Author's pov Blenda walked over to her phone on the chair, and as soon as she looked at the screen, she saw an unfamiliar number. However, the last two digits were recognizable to her. Her intuition immediately told her that this was Johnson's phone number. The name Johnson echoed in her mind, making her more apprehensive and hesitant to answer the call. A few seconds later, the call ended, and she let out a sigh of relief. "Johnson!" she thought to herself, sitting down near the phone without answering it. Before she could even blink, her phone started ringing again. This time, she picked up the call and was the first to speak. "Hello..." "Is this the goddess of beauty?"With just that statement, Blenda knew exactly who was calling. There was only one person in the world who used to call her that name years ago, and it was Johnson. It brought back sweet memories that made Blenda burst into laughter. "You still remember that statement?" she said, surprised and filled with af

Charlotte's pov When I saw Ava taking her first step towards my bathroom door, I was at a loss for words. My heart raced as if I were standing on the edge of a very high cliff. I panicked, but halfway to the bathroom, my brain came up with something to prevent her from going inside. I hurriedly positioned myself in front of her with a smile on my face and said, "Please, please, my bathroom is a complete mess, and I don't want you to see how untidy it is. I'm really sorry, and I'm even ashamed of myself." Ava looked at me and let out a sigh, not attempting to push past me. "But I need to..." she started to say. "Then let's go to your room," I interrupted with a smile, and it worked as expected. What would I have told Ava if she saw her dad with a wet body in my bathroom? It simply indicated that we had just made love together. Ava and I left my room and went to hers. I locked her door as she entered her bathroom to freshen up. Some minutes later, she came out, and thi

Charlotte's pov The moment I saw Ava's boyfriend, I was unsure of what to do. Should I take a photo of him and the woman he was entering the hotel with, or should I mind my own business? I was confused, wondering if we were both engaging in the same behavior. Despite my troubled conscience, I decided to take out my phone and snap a photo of them. However, this sudden change of plan caused me to abandon the idea of going into the hotel. All my anticipation of being with Tyler vanished from my mind. I was too afraid to approach the hotel; it felt like a lost battle. I needed to go back, which is why I had warned Tyler that going to a hotel for our rendezvous would eventually lead to trouble. I was grateful that I had already made up my mind to return to my city. As my thoughts were still in turmoil, my phone rang, and I knew without a doubt who it was. Tyler had called a few minutes ago, and I had informed him that I was heading towards the hotel. But now, I was walking away from it

Blenda's pov The screen of my phone was in front of me, displaying the missed calls from my fiance and daughter. Who should I call first? An instinctual question popped into my mind. Definitely my daughter. She must be extremely worried and eager to hear from me. I immediately dialed Ava's phone number and held it to my right ear, hoping she would answer. My heart was racing. Ava picked up the call quickly, becoming the first to speak. "Mum... where are you?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. What should I say? I rapidly searched for an answer and replied, "I'm at home," trying to calm any potential panic. I thought that response would be sufficient, and she might ask why I hadn't been answering her calls. The conversation would then proceed smoothly. However, her reply surprised me. "Mum, I vividly remember when I was growing up, you told me never to lie to the people who love me. Mum," she lowered her voice, "I'm at your house now, where are you?" I couldn't utte

Author's pov It didn't take Ava the usual amount of time to reach her mom's house. On her way there, various thoughts crossed her mind, but none seemed sufficient to explain why her mom sounded upset on the phone. Ava quickly got out of her car when she arrived at her mom's compound and hurriedly walked inside, forgetting her handbag in the car. When she reached the main door, she tried to open it, but it was locked. She immediately knocked on the door twice. "Mom! Mom!!" she called out.She waited, but there was no response after a few minutes. Frustrated, she hit the door, and her mom's voice came from inside. "Ava, did you still come? I told you not to come and to wait until tomorrow." Blenda opened the door. "Mum, what happened?" Ava asked quickly, but her mom hushed her. Blenda gently locked the door, and Ava watched as her mom walked towards her bedroom, wearing a pink nightgown. "Mom, why are you keeping me silent?" Ava asked. When she realized her mom wasn't read
