Lucianus I watched the hunter, who seemed far too interested in my prey, steal out the back door, chasing the shadow I had created. Then, I listened for her to move from the living room. I drifted inside, stealing through the shadows and stalking her down the hall to her room. She looked back and around with wide, terrified eyes as she crept down the hallway. Still, I was relieved. There were minor injuries from the crash and the people hired to kill her, but she was safe. She shuddered and crawled into bed, careful not to turn out the lights or get too close to the windows.
