CHAPTER 21
When I woke up the next morning, the hot sun was shining through the glass doors and I could feel Kane’s arm was still wrapped around me. I tried not to wake him up but I turned out and he was laying there staring at me. “Morning.” I said. “Morning. How did you sleep?” He asked. “Better than I have in a long time.” “I’m glad to hear it.” He said. “So, have you got any more surprises for me today?” I asked. “Well, there’s only breakfast but then we have to get back. I’ve got meetings this afternoon. Alpha business.” He said. “Of course. The Alpha never gets a break.” I smirked. And he leaned over and kissed me. We both got up and got dressed and headed to the restaurant in the hotel to have breakfast and then we had to go back to the pack. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave. I liked the little bubble that Kane and I had been in since yesterday morning. There was no pack business, no one else interfering in our lives, no one watching us suspiciously because no one back

CHAPTER 22
KANE POV I only had a couple of meetings that afternoon and I was glad to get them over and done with. I wanted to hurry up and get back to the packhouse and surprise Savannah with a really nice dinner. She hasn’t seen my cooking skills yet and I am excited to see how she reacts. She hasn’t seen her friends in a couple of days so she’ll probably be at Malia’s for a while. No doubt gossiping like teenage girls do. I wonder if she’ll tell Malia about me being her mate. Or if she’s wanting to keep that to herself for now. I don’t mind either way. I just need to make sure when she comes home so I don’t accidentally tell people if she doesn’t want me to. As soon as I walked into the packhouse I was hit with this really strong aroma. It was really familiar to me. I knew that perfume. I was very familiar with it and I stopped dead in my tracks as soon as I closed the door. Oh no. This can’t be happening. This really can’t be happening now. I followed the scent to the living room a

CHAPTER 23
I ran back to the bedroom and I grabbed my shirt. I ordered all of my warriors to meet me out the front of the packhouse. I grabbed a map of the town and I started marking where all of her friends lived. Including Asher. If she thought that something happened between myself and Kora then she could be looking to get back at me. I mind linked Malia and I told her to get all of their friends from school and come to the packhouse as well. I needed to make sure that everyone was out looking for her. She had to come back so I could explain myself. Nothing happened with Kora. Well, next to nothing. And I needed Savannah to know that she was the only one for me. I can’t live without her. It didn’t take long for everyone to get to the packhouse and they all gathered out the front wondering what was going on. They were asking if we were under attack because of the tone in my voice. “Attention. We are not under attack. Some of you know the new girl that just arrived at the pack. Her na

CHAPTER 24
SAVANNAH POV I didn’t expect to make it to Florida as fast as I did, but truckers are pretty nice guys when it comes to a hitch hiker that really wanted a lift. And as soon as I made it to Jacksonville, I didn’t have any extra clothing with me and it had taken me two days to get here. I found my way to a residential area which took a couple of hours on foot and I found myself standing in front of a pretty nice looking house that was well maintained but it looked like a few people lived in the house. I took a deep breath before I walked up to the house and I rang the doorbell. A 33-year-old guy opened the door and looked at me weird before looking me up and down. He sniffed the air and immediately knew what I was. “Can I help you?” He asked. “Bentley. It’s me. Savannah.” I said. “Savannah. Holy shit. Is that really you?” He asked, opening the door wider. “Yeah. It’s me. It’s been a while.” I said. “Hell yeah. You were 12 last time I saw you.” He said, stepping out and h

CHAPTER 25
I was introduced to the guys mates that night over dinner. Bentley’s mate was Riley, Henry’s mate was Audrey, Carter’s mate was Melody and Casey’s mate was Ashley. And after just one meal with them, I knew that Riley and Ashley were the ones that I was going to get along with the most. The other two were a little too full on for me. Too slutty and demanding for my liking. I really didn’t like the way they treated my brothers. But I couldn’t say anything about it. They were mates. And I couldn’t come between that. I had to respect it. So I just needed to keep my mouth shut. But if they pissed me off too much, I had absolutely no problem with putting them in their places. And I don’t think my brothers realized that I was capable of doing that now. They don’t know the new me, just the 12 year old that they left behind and couldn’t defend herself for anything. That was before I even got my wolf. After dinner I was shown to the loft above the garage and it was done up really nicely. I

