Aurora After I got out of the shower, I dried myself off, put on some pajama bottoms and a T-shirt, and lay down on the bed with my eyes closed. The mattress and pillows were a lot more comfortable than I thought they'd be for a place built from logs and stone. A girl could get used to this. And everyone seemed so nice, too. The two women about my size, Laramie and Isabella, gave me some extra clothes to wear while mine were being cleaned, and one of the younger girls with azure-blue hair, Keahi, I think her name was, was kind enough to give me some of her extra toiletries.I couldn't help the smile that started to form on my face as I thought about their kindness, but it quickly faded when the larger part of me wanted to know what exactly it was that they wanted from me. Kindness never goes without payment, and the longer I stayed here, the more uneasy I felt. The deafening silence in the bedroom that I was staying in was starting to drive me insane. Being a slayer, I'm used

Freya It was early in the morning as I made my way down to the kitchen and got coffee started, Kiera still lustfully cooing in my mind. I was able to enjoy two full cups in solitude, also thinking about my time with Kaden and Zane, before the peaceful silence was broken. "Freya, right?" Lian asked as she made her way into the kitchen, grabbing a cup from the cupboard and going straight to the coffee pot. I quietly nodded my head with a slight smile. Lian snorted as she poured her coffee. "Girl, you'd get along well with Senora and Fiona. They don't like to socialize before they've had a pot of coffee .... each." "Sounds like my type of women," I replied as I let out a sigh, and Lian sat down next to me at the island. I really didn't want to socialize, not yet. I wanted to go back to thinking about what... or who... I was thinking about. But I do like Lian. She reminds me of Layla. Only with a LOT more attitude. "So, how are things going with Aiden?" An ear-to-ear smile f

Freya "Yes, we'll pick one up, don't worry about it. Come on, guys, I want to get breakfast before we go shopping," my grandma's muffled voice said from somewhere in the distance.I tried to open my eyes, but the room was dark .... or maybe my brain was somewhere else. What the fuck ..... "Hey, Freya, are you ok? You look like you saw a ghost or like you're going to throw up or... something," Lian's voice whispered in my ear while my eyes slowly started seeing the foggy colors of the kitchen. The kitchen .... I'm back in the kitchen. Did I ever even leave? "Yes, dear. Coming, dear," Grandpa groaned. But this has already happened. This exact conversation. No, this isn't right ...... this can't be right. I heard Keira groan groggily in the back of my mind, and if it wasn't for my brain spinning out of control, I would have been happy about that fact. But I was too busy trying to force my mind to think clearly. "Yeah, because all I want to do is spend the day shopping," Kaj said

Isabella I was beyond pissed off. Sam has never been the arrogant type, maybe a rude asshole, but not arrogant, so I didn't understand what was biting his ass right now. Maybe it was the stress of everything going on, or the simple fact that Seth and Rhi aren't here. Whatever it was, I wasn't tolerating his bullshit. As soon as Freya left, I went up to Sam and got right in his face, pushing my finger into his chest and backing him up against the counter as I yelled at him. "How dare you not respect what Freya had to say!" Sam crossed his arms over his chest, as if his body language alone would make me back down, but he really should know better than that. "Freya is making demands without having a valid reason! There's no point in worrying Seth and Rhi by asking them to come home for nothing; they have more than enough going on at Fiona's!"Aiden peered into the kitchen, his eyes wide as he looked between us and his phone. "Do you think that I don't know my own daughter?!" I ask

Aurora Here I was, riding a stolen horse with a runaway weimaraner following us. Do they still hang people for stealing horses? I mean, it was like he was calling me to him, so maybe he was the one who stole me. I quickly shook the thought from my mind. The real issue was the fact that I had allowed myself to be relaxed and comforted by the embrace of a stranger. A stranger that had a wonderful way of finding me time and time again .... and ruining my fucking plans. Complacency has no place in the life of a slayer. I spent years learning gymnastics, martial arts, and weaponry for my life's mission. The time, work, blood, sweat, tears, dedication .... it's my life. It's who I am. And it's all that I had. I wasn't going to allow myself to just throw it away because of a crush on a wolf-boy that I JUST met. Besides, the only reason he was even being nice to me was because of their stupid moon goddess and wolf god and ridiculous mate bond. If it wasn't for that, I'd honestly probably
