The sweat poured down my face as Del knocked me to the floor once again. My lungs and throat were burning while I tried to catch my breath, my back was red raw and tender from the amount of times it had been slammed against the mats. "Get to your feet!" He demanded as he walked back to his position. I pushed myself up and my arms and legs wanted to buckle beneath me. I had the urge to punch him for pushing every part of my body to breaking point, but I only had myself to blame. After all, I had told him over and over not to go easy on me but the motivation just wasn't with me today. I woke up angry and frustrated with everything and we all felt the same. Sick of being watched, being isolated and confined to these walls, having to train day after day. The neverending searches, finding nothing but a random foot or shoe print that lead to nowhere. Ten days had passed since we went to Bluebay and according to the mayor, not one person had shown any interest in us all uniting, despite th

The loud banging of the main doors startled, Kiko, Kyan and myself as we just finished another session of our training. The two guards looked at Kyan with wide eyes, waiting for his command. We all stood, staring at the doors, our backs tensed, our breathing became heavier as we tried to prepare ourselves for what was on the other side of those doors. Not a sound, a tap had come from them since the day of the battle, no one had used them, as far as Talon was concerned, they were completely off limits to everyone. "Roman, go inform my father, quickly". Kyan whispered to one of the guards and with a quick nod, he dashed off to Talon's chambers. "WHO DARES TO TRESSPASS ON OUR LAND?" Kyan called out as he made his way closer to the reinforced doors, covered in metal planks and chains nailed to the old rustic ones that once stood beautiful and historic. "WE'RE SORRY, PL... PLEASE DON'T HARM US, WE... WE JUST WANTED TO TALK, WE NEED TO TALK TO ELLIE!" A woman's voice called back. "That'

"Stop that!" I said with a chuckle as Kyan flashed past me again placing another peck on my cheek. "You're making it hard to concentrate!" I tried to scold him but so far we'd been in the training room for an hour and I hadn't even broken a sweat! He was just playfully toying with me, maneuvering so fast, catching me in a quick embrace, a kiss or tapping my bum, laughing in amusement every time I missed the opportunity to tackle him."I can't help it". He called out as he whooshed to the other side of the room. "I've wanted to do this every time I trained with you!" He said with a flirty grin."Do what? Let me stand here without actually getting any training done?" "No! Kiss you.." He called back and was instantly behind me again, wrapping his arms around my waist, tucking his face into my neck. "and hold you!" He whispered and I let the pleasure tingle down my spine as he did so."Hmm, that definitely sounds more fun than regular training!" I grinned as he continued to trace my ne

Ellie's POV:My eyes felt heavy as I began to stir. I could feel a cold hard floor beneath me and a distant dripping sound was echoing around me. It slowly started to register that I wasn't in bed or anywhere that seemed familiar. I tried to blink my eyes open, only for them to feel sore to the touch and blurry. Just as I tried to move my hands to rub the blurriness away from my eyes, I could feel they were trapped, bound behind my back with cold, thick chains.I suddenly gasped as the memory came back of being in the kitchen and someone grabbing me with a cloth over my face. I started to shuffle around, moving my legs as they scraped across bits of loose rubble. Feeling vulnerable, with my lack of clear sight and no idea where I was, the quicker I tried to blink in an attempt to clear my vision. A slow sound of footsteps began to make its way across the ground and I could hear them coming closer. I kept trying to move away from whoever was approaching until my back was met with a dam

Kyan's POV:"HOW?!" I shouted across father's chamber as I paced around his center table. "HOW DID THEY HAVE TIME TO TAKE HER AND REMOVE ANY TRACKS?" "Son, we will find her!" He tried to comfort me, but nothing he could say would make a difference. There would be no comfort until she was back with us, safe and sound."I say we go back to their cave! Yes, I doubt she'd be there, but isn't it worth looking again, just in case there's anything they left behind". Magnus suggested."No". Father shook his head. "I already sent Kiko and a few others out last night, there was nothing, just a burnt out camp fire". "Then we need to search wider, further!". I demanded with a restless tone."Kyan, our lands are vast! It would take all of us in two groups to do that kind of search". Father reminded me, but I didn't care as I shrugged my shoulders."Then that's what we do!" "I agree!" Father nodded glumly. "However, the moment we separate, we put ourselves in a vulnerable position". "Something