CHAPTER 26
KANE POV Savannah has been gone for three days now and there was absolutely no sign of her around the pack. I knew that she had snuck past the patrols and she was out of the pack now. I was miserable and missing her more than I ever imagined. Daniel was taking over the pack at the moment because I was in no shape to lead anyone. The word was definitely out now though. Savannah was my mate and she ran away. Her mother kept coming by the house in a drunken stupor and I was sick of dealing with her, so the guards were made to keep her away from me. I was afraid of what I was going to do to her if I lost my temper. And I didn’t want to be responsible for killing my mate’s mother. The alarm woke me up this morning but I ignored it and stayed in bed. I just didn’t want to get out of bed this morning. I didn’t want to face anyone or anything. I must have gone back to sleep because the next thing I knew, I was being woken up by someone in my room. I sat up in a sleepy haze and I

CHAPTER 27
SAVANNAH POV As I sat on the floor crying uncontrollably, I suddenly felt the warm hands on my arms and someone kneeling down beside me. I felt the familiar sparks flying up my arms and I spreading throughout my whole body before I was game enough to look up and look at those beautiful green eyes that I knew I was going to see staring back at me. When I did finally look at him, I could see the pain and the sorrow in his face for everything that he had caused me. Everything that he had done to me. The reason why I was here in the first place. The reason why I was hysterically crying on the ground, and I never cried. That is what pissed me off the most. I had kept it together for so long and a man had undid all of that work with one action. And I hated myself for that. For letting someone get so close to me. When I managed to calm down a little bit, I stood up from where I was sitting on the floor and I moved away from Kane and out of his hands. He stayed kneeling on the floor

“SAVANNAH.” Bentley screamed from downstairs. I looked at Kane with fear in my eyes and I ran past him and down the stairs. They weren’t in the backyard and I ran through the house to find them in the front yard. I saw men standing everywhere in the street, and Kane was right behind me as I was staring at these werewolves that were approaching the house. One man in particular was leading them. I stood there staring at him, wondering what the hell was going on and what the hell he was doing here. “Brayden.” I said, shocked. “I’m sorry Savannah. Calvin would have killed me if I didn’t lead the men to come and get you.” Brayden said. “How the fuck does Calvin even know that I’m here?” I asked. “He’s had people watching this house since you ran away from his pack. He told me to bring you back alive. I’m sorry.” He said. “Stop saying that you’re sorry. You’re not fucking sorry, you back stabbing bastard. You just want to save your own neck by sacrificing mine.” I growled.

CHAPTER 29
As soon as I was upstairs and I had put some clothes on, I was getting a little worried about what the others were going to think of me. I knew that my wolf was an anomaly and that it was hard for people to understand it. Especially an Alpha. They always had a big ego and needed to be the biggest and baddest wolf in their packs. Now that Kane had seen mine, I wasn’t sure if our conversation earlier meant anything. He might not want anything to do with me anymore. When I walked out of the loft and back around to the front of the house, Bentley was talking to a couple of neighbors who seemed to be playing dumb. Asking if this was another gang thing that was going on and Bentley said that it was. He was sorry for the disturbance. The neighbors all said that it was alright and that they will expect to see the fire going again tonight. It will probably be bigger than usual. I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on around here, but my brothers and their mates were gathering all the dea

CHAPTER 30
We waited for a couple of hours after sunrise before we finally left the house and I said goodbye to my brothers and I got all of their numbers so I could keep in touch with them and not have to come all this way to track them down. Kane and I then got in the car and we headed for the highway, through the city and going the long way around just in case we were being followed. But we couldn’t see any cars that might be following us. That was a good sign to start with. “So, where are we going? We can’t go straight home.” Kane said. “Just slowly make our way home. Going in zig zags or something like that. I really don’t know.” I said. “Calvin won’t attack my pack because he knows that he will be outnumbered. The best chance he has would be to attack while us two are traveling alone.” “I know. Which is why we are going to be keeping our eyes open. Especially in the forest areas.” I said, looking out the window. “You’re brothers seem like really good guys. I can see why you wen
