Chapter 40
Everything was a blur. A big, painful blur. Almost three weeks have passed by since the phone call from the police inspector. Nandini's parents were dead. She was now an orphan. The reason? Robbery! Ved and Priya had almost reached their house when the taxi they were in passed through an empty street. There, the taxi was stopped by an armed man with a mask over his face. At gunpoint, he had demanded cash, jewelry and any other valuable goods in their possession. Then he fired and killed Nandini's parents on the spot. They didn't even have a chance to defend themselves. The masked gunman had shot at the taxi driver too. The taxi driver was luckier than her parents. He had initially been critical but he gained consciousness after being treated at the hospital. He had given his statement once he was okay to speak. The police claimed they were doing all they could to find the killer and just like that, two very important people in her life had been taken away from her instantly. Traum

Chapter 41
Maitree looked at Manik, then back to Nandini. “Is your dislike towards each other so strong that you can’t put it aside? Think about it. If you need time to consider. I'll give you time, there's no rush. Let me know whatever you decide.”  There was a few seconds of silence before Manik spoke up. "I have no problem marrying Nandini." He said looking directly into his mother's eyes.  Shock would be an underestimate for Maitree. She wasn't expecting a yes. That too, an instant yes. Her eyes went wide and she placed a hand on her heart. She looked shocked yet overjoyed at the same time. Maitree took a few deep breaths before she looked towards Nandini in anticipation. "Even if Man

"I think giving permission for you to act out your kinks whenever you want has damaged your brain badly. We are not risking it at all, Manik. Don't even joke about it. We cannot be caught together." Nandini spoke sternly. "Alright!" Manik made a bad face. "Do I get another hug at least while she's gone?" "You do." Nandini smiled before wrapping her arms around his waist tightly once more. As she buried her head into his shoulder, her thoughts wandered back to the stole her mother had been customizing for her Initially, she had felt a pang of sadness thinking of her mother and father being unable to attend the wedding they

Nandini stirred. She was starting to gain consciousness. Her head was pounding. She opened her eyes slowly and looked around. She was in a room with no windows. It looked like she was in a basement of some sort. It was surprisingly well kept though and looked nothing like the basements out of horror movies. It looked like it was a rich person's basement that would be at the bottom of a very large and fancy house.  It was a very wide and spacious area. The ceiling was painted a vivid white. Circular, bright lights lined the edges of the ceiling. The flooring was glossy white tiles. There was absolutely no furniture apart from two tall metal candle stands that reached from the ground to the middle of the wall. Apart from that, the basement was entirely empty. There was only a small gray rug on the floor. Nandini was lying on it. N

Chapter 44
"Ah! I see, I get it. You only think about sex because you're sex hungry. You like it, don’t you? All whores like it dirty. It’s fine. I have something for you that'll convince you, that'll prove I can give you better dick than your boy can." Aryaman reached into his pocket again. He pulled out what Nandini recognised as hers. A yellow, lace edged panties which she thought she'd lost in the laundry many months ago. "How… How did you get it?" She asked, with a tremble in her voice. "I stole it from your drawer one day when Alya and I came to visit you at your place." Aryaman replied with an undertone to his voice, as if he had achieved something great. "Guess how I've been puttin

Chapter 45
Nandini stood numbly and listened as Aryaman rattled off what she had to say to Manik. She could only watch heartbroken as he took out her phone this time, grabbed her finger and pressed it to the phone so it would unlock. Then he dialed Manik, held out her phone and placed the call on speaker. It was answered at the first ring only. "Nandini, where the hell are you? Do you have any idea how worried I've been?"  Nandini heard Manik's agitated voice. Silent tears fell of her eyes as she readied herself to say the horrible words that she never thought of telling Manik ever. "Nandini?" He called out her name softly. "I'm no

If there was one thing Manik wasn't, that was an idiot. He was incredibly observant and perceptive and he wasn't about to be easily fooled. Just because Nandini one day got up and randomly spewed nonsense that didn't mean he was dumb enough to believe it. Something was wrong. Majorly wrong. He immediately knew Nandini was vulnerable. He could sense it. As soon as Nandini cut the call, he didn’t wait anymore and ran to seize Aryaman. He didn't care if it was considered a criminal offense to break into someone's house. He wasn't going to be waiting around for days for an official warrant where Nandini was involved. But Aryaman wasn't there. His house had been sealed up and it appeared he had run away. Manik still had it broken anyway. He had the place ransacked and overturned. It was odd how the gate on the driveway was smashed a

"If the worst case scenario really does turn out to happen, then I still won't give a damn! I'll drag her away from that Aryaman and bring her back with me. She's mine. She was promised to me and what has always been mine, will always remain mine. You know me, I hate giving up on my things." Manik’s voice had something which sent a chill to even Kabir’s spine. Kabir sighed, he was well aware of Manik’s stubbornness. "See I knew you were going to be toxic and possessive about the situation. You know your anger can easily get the best of you. We've seen it many times before. Can you please not let the situation get to your health and will you please work on controlling your emotions this time?" "No! Not when it comes to her. I can’t and I won’t control my possessiveness for

Chapter 48
Nandini decided to get off the train for a quick walk and breath of fresh air before she hopped back on again. She had hardly walked a few steps, when her heart lurched dangerously in her chest. Aryaman stood a few meters away from her, waiting for her arrival at the station. His face was roughly bandaged. She had no idea how he'd manage to follow her and reach there before her, but he had clearly figured out which train she had caught. But he wasn't looking at her. He was looking here and there, no doubt searching for her on the platform. His back was towards her. Aryaman hadn't seen her yet. Nandini grasped the opportunity and ran. She couldn’t let her be caught. She had no idea where she was going. The area wasn't familiar to her. She ran straight out of the station

Chapter 49
Manik pulled out his phone to direct his men to the square and come and seize Aryaman so he could be taken to jail. That's when he spotted a thick, folded up paper lying on the ground next to him. It had clearly fallen out of Aryaman's hoodie. Manik reached for it and opened it to its full size. He froze as he saw what was on it. Nandini too peeked into it from behind, her eyes opened wide in shock. It was Robail's treasured Al artwork of her. He clearly loved it so much that he tore it off his basement wall and carried it with him. “Fuck! I forgot to mention it to Manik while telling the other details. He would be so mad. Shit!” Nandini cursed herself.  Manik turned to look at Nandini questioningly. The look on her face told him sh
