Chapter 31
Anna's Point of view After a fantastic first night at the Fire pit, Ash pulls me into his arms as he whispers.“Come on, baby, Let's go home.”He pulls me outside into the waiting jeep before we make our way to his house, it's only a ten-minute drive from the Fire pit, and when we pull up outside, I immediately fall in love with the place. It's beautiful. A quaint little brick house within its own gated grounds after spending forty years locked away in a massive dark and dreary Palace, this house is perfect.Ash smiles as he turns to look at me as he asks. “So, what do you think of it from the outside?”I sigh as I reply. “It's beautiful, Ash.”He reaches out to take my hand in his as he says, “If you like the outside, just wait until you see the inside.”I take hold of his hand as he leads me to the front door; I let out a gasp as he opens the door. The house is much bigger than it looks from the outside; Jax explains how he renovated it. Extending it yet keeping with its original

Anna's point of viewThree weeks have passed, and Dylan is settling into school, although he's still not happy about it. He knows if he wants to stay with Ash at the Fire pit, then he must attend school.I'm having the time of my life; I love being at the house with Ash and Dylan. My favourite place is sitting in the kitchen overlooking the gardens. I've also found a love for cooking, remembering the meals my mum used to cook for me when I was a child.Good old-fashioned food, but then again, it was over fifty years ago.Ash often invites Stan and his wife over, along with Bear; of course, in the past couple of weeks, I've also become good friends with Stan's wife, Linda. It's good to have some female company in my life. After being separated from my mum and kept confined to the Palace, I've never really had any friends that I could call my own, I talked to a few of the Palace staff, but they were too scared of the King to make friends with me. Tonight, we have had all of the gang ove

Ash’s point of viewWhen we get back to the house, Dylan goes straight to his room, Ash walks into the kitchen, and I follow behind as I say."Ash?""What, babe." He replies with a frustrated sigh."You couldn't have stopped Areon from doing what he did to me; you were locked up in a cage."He runs his hand over his chin as he replies. "I know; I wish I could have stopped him; I will never forget what I saw that night, and it kills me that I couldn't do a thing to stop him.""I know, baby." I whisper as I wrap my arms around his back, feeling him sink against me as I rest my head on his muscular back, I whisper,"You need to speak to Dylan; he thinks you blame him for being expelled, and he did what any decent human would do; he stopped that girl from being attacked."Ash turns around, pulling me into his arms as he says. "I know, baby, he did what I couldn't."I lean up to kiss his lips as I say."Don't you dare blame yourself, Ash. You are the one who got me away from that monster,

Ash's point of view. After spending the evening at Stan's house, we come home and make love, every time with Anna gets better. I've never felt this way before, but God do I love this woman; she makes me happy, and she's so much happier in herself now the Vampire curse has been reversed; it just makes me fall in love with her a little more.Dylan has managed to put the past behind him, and the two of them are best friends these days; it's good to see the bond they share; they are like brother and sister. I guess you could say that we are our own little dysfunctional family, and it somehow works.I pull her into my arms. For once in my life, feeling contented, she sighs before she whispers quietly. "Ash, do you find the strength that Dylan processes strange for a twelve-year-old boy?"Fuck!......I don't find it strange because that boy is exactly the same as me. All my life, I've been fitter and stronger than anyone around me; that includes Bear, who is a seven-foot freak of nature. As

Ash's point of viewShe said yes, and I feel like the happiest man in the world. Tonight has been a strange night, a night full of mixed emotions. I let those emotions get the better of me as I just blurted out those four little words."Will you marry me?"In my head, I had planned to do things so differently, but she said yes!"You mean it?"I ask as she giggles, "Of course, I mean it, Ash, I cannot wait to be your wife." I chuckle as I say. "I'm sorry, I never meant to ask you like this. I wanted to make it perfect."She wipes away her tears as she whispers. "Ash, I'm glad you asked me tonight; you opened up to me tonight and told me things that nobody else knows, even though it was hard for you to do. To end this night like this is perfect."I grin before walking over to my bedside table and finding the ring that I have been hiding away; I walk back over to Anna, taking her hand in mine before dropping to my knees as I say." My beautiful little Anna, will you make me the happiest

