HIS SECOND CHOICE のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 121 - チャプター 130

Serena was in her bedroom, staring at the jewelry boxes in front of her, wondering which one to wear. She was getting ready for Kim's son's birthday party. Even though she had no will and energy to attend any party after her late night shift, she knew she had to make an appearance. Asher had outrightly refused to attend the celebration. But one of them had to be social and maintain relationships. He, for some reason, wasn't fond of her friends either. He hadn't said it outrightly but she had felt the vibes. The only person he liked among her friends was Ayleen. Her thoughts were interrupted by the opening of the door. "You ready?" Shanice asked as she entered her room. She was wearing a plain black bodycon dress that hugged her curves perfectly. "Yeah, almost," Serena replied, before picking up a necklace of ruby from its box and draping it around her neck."Wow. This necklace is a stunner. Where did you get it from?" Shanice asked curious, moving closer. "Asher bought it for me

He put on his shirt and trousers to go and check what was wrong with her tap. Before leaving, he walked over to sleeping Serena. Leaning over, he gently pulled her arm from underneath her with a shake of his head. This woman does gymnasium in her sleep and then complains about her aching arms and legs in the morning. After making sure she was tucked in from all sides, he pulled the cover up to her chin and planted a soft kiss on her forehead."I'll be quick," he whispered, nudging his nose with hers. He didn't know in which guest room Shanice was staying but as far as he knew his wife, he was certain she had allotted him the best of all. The room was lit too, confirming his doubt. He stood in front of the door and knocked on it. Hardly a moment had passed when the door opened and Shanice appeared. She was drenched from head to toe. Her see-through nighties barely hid anything. She smiled her most charming smile at Asher and tucked a strand behind her ear, expecting him to check her o

"Are you two arguing because of me?" Shanice questioned, her gaze darting between Asher and Serena. Asher averted his gaze from Serena and stormed out of the bathroom without acknowledging Shanice's presence. "Oh God, I am feeling so terrible right now. I am so sorry, Ren. I shouldn't have asked you to let me use your bathroom," Shanice put a hand on Serena's shoulder and apologized, faking a sorry tone. Serena quickly wiped away her tears and shook her head. "It isn't your fault," she replied lowly without meeting her gaze and made her way out of the kitchen. ....Asher returned home at 1 in the night. He stepped in through the door, carrying his jacket in one hand, only to find her waiting for him in the living hall. Asher halted in his pace when he saw her. Serena locked eyes with him and slowly got to her feet. The air between them was stiff and cold. Serena walked over and stood in front of him. She rose on her tiptoes and sniffed him. Asher rolled his eyes. "I am not dru

Serena fiddled with her fingers while eyeing him with a hesitant look. Her endurance power had crossed all its limits. She needed to go to the bathroom to relieve herself. She couldn't help but feel a little ashamed to ask him to take her to the bathroom even though he had made it clear that he didn't mind carrying her anywhere. She cast another uncertain glance at Asher, biting down on her lip, contemplating if she should disturb him or not. He was sitting behind the desk, eyes centered on his laptop screen. Asher had decided to work from home today to ensure that his clumsy wife was well taken care of and kept safe."Asher," she called. Asher turned his attention towards her. "I need to use the bathroom," she told him, voice laced with hesitance. Asher got up from his chair and strode over to her."Why am I detecting hesitance in your tone?' He asked, hoisting her up in his arms with ease. Serena locked her arms around his thick neck, an apologetic expression on her face. "I am

"Hey," Serena greeted Asher as he entered through the door. Asher responded with an exhausted smile."Tired?' Serena questioned, feeling sorry for her dear husband. Running a multinational company is no child's play. "A little," Asher sighed while dropping his bag to the chair. Serena opened her arms to him and he responded by climbing on the bed and lying over her, careful not to hurt her ankle. He buried his face in the valley of her chest and breathed deeply. Caged in each other's embrace, a sense of serenity settled deep into their bones. Smiling, Serena slipped her fingers into his hair and started sliding them through the thick waves of his locks. Asher sighed in satisfaction, loosening more. "Don't stop, sweetheart," the vibration in his voice danced through her like licks of fire. "If you dare to sleep on me again, I'll throw you off the bed," Serena warned, the threat absent in her tone. He snuggled deeper, smiling at her warning. He had developed this habit of sleepin
