It was the last paper for the semester, and I was kind of glad that we were done with the school drama so that I could concentrate on the wedding. Leo and two of the guards were with me that morning. I got off at the parking lot and rushed into the hall. Grace looked at me a bit concerned, but I just wanted to get this exam over with. I was a few minutes late for the examination. The examiner was unwilling to give me the exam paper at first, but after much pl

    Chapter Fifty-Seven
I have tried making arrangements to see Kieran, but I heard he traveled on the very day he saved me. I tried calling him but could not reach him. I kept wondering what he was hiding from and why he didn't want anyone to know that he was present on the day that I was nearly attacked by those men. I wondered if he had traveled because of the school vacation or if he was scared of something.I wanted to get to the bottom of the whole drama, but the only hiccup I was facing was how to get a hold of Kieran."Shit, I don't even know much about him." The realization made me even more scared: could he be a spy or a hitman? After a few days, I came to the conclusion that he was either hiding or that he was also abducted. I was desperate for answers and didn't know what to do. I have never seen him with any friends or family members. I called Karen to see if she heard from Kieran, but she also didn't know his whereabouts.I decided to forget about him and focus on the wedding that is a few days

KIERIAN'S POVI was still cooped up in my room, mourning my defeat, when the housekeeper yanked open the curtain, causing light to flood into the room."Ouch!" I screamed, holding my hands up to block the light."I'm sorry, sir, but you have been in here for quite a while now; I'm beginning to get worried," she said, standing close to the bed. I wanted to skin her alive, but I just couldn't; she was more like family than a housekeeper. I tossed to the other side of the bed, away from the sunshine."Do you want something to eat, sir?" I was surprised she was still here; I thought she had left already."I'm fine, could you leave me already?" I yelled at her. I heard footsteps as they retreated, and before I knew it, the door creaked open.I sighed in relief, recoiling in bed. I had been heartbroken and unable to move an inch from the bed since I came back from dinner at Mace's mansion. It wasn't as if I was sick or something, but I was too heartbroken to say

Chapter Fifty-Nine
The girls were already dressed in their dresses. We lodged in the Vienna Hotel, one of the Hunter's establishments. Even though we wanted a small wedding with only close friends and family in attendance, we wanted nothing less than luxury. I had already taken my bath and was ready for the makeup artist to doll me up.I silently prayed that my face wouldn't look puffy. I have been eating more than usual lately; it is as though I am possessed by a gluttony spirit.I slipped into my gown, and Grace helped me tie it up."It entered, that's perfect," I screamed happily. Honestly, I have been worried that the gown won't fit. It was a big relief to see how beautiful it looked on me."You're a perfect, girl," Grace said, hugging me.Grace did some finishing touches, and we were ready to step out for the ceremony.I was in the room talking with the girls and waiting to be called on when Karen walked in from the bathroom."Tilda, there is something I have been wanting to ask you," she said, lo
