After breakfast, he went to his room first. He had thirty minutes before meeting me in the living room. I cleared my used plate and spent the next few minutes heating popcorn to munch on while watching the movie, getting a duvet for myself.Just as he said he would, William walked through the living room door exactly thirty minutes later, he walked up to the TV, switched it on, and selected a movie. He turned and made his way to the couch where I sat, settling down in the seat beside me.“What movie did you put on?” I ask seeing as he blocked my vision earlier when he was selecting a movie.“You’ll see it when it starts,” he responds with a mischievous look in his eyes.“Okay,” I say, dragging the word as I glance at him suspiciously. As the movie intro began, I knew immediately that I wasn’t going to like the movie at all.“Are you scared?” William asks, he wasn’t asking because he cared, he was asking just to spite me and I knew that with the amusement swirling in his eyes. Was this

Bailey's povIn the three days that followed, I barely saw William at the house. He shut himself in his study throughout that day and as Monday came around, he left for work even before I woke up and came back very late, later than his usual time, he was putting a lot of effort into avoiding me.William stayed away from me, limiting the conversations between us both. I knew he was avoiding me because of the kiss we had almost shared but I compelled myself into believing he was just busier at work due to the launch preparation going on at the office. He barely even spoke to anyone, on the few occasions I saw him, he would hurriedly pass by without saying a word and I didn’t like it one bit, it felt like we were going back to when I got here for the first time and the annoying part of it all was the fact that I couldn’t stop thinking about that moment that had occurred in the living room, the scene kept replaying in my head, haunting my thoughts even when my eyes were shut.Staying in

“My God!” I exclaimed, my heart racing. I dropped the statue on the floor by my side, I mentally facepalmed myself, realizing my mistake of course it was William swimming in the dark. Classic!“Why didn’t you put on a light or something, I thought maybe someone had broken in.”“Oh aren't you the brightest,” he snorts sarcastically. “Why would someone break in here to take a swim in the pool when there are loads of expensive valuable items littered around the house.”“How was I supposed to know that? I haven’t never broken into someone’s home before so you can’t blame me for trying to protect myself.” I replied defensively.“And you just had to pick one of my antique statues as a weapon?” He asks.“Of course, it makes a good weapon and it’s heavy, you should thank your stars I didn’t throw that thing at you,” I replied pointing at the statue on the floor. I bent down and picked it up, placing it down on one of the lounge chairs so I wouldn’t break it accidentally. “And why are you even

I woke up the following day, earlier than usual, looking to my side, I noticed William was still in bed, sleeping peacefully, I yawned pausing to look at him sleeping. He looked so peaceful while he slept.I stared at his sleeping form for a bit, before silently getting up from the bed, I put on my slippers while I stretched, strolling out of his room lazily. Still half asleep, I timidly walked over to the bathroom in my room. On getting there, I reached for my toothbrush and started brushing my teeth. After that, I stripped out of my clothes and put on a shower cap before walking under the shower head. I ended up spending a longer time in the shower, daydreaming and getting sidetracked. No matter how hard I tried, I was unable to get yesterday’s events out of my head. After showering, I walked into the closet picking out a simple white tank top and a black pair of shorts to go with it. I stared at my image in the mirror, combed through my hair, and packed it up with my scrunchie bef

After grocery shopping, Mario had to leave since his shift was over and I ended up making lunch all by myself. William came back home early again today, he entered the kitchen with a smile on his face.So did that mean that the kiss meant something? I wanted to ask but I kept my mouth shut so I wouldn’t bring down the mood. We had lunch and dinner together having light conversations as we ate before going up to his room to sleep. I went to my room to get showered and changed into my pajamas while William was in his bathroom. I sat on my side of the bed with my legs crossed and the duvet covering my lap as I read the novel I picked up earlier today.William’s phone buzzed on his side table signifying an incoming call.“William,” I call. I didn’t want to check the caller ID so I wouldn’t be intruding on his privacy.“Yeah.” He calls back.“Your phone, it’s ringing.” “Bring it over here.” I roll to his side of the bed and briefly glance at the caller ID before picking up the phone and
