Violet POV Last night was like a tornado that passed over me, leaving me confused and anxious. It was 5 AM, and I was sitting on the beanbag in my living room, sipping coffee because I couldn’t sleep at all. I had tossed and turned in my bed thinking about Dane. Jayden had dropped me back home after the disastrous date with him. I was sure that he had lost a bone or two of his spine because of the offer that irresistible Dane had made. Throughout the journey, we were both sitting in uncomfortable silence. He knew that if he breached the subject of me taking up Emily, I would burst. But the fact was that none of us was addressing the elephant in the room. My mind was in havoc, so I texted Jayden that I won’t be coming to the office today. I was taking a day’s leave to calm myself and, more importantly, to spend my day with Dave since I had promised him I would go to Disneyland with him. Mimzy had never been to Disneyland and when I was making a promise to Dave, I could see hope in

Violet POV Mimzy picked up Dave to go to the animal kingdom. I followed them, sighing in relief and despair. Even though I was in Disneyland, I couldn’t help thinking of my little tryst with Dane on the Ferris wheel. It just made me squirm all the more. Made me want him more than ever. But I had to stay away from him because of my son. The thought brought tears in my eyes. I had to sacrifice my feelings for my little bundle of joy. We reached home tired and hungry. Mimzy and I prepared a delightful meal of noodles with a lot of vegetables which all of us had heartily. Mimzy left soon, thanking me for the outing. “I’ve never had so much fun, Violet. Thank you so much!” She hugged me tightly, and I closed my eyes. I needed that hug. “You’re welcome, Mimzy,” I said, patting her back. As soon as she left, I picked up Dave to take him to bed. “Mommy, do you like the man who met you at Disneyland?” he asked with furrowed brows as I laid him on the bed and tucked him beneath the blanket.

Dane POV “Dane! Dane!” Emily called me as I walked out of the meeting room to the elevator. When I didn’t reply, she walked in the elevator with me and stopped others to enter. She pressed the close button and turned towards me with a scowl on her face. “What did you just do? You not only embarrassed me in front of the whole crowd, you even made that bitch Violet, the Director of the modeling firm? What the hell were you thinking? How could you put that rogue cunt above me?” Fury blasted in my chest and I grabbed her throat with one hand. My wolf wanted to come out and kill her. My fangs elongated and my claws jutted out. “How dare you speak like that about my mate?” I growled. My growl was so animalistic that Emily’s blood drained from her face. She started coughing and choking as tears ran down her eyes. “If I ever find you speaking crap about my mate, I will let my wolf free! You understand?” “Y—yes!” she said as she caught my wrist. “I—I am sorry Alpha! Please put me down.” It

Violet POV I was pretty surprised to see Dave happily having his dinner with Dane because he was usually unfriendly to every man in my life.Dane was having lasagna with so much concentration, it was as if he hadn’t had dinner in a long time. There were crumbs around his lips which I felt like wiping. Instead, I focused on Dave.“You’ve got it all over your face, Dave!” I said as I wiped his face with a napkin, glancing at Dane.He pushed my hand away and wiped his face with his little fingers. “I am not a baby,” he growled.Dane snapped his head at Dave and grinned while I rolled my eyes. “You are still my little baby,” I said, and wiped his face, anyway.“So, Dave, what do you want to be when you grow up?” Dane asked, scooping a large portion of lasagna from his plate.Dave blinked his eyes, licked his lips and innocently said, “I want to be like you—rich and powerful and scary. But mommy doesn’t want me to become like that.”Dane's chest swelled with pride, and a warm smile graced

Violet POV With Dane guarding me 24x7, I really didn’t know how to sneak out. Should I run away again? But that would be so horrible for my son. I let out an exasperated sigh and went off to sleep. Sharp green eyes and images of a black wolf haunted my dreams.“Mommy!” I woke up to Dave sitting on me. “Make sure you come to my school today.”“Dave,” I smiled and got up to wrap my little one in my arms. He was taking part in a musical play in the school. “I will, darling,” I said, kissing his head.“Please inform my teacher that I refuse to perform that foolish role on stage.”I rolled my eyes. Dave was so much like Dane. While children were happy in playing in that play, he found it stupid. He’d rather take part in sports and maybe play soccer with older kids. I couldn’t blame him. Those were his Alpha genes. I bopped his nose. “You are going to participate in that play, okay?” The pup needed some normalcy. After sending off to school, I rolled my hair in a messy bin, made myself cof
