PART SIXTY-NINE (1)
[Nowo's POV] Arphen stood up and began to create a portal. It only meant that the four of them had already reached the foot of the mountain. At this very moment, all of us were excited to see them once again. A few hours had passed, and then the portal that was cast and opened by Arphen began to lighten up. A few moments after that, three people came out of it, including Blaze, Raiden, and Jack. I could see a range of emotions through their eyes and on their faces. I started to have a bad feeling about the disappointing look on their faces, but I didn't want to attract any negativity at this moment because, essentially, it wasn't the right time for it. I badly wanted to stay positive to lead them well, so I kept hoping that another one would come out from the portal. But then my hopes fell and began to shatter into pieces the moment Arphen closed the portal. "What are you doing, Arphen? Let us wait for Fraise," I asked him, trying to be as calm as possible. They didn't give me a r

PART SIXTY-NINE (2)
[Narrator's POV] Out of the four defenders sent from the dark realm, only three of them made it back to the base. Until now, the true reason behind Fraise's sudden disappearance hasn't been discussed by any of the three. "Can any of you tell us what really happened to your comrade?" Alasdair asked. "How I wish I knew something about that," Raiden uttered. "But then, Jack and I were a few steps behind them, fighting with some sort of evil creature who kept on adding up." "That's right, headmaster. Blaze and Fraise were the only ones to reach the dark lord's chamber," Jack responded. Alasdair's gaze went to Blaze's direction, and he started to ask her, "How about you? Is there something you wanted to tell us?" Blaze remained dumbfounded. She's not keeping her mouth shut on purpose, but it's just that she wasn't ready to spill any stories about what happened, especially because she's blaming herself for what happened to Fraise. "Come on, Blaze. You need to speak up," Raiden urged.

PART 70[Narrator's POV]After the defenders had prepared for the impending battle, they regrouped at the training ground. Their determination to defeat the dark lord and his servants, especially Raiden, who had lost the woman he loved, was palpable.“Um, Raiden,” Blaze approached the guy who was in the middle of his training. He was trying to concentrate on hitting the small spot on the wall, a few meters away from him. He didn’t utter any response, which left the female defender down.Blaze thought that maybe at some point, Raiden wanted to blame her for Fraise’s death, that she should be the one who died instead. She knew it isn’t right for her to have such a negative thought, especially during this time when they were just about to face their enemies. She couldn't also deny the fact that if only she became a much braver person at that moment, then maybe she could have saved her comrade. But it's indeed too late for her to think about the flaws that have happened. In an attempt to

PART SEVENTY-ONE
[Nowo’s POV]Even though the light entered me without causing any pain, I was still scared and thought it had killed me. Endings are indeed terrifying, and if someone were to claim they aren't afraid of something as natural as death, I wouldn't believe them, for there is nothing more frightening. I couldn't recall what happened after that, but I sensed something peculiar about it. It's strange how I can still hear noises, feel the hands of creatures taking me somewhere.I attempted to open my heavy eyes slowly, finding myself in the usual gloomy room I'm accustomed to waking up in. I wondered if this could be my funeral, and my soul was the only thing capable of moving and seeing. "I'm glad you're awake," someone beside me uttered. I tilted my head and saw Arphen smiling at me."What just happened?" I wondered."You passed out," he quickly responded."Oh, um." I could still feel my body aching from what happened, but with all the strength left in me, I forced my body to stand up. "Tha

PART SEVENTY-TWO (1)
[Narrator's POV]The male fairy continuously follows and always sticks around Lane after the incident that happened to her dearest Nowo. Tala knew that she needed him now the most, that she badly wanted to have someone where she could at least talk to and no one could possibly do that other than him. Lane still does the same routine she did right before Nowo got into an accident; she still helps Luna and Crystal in making the powerful potion which will be done soon. Even though she badly wanted to stay on the side of her dearest friend, she still couldn't forget the good advice of Talaa.Lane knew that Nowo is the type of woman who doesn't want to be disturbed while there were so many thoughts that she needed to think about, especially if it's kind of bad. But still, Lane never fails to pay her a visit every hour or day that counts."Any news about Nowo? Did she already talk to you?" Moha asked the female fairy who was about to get inside the potion room. Talaa let her in, and then af