Ash's point of view. We pull up outside the Fire pit; Dylan goes to run off to the training rings, I shout out. "Dylan, before you get kitted up, can we have a word with you and the guys. Anna and I have some news that we would like to share with you all." He lets out a frustrated sigh before he replies. "Sure." I chuckle as I help Anna out of the car, thankful I'm not a teenager anymore. We head inside; Bear is in the main ring with a group of youngsters. I'm amazed how well the big guy has settled here. The kids love him; that's once they get over the initial shock at the size of him. He nods his head as we walk in, and I shout out. "Have you got a minute, buddy?" "Yeah, sure." He replied before leaving the group of kids with one of the other fighters; he jumps through the ropes before making his way to us." "What's up, Ash?" He asks as I reply...."Let's just grab stan; then we can have a drink." Stan is in the bar area, going through the stock; he grins when we walk in. We

Anna's point of viewI watch, smiling as the three of them hug it out, I'm glad Ash has good friends, and I know these two will never let him down, and Dylan and I will always be taken care of because of Ash.These three men will always look out for us.After Ash shares a joke about his Vampire Pet owner being a bit of all right, he grabs hold of me and pulls me into the hug, and I find myself eloped in the middle of these three huge men. I've never felt as though I've belonged anywhere for a long time, but this feels right. These guys are my new family, and it feels good to have a place to call home.We end up having a few more drinks, celebrating our engagement, before Ash gets one of the other fighters to take us home so that he can leave the car at the Pit. Anna's point of viewWe're just finishing our breakfast when Bear rings to let us know that he's bringing Dylan home, telling us that he thinks it's time to speak to him about his strength.I agree with Bear; the sooner Dylan knows, the sooner we can help him understand this.Ash nods his head in agreement; although I know he's finding this hard, he knows the implications that come with this power, and once Dylan knows, it will change his life forever. Ash worries that telling him now is someone going to take a part of his childhood away.Probably because he's been there himself, but Ash had to go through this alone; Dylan has us now, a family, He wont have to deal with this alone.I put my arms around Ash's massive frame leaning my head on his chest as I whisper. "It's going to be okay, Ash, Dylan, has all of us now; we will help him to get through this."He nods his head as he whispers. "I know, baby; it's just that I know how hard this is going to be on him."I lean up and kiss his

Ash's point of view. With the help of Anna and Bear, I finally pick up the courage to tell Dylan my story; at first, I see the admiration in his eyes, but that admiration quickly fades to realisation, and when I get to the final part, fear. The feeling I know too well is the fear of the unknown, the fear of realising that you're not the same as everyone else; there is something different, something that's a little inhuman.I pull him into my arms as I say."We will get through this, kid; you're not on your own anymore; we're all here to help you."Then my heart breaks as I watch him fall apart in my arms, Dylan has built walls around him all of his life, and it's hard to forget that he is just a child.I should get it, though, because I've been in the exact same spot where he is right now, only I did it alone, but Dylan won't ever be alone in this. He has me and Anna and Bear, who I know from experience will help him to get control of his fears, and then lastly, there's Stan, the best

Ash's point of view. We spend most of Saturday in bed; what can I say? My little queen is insatiable, not that I'm complaining. I love it. Dylan has decided to have a sleepover at the Fire pit with Bear and a few of the guys. I think it's good for him to get away from the pair of us for a while and mix with the younger lads down at the Pit. I know there's no need to worry about him, not when Bear is around. And tonight, he has his fight; I've matched him with a very capable fighter. Although he doesn't know it yet, tonight is more about seeing if he has learnt to hold back rather than winning the match because I know he can win, but will he hold back? That's what I need to see. The fighter in question, Skid, has been told to goad him and try to get a reaction from him. We need to do this. We need to know that he's ready to face the world and ready to go back to school on Monday. We can't have him beating the shit out of the other kids at school; yes, he got away with it this time
