Chapter Thirty-One
I’m not more than ten steps outside Roman’s room when I finally have to conclude that I’ve gotten lost. The house is so huge, literally the biggest building I’ve ever been in, most intimidating too. I keep walking, hoping I can find my way around to wherever Roman is but the more I walk the more lost I get. I’m too stubborn to admit and ask for help besides I don’t want to have to shout his name for help like some damsel in distress. I round a corner and bump into something hard which causes me to trip backwards. I nearly fall on my butt but someone grasps my arm and pulls me forward and I end up having my body pressed to a hard male chest. I look up and see three boys staring at me. The intimidating sight nearly makes me trip once more but I pull myself together. Holding me pressed to his chest is the boy I have spent minutes searching for and behind him is his cousin Damon and another guy I haven’t formally met, although I know his name is Elijah, having be

Chapter Thirty-Two
I decided not to eat the pizza in the car for fear of staining the expensive leather interior, although Roman reassured me he didn't mind, I still wasn't comfortable doing that. We drive in silence safe for a slow RnB song playing from the car's sound system. While I busy myself with marveling at the beautiful houses in the Rixon Garden estate where Roman's house is located. "I heard Mayor Crawford lives here" I say, interrupting the silence. Roman spares a glance at me before returning his focus to the road in front of him, "Yeah, his house is just up ahead" He slows down a few seconds later to point out a Victorian style building, "That is Jude's house" The house is also as beautiful as the others although it's not nearly as big as Roman's. "You are on first name basis with our Mayor?" I ask him with an amused expression because our mayor is an elderly man in his mid fifties and Roman is not even eighteen yet. So I'm wondering where the familiarity is coming from. "Hard to no

Chapter Thirty-Three
Roman’s POV As I drive home after dropping Lindsey off I go over today. Today was… a lot. For all my talking about getting Lindsey in my room, I was a bit reluctant to have her in my house. My wealth has never embarrassed me before but I'm aware Lindsey is not one to be impressed by such, I fear it might even put her off. She is neither vain nor as easily impressed as most of the girls I'm used to. My mind drifts to our conversations of this evening. It was extremely entertaining for me. She gives as much as she gets and never takes shit from me. I like it. She said she would rather see the Great Walls of China or the Eiffel Tower. Oh, Cookie, how badly I want to make your wishes come to pass. I’m tempted to take her on a trip to see these monuments. The only thing stopping me is the fact that I doubt she’ll agree to come. She doesn’t completely trust me yet and I'm okay with that. We’ll get there. Baby steps. I park outside our gate for a moment to speak to Paul. He is our head

Chapter Thirty-Four
The days pass by in an uneventful blur and it's Monday. Roman and I successfully completed and presented our essays like everyone else in class and shockingly, we passed. A distinction too. I'm thankful and this shows in the smile I give to Roman as we walk by each other to leave after the class ends. I'm walking hand in hand with Cassie who drags me along to catch up with Case before his next class so I can't pause and talk to Roman, I could only wave and give him a smile. He walks with Collins and a few other jocks which is one of the reason why I don't attempt to go to him, I'm still avoiding Collins due to the date I asked him out on. Yep, that still hasn't happened. When he tries to walk up time to talk I instantly appear to be in a hurry for one thing or the other. I'm starting to think he must know what I'm doing but he's too nice to call me out on it and I'm grateful for that. When he texts me, I tell him I've been busy with school but I wonder how long the excuse wi

Chapter Thirty-Five
Roman’s POV Our coach is a bastard. Really, I'm not even trying to be insulting but he is. Our coach, Coach Mikel is a six feet three giant oaf, scary as hell to everyone but his nine year old daughter, Hailey. He has been working us so hard for hours, because we lost our last game, which we played against Everton High Wolves, one of our rivals. The punishment is making me reconsider joining the team in the first place. I love the sport and have over seven jerseys signed by the crème de la crème of the sport from legends like Michael Jordan to Lebron James. But most importantly, I love playing the sport as a way to exercise and pass off time, I rarely enjoy competitive basketball playing. You might then be wondering why I joined Rixon High Basketball team right? Well, I did it to piss off my dad. He considers playing sports a waste of time and never wanted any of us to even glance in that direction. He initially forbade Damon, Robyn and I from participating in school activiti