PART SEVENTY-TWO (2)
[Nowo's POV]If everything he said was real and that I was born only to face the darkest fate in this land, then why do I need to be born? The headmaster as well as Arphen knew it from the start, and they chose to let me live in a big lie. All this time, I thought that my purpose could be something far different from this, but then I guess the old saying is real: I should always expect the most unexpected and horrible thing. My parents shouldn't have met each other that day, and I, on the other hand, shouldn't have been born. If the Queen is indeed a great one, if she is what I thought she is, then she shouldn't have let me live.I wish I could just die with her, so that I wouldn't have to live such a painful life. As I think of it, I begin to wonder and ask myself if there's anything more painful than knowing this fact. I wonder if I could still handle some kind of very unpleasant truth."If only Fraise were here, then maybe I could be better," I uttered to myself.I looked out of th

PART SEVENTY-THREE (1)
[Narrator's POV]"I believe that all of you have prepared yourselves well enough for this fight," the king uttered to the remaining eight defenders who were all standing in front of him.Today is also the day when Luna finally finished the potion they needed to drink, which would grant them immunity towards the curse of Algea's blood. She started giving everyone their shares of the potion."Better be sure that this potion could really protect us from danger," Jack mumbled.Due to the incredible sense of hearing that one of them possessed, Maison clearly heard Jack's doubt and told him, "You should refrain from having negative thoughts, Jack. Because that might bring you into trouble."Maison wasn't trying to pick a fight with him, but he was tired of hearing him whine every time they were about to embark on something uncertain. Like fighting without knowing if they could return safely to the base. In addition to that, he didn't want to hear anyone underestimating Luna's skills and dou

[Narrator's POV]"Why did you come with us?" Luna asked Lane. "Aren't you supposed to stay beside Nowo?" she added.Lane couldn't blame her for wondering about it because she also knew that it is completely odd for her to accompany them instead of staying beside her dearest person."She doesn't need me. I feel like I'm being abandoned for no clear reasons," the female fairy uttered while lowering her gaze."Hey, don't say that," Luna responded to her. She started tapping her back lightly with her index finger and then she continued, "Nowo will never abandon such a sweet guardian like you."Lane stared at her and asked, "If that's the case, then how come she keeps on hiding? Like she doesn't even want to talk to me anymore.""As far as I know, dear, Nowo didn't speak to anyone for days. Maybe she wasn't in a good mood these days or something really bad came up, and she ended up losing her will to interact or to do anything," she explained. It is clear that she was trying to make the fe

[Narrator's POV]Life is indeed full of surprises and uncanny events that will leave you dumbstruck for the whole moment. It is quite hard for them to catch their emotions the moment they all figured out that their female comrade is still alive. They didn't know whether to celebrate the happiness they are currently feeling right now or to put their attention to the growing fear and sadness, seeing her in a very unwell condition. The dark lord went somewhere behind Fraise. He clasped his hands on the female defender's shoulders, and then he his near the side of her face. "Wake up and take a look at those wonderful despair painted on your comrades' faces."Raiden was completely annoyed about what the dark lord did. "Don't touch her or even come near her."Pricus quickly lifted his hands away from Fraise's shoulders, "Oh my, I'm scared." He said, and then he started chuckling. A few seconds after that, he began to flash a smirk on his face and touches Fraise's hair gently, and then he su

PART SEVENTY-FOUR (2)
[Narrator's POV]Meanwhile, Helios noticed the unusually quiet person beside him. He creased his forehead and started questioning her, "Cordelia, are you alright?"Not only that she's unbelievably silent, but she was also lowering her head to the point that her chin almost reached her chest. Helios is unable to take a peek at her face because it is hidden, and the dark lord's chamber is too dark as well."Hey, kid," Helios uttered after tapping the female defender's shoulder lightly.Helios found it more strange when her body suddenly shakes, as if she was either crying or laughing. A few seconds after that, Cordelia raises her head and stares at him while flashing a wide smile on her face."Am I being weird if I say that I'm completely thrilled and fired up right now, Helios?" She responded. Her voice was too loud for the rest of the defenders to hear her."Are you being serious right now?" Jack asked her.Instead of answering him, she just stared at him still wearing that kind of cr
