Rieka Seth and I put on comfortable lounging clothes, which consisted of pajama bottoms and T-shirts. If the humans had a problem with it, they shouldn't have come by unexpectedly. We asked Manny to take them to the larger office and stay there with them until we could get downstairs. By now, everyone else was attending to their own nightly tasks and spending quality time with those they loved. You know, like what Seth and I attempted to do. Manny left as soon as Seth and I walked in, and the human couple stood up to greet us. The man was at least six feet tall, but not as tall as Seth. He had a dark complexion and brown eyes, and was honestly pretty hot. The woman was a little shorter than me. Chapter 15 - Hunters

Cordelia I woke up from whatever nightmare I was living in, seeing the stars sparkling down at me through large skylights that I didn't recognize. Shit. Fuck. Shititty fuck-fuck. Please don't tell me all that shit seriously happened?! I saw a glowing light over to my right, and I looked over to see a clock. Who the fuck still uses a clock?! I squinted my eyes against the blurry light and saw that it was just before four in the morning. Four may have been early for most, but it was sleeping in for me. I groaned as I reached over to turn on the lamp, and a soft amber hue barely illuminated the room. The bedroom wasn't huge nor extravagant by any means. It was rustic, with log walls and wood floors, and just large enough for the queen-sized bed, a couple of dressers, and a love seat placed in front of a TV that hung on the wall. Oddly, the only windows were the skylights that covered the ceiling, but there were three doors, and I wondered which one would get me out of here.

Chapter 16 - Time Has Come

Harlee Time ticked by, and it seemed like the city was becoming more undone as each tomorrow became today's yesterday. That craziness quickly spread to other towns and cities as protests and riots popped up more frequently, keeping police officers and first responders going non-stop. I couldn't help but wonder how Lorne and Cordelia were doing, but Izzy and Mia kept assuring me that staying hidden was for my best interest. Something that I had to keep repeating over and over in my head so that I wouldn't go insane. I wandered around the quiet castle, taking in everything that I could while I was here. It really was a beautiful old building, and the simple modern renovations were a perfect fit. I wondered what the old stone walls would reveal if they could speak.
