Chapter One

LISA"Chop chop!" Suzana, the head of the house maids claps her gloved hands together. "Everything needs to be perfecto." Fresh flowers are hanging on the shelves as well as the staircases. When papa announced that my twin sister, who is two minutes older than I is to be wedded to the young twenty nine year old Lord,Lore Cavannaugh, everyone seemed to be happy. Well, everyone except me of course,"This is bad, very very bad.""Miss?" Someone addresses me and I turn to find Silas,my best friend watching me with worried eyes."Miss?" I frown. "Why are you calling me that?""You know I'm not allowed to call you by your first name,it'll be an insult to your family and house."I fold my hands over my chest and narrow my eyes."You know I don't give a crap about that, you're my best friend."A gasp sounds behind me and I know it's Suzana,I'm not even allowed to say words like crap because it's not lady like. My father happens to be a Duke, the family title comes from way back generations. Our ho

LISAI push away from Lord Lore's arms and clear my throat."I'm okay my Lord."His eyes shine with amusement."My Lord? Please just call me Lore.""I'm sorry for bumping into you,I'm a bit clumsy tonight.""No,the fault was mine.""Thank you for catching me." He nods his head and puts his hands in his perfectly pressed tuxedo pants.I go around him and walk out of the house. When I get back inside the event room,I see Mona chatting and standing in a perfect posture next to Lord Lore. The beam on my parents faces has me snatching another flute of champagne and downing it all. Then I flatten my dress and walk over, the minute I reach the circle,Mama's smile falters."Having a good evening?" I ask."Oh,my Lord, this is my twin sister,Lisa. Lisa, this is Lord Lore.""Ahh,I actually thought you had rushed off and had a change of clothes," he smiles, showcasing his pearl white teeth."You've met my youngest daughter before?" Papa says with a hint of worry in his tone, which only I and my fami

LISAA week after Mona's engagement. Everybody in the house seems to be very happy with how smoothly things are going. I keep sneaking glances at Mona, who smiles brightly enough to fool everybody but me."Stop slouching," mama whispers and I straighten. See shakes her head and continues chatting with the Countess, the Earl's wife who they invited for lunch. "So Lisa,I hope you won't get bored when your sister leaves for her own house,I understand the two of you have been inseparable since birth."The countess says politely."Of course I'll miss her," I smile at her."Well,it won't be long until you're in the same situation."I choke on my food at the words that just left her mouth."W-what?" I stutter."You'll also have a chosen suitor soon, like the Earl's son. You too seemed to get along quiet well, don't you think so,Mara?" Mama asks the countess."Uhm." She clears her throat."Is anything wrong, Mara?" Papa asks and silence falls over the table."Well you see," she dabs the corner of

LISA"I,Lord Lore Cavannaugh,do take Mona Morello as my lawfully wedded wife,to love and to cherish,to hold and to protect,in sickness and in health, for richer and for richer."Soft laughter bursts from the crowd at his statement, but the holes burning in my heart or the invisible nails clawing at my throat don't allow me to see anything to smile or laugh about. "Until death do us part."He slips the ring on my finger and I'm handed his. My heartbeat accelerates and I'm sure I'm sweating under the veil. What if he realizes it's not me when he lifts it?"I, L...I Mona Morello,do take Lord Lore Cavannaugh." I pause, the words stuck in my throat. "Hey," Lore's soft voice reaches me in a whisper. "It's okay, take your time."I swallow and draw in a sharp deep breath."I,Mona Morello,do take Lord Lore Cavannaugh as my lawfully wedded husband,to love and to cherish,to hold and to protect,in sickness and in health, for richer and for poor, until death do us part."He lifts the veil off my face an

LOREA wife,my Wife.Mona is the perfect woman, the perfectly created woman for me. The moment I saw her at that fundraising, the very second I laid my eyes on her,I knew she was the one. I still remember every detail perfectly like it all happened yesterday.I was talking to my friend Damien and an Asian couple who are our investors when she walked past us. My whole world stopped, I, stopped speaking, she was that perfect. She was in an emerald green dress and her blond hair was neatly tied on the top of her head, she walked to the farthest corner of the room and accepted a glass of champagne from the waiter, elegantly taking a sip. A young lady, probably her age, walked to her and started a conversation, seeming so excited to chat with her. She watched as the lady spoke with charisma, she wasn't smiling and she definitely didn't want company. There was this sadness etched on her face that drew me to her. A face like that deserved to smile,to be happy. In that moment,I wished to see what

LISAI get dressed and head out. Lore insisted we go for dinner at a restaurant,of course my first answer was a No. I asked if we could just eat from home instead because public appearance means me playing the romantic newly and happily wedded wife. He'll have every right to touch or kiss me and I'll have no choice but to let him. Of course he didn't take no for an answer,so here I am,being picked up by his driver on the doorstep. The moment we get to the restaurant,I'm escorted to the table where he is.When Lore sees me,he pushes from the chair and takes my hand to place a kiss at the back of it,then he leads me to my chair."You look perfect.""Thank you," I try my hardest to smile. We order our meal and he tells me about his childhood then asks me about mine. I tell him the highlights of course,in perfect Mona style, without, looking at him of course."Hmm,you and your sister are obviously close but different, you're so well collected and poised, while she seems to be...wild and out

I've never entertained the idea of marriage but this definitely isn't the marriage I thought I'd find myself in.A fake one.Where I'd have to disguise myself, pretending to be my sister. My routine has continued of course, run, hide and pretend.Lore seems to have given up on getting me to push the walls down. Silas has been cold as usual,I almost died of a heartbreak when he told me whatever we had between us was over.My parents have been highlighting the name Mona and everyone envies their perfect daughter, who caught a young billionaire Lord's eye without any effort, not even the lifting of a finger. As for Mona,it's like she's now completely vanished into thin air. Her number now says, "Does not exist."Mama still cries over her precious girl, praying for her re

LISACome on,come on.I try to pull the zipper of the dress down to no avail."Let me help you with that."I pause when Lore's voice sounds closely behind me,then I feel his presence. He gently removes my hand and starts to slowly unzip my dress. I tense and stop breathing. I don't know how long I can escape this,if Mona doesn't come back soon,am afraid i won't be able to hold off his needs. It's been two months for god's sake,I don't want to make him feel like he's nothing, because that's the way this is going. It's like his wife doesn't even want him to touch her, like she can't even stand him to the point where she doesn't look him in the eyes.My eyes lift and I find him watching me in the mirror, our eyes hold contact and I can't help but feel guilty.I'm sorry,I'm so sorry. We didn't mean to lie to you this way,I shouldn't have tricked you,I did it to save my family. Chapter Nine

LISAI keep giving Silas the signal but he doesn't walk out of the room. It's not like he can't see it or doesn't understand, he's just flat out ignoring me. This is something we used to do back then,so I'm a hundred percent sure it's on purpose. When his phone rings,he excuses himself and walks out.Papa seems busy on the phone as well, when he turns away,I take that as an opportunity to follow Silas out.I see him in the hallway and follow him there, his back is to me,so he doesn't notice when I approach him. In that moment, I don't think, it's been months since I last saw him, since I touched him. I wrap my hands around his waist from behind and he startles, then abruptly turns around, making my hands drop from his body."Lisa?" He frowns then looks around behind me with worry etched on his handsome features. "What the hell do you think you're doing?""I wanted to talk to you,you wouldn't listen,so I had to follow you out here."He looks around our surroundings one more time then drag
