Elena's POVA Perfect Double Date"Okay, okay! Hold your horses!" I grumble, wondering if Alex can hear my internal protests from his honking car. Rushing around my room, I spritz myself with perfume and snatch my things while Alex continues his relentless horn serenade. "Honey, your friend's impatient!" my mom hollers from the kitchen as if I didn't notice. I dash downstairs, bid a quick farewell to my mom, and head for the door."Wait! As much as I'm annoyed with him for making us 20 minutes late to dinner, I know he was just being a good friend; it wouldn't be fair if I put the whole blame on him.Jayson gives me a small grin. "It's okay; I know who's to blame." He looks across the booth, and I follow his eyes to see that he's looking at Alex with a knowing look.Alex throws his hands up.