Chapter Thirty-Six
It’s Wednesday and Cassie and I are maneuvering our way around the basketball court to find empty seats. Although we’re early because Cassie didn’t want to miss a single minute of the match- I really don’t know when she became a basketball fanatic- However, there’s barely any unoccupied spot left to sit on. We approach a row where we find two empty chairs, sadly there is a seat in the middle that has been occupied by a man. I turn to look around for other options but Cassie speaks. “Hey handsome do you mind moving over so I can sit with my friend?” She smiles The guy turns to look at us and I'm shocked to see it's Damon "Cookie?" He calls out to me with his eyebrows raised. Cassie looks between the two of us, surprised to see he knows me. I don't think she remembers him from the night we went to the party and he dared me to kiss him, Roman or Elijah because there's no sign of recognition in her expression. I roll my eyes at Damon before giving him a glare, "You are not allowed t

Chapter Thirty-Seven
"She's not even going to deny it?" Cassie asks, this time her question is directed at Damon although she is still referring to me. Damon laughs in response with an ‘I told you’ look on his face. I roll my eyes at the both of them, before bringing out my phone to busy myself. As I unlock the device, I hear Cassie whisper to herself, "Billionaire babies" with an annoying giggle. Oh geez. The game finishes and Rixon High basketball team wins with a landslide. The roar that followed from both girls and guys shocks me. The game was a bit interesting but I still can't relate to this joy they have. But then again, I did spend most of the time watching Roman and not the match itself. Cassie and I stand up to leave the bleachers when Damon halts us by speaking, "You can't leave. Your boy asked me to tell you to wait for him" "He did?" I ask, confused. "Yep," Damon replies, then proceeds to show me his phone screen which has on it a text message from Roman. It reads, Roman: Tell my Cooki

Chapter Thirty-Eight
We order our food and we're eating when Whitney comes along. Oh man.. "Roman..." She calls out in her whiny annoying voice. The conversations going around on the table quiets down, and Roman well he basically ignores her. She comes to were we're sat and places her hand on his chest, "It's been so long since we talked, I've missed you" she says, or whines. I raise an eyebrow at the hand she has placed on Roman's chest although it doesn't stay there for long as Roman removes it from his person and drops it like a hot disgusting item. "Don't touch me" He queries her, not even bothering to look in her direction. Not easily deterred, likely thanks to her lack of self respect, she continues on, "You played so good today... It's was so hot" She grins and I can't help the disgusted snort that comes out of my mouth. She turns to look at me as if noticing my presence for the first time. She glares at me like an unwanted insect before ask

Chapter Thirty-Nine
By the time Case and Cassie drops me off at my house, I'm exhausted. I go inside, there's loud music coming out of Leo's room which likely means there’s a girl inside. Mom's bedroom is silent but that's no surprise because I know she's working a night shift today. I decide to shower and sleep but after showering I'm unable to fall asleep. I'm tired from the depletion of adrenaline rush from my fight with Whitney but I'm more mentally tired and Roman consumes my thought. For some reason I want to talk to him. I wonder if he's still at the restaurant, if he's having fun. Or maybe he's even with a girl... Maybe it's Whitney. Ugh, why am I thinking these stupid thoughts? I'm suddenly tempted to text him. I can't explain the urge or where it's coming from. After the events of today, the way he calmly talked to me, the way his hands felt as he held my face, his lips on my temple as he kissed my forehead, the memories go on and on in my head. What is

Roman's POV It is Friday. It is also known as the day I finally make my move. I'm taking Lindsay Jordan on a date tonight and I intend to make it the most exhilarating experience she's had yet.  This morning, when I told Damon of my plan to wow Lindsey he attempted to remind me how little experience I had on the subject and tried to convince me to enlist his help. But I dont need to be a casanova to know how to please a girl. I'm Roman Masters, I have my ways.  I smile to myself and see my driver staring at me like I'm insane from the rearview mirror. My Porsche has been taken for maintenance which is more than good because I won't be needing it tonight for our date. My driver Parker is driving me to school today with my Range Rover, one of my many cars.  I asked him to drive me today although I hate being driven but because I'm bustling with too much excited energy from my incoming date to trust myself to drive today.&
