Theon“Alphahood?!” Sam exclaims, his eyes wide. “You want me to be the Alpha of the Leighwen pack?”“Exactly. But if you take it, it’s not going to be Leighwen pack anymore, as conventions go. It’ll be the Kennedy pack,” I reply, and wait for him to stop gaping at me.Finally, he does and clears his throat, blushing. “Um, sorry about that,” he says. “But can you repeat that again? Is that even legal?”“Look,” I start to clarify. “Because I killed your Alpha in a duel, I'm now the Alpha of both the Rexellen and Leighwen packs, and on top of being the Alpha King as well as dealing with the current situation we’ve found ourselves in, that is far too much responsibility for me. I don’t think I’d be able to do my duty as an Alpha properly, much less a King, if I bite more than I can chew. Even if that wasn’t the case, I do not want this pack under my command. You're the Beta of the pack, and considering how your Alpha was still unmated when he met his unfortunate end, you have every righ

TheonI'm flabbergasted by this sudden change of subjects. I take a few moments to collect myself before answering his bizarre question. “I don't know anything, and neither does Callista,” I say. “Why are you asking about them all of a sudden?”Haden tilts his head. “Okay, so I’ve been thinking and I’m well aware that this is a reach, but what if her parents have something to do with her disappearance?”“Huh?” I question, not completely understanding what he's saying. “Look, I can't quite articulate it. It's just a random thought but we know nothing about her parents, and the Leighwen-sorry, Kennedy pack supposedly found her in a forest. And then she turns out to be the stealer, someone from whom the devil wants something from. Doesn't it all sound fishy to you?” he asks. “I just wonder if whatever this is has something to do with her birth family.”I think his words through carefully. Often, children get their special abilities from their parents in the supernatural world. If your

CallistaWho the hell was the woman in my dreams? She's familiar to me, but I've never seen her before. Yet I feel like I should know her. I drag my hand down my face with a groan. Goddess, why was this happening to me? Seriously, wasn't one problem at a time enough? I already got that crazy devil Xaveraq to deal with, I don't have time for oddly specific mystery women talking to me in my dreams!I get off the bed and stretch. Goddess, I need to use the toilet so bad. But this damn chain is too short for me to even reach the door that leads to the bathroom.“Xaveraq, you bastard!” I shout out crankily. “I need to use the freaking bathroom! But how am I supposed to use the freaking bathroom when I can't even reach it?!”No answer comes from the ceiling, and that pisses me up more.“Xaveraq!” I yell. “Now you choose to go MIA. Of all the fucking time-”“Geez, I'm here, stop yelling,” Xaveraq's voice comes, and I nearly sigh in relief. “What did I tell you about blood pressure before? I

Callista“You're...you're that werebear!” I stammer as I stare at the blond man with cold eyes whose face is more than familiar in my nightmares.I remember him from that fateful night when he carried me through a forest under the light of the full moon only to lay me on a stone slab that was meant to be my deathbed. I remember him standing next to his Alpha in his office room as they watched me squirm on a chair, bound to it as I gave them a fake name and lied about my identity. I remember him carrying me into a room that was so full of darkness that it shattered my mind. I don't remember his surname; it has been purged away with the darkness that the Chamber of Despair instilled in my mind. I don't even remember his Alpha's name. But I do remember how cruel they were to me.“And you're actually a werewolf whose name isn't ‘Sharon’,” Edwin snaps taking a step toward me. I take a couple of steps back and feel the bedframe hit the back of my legs. Crap, I'm trapped here with a bear

TheonI entered the room that contained Kellin, Haden, Alan, and Terrel, all sitting and muttering at one another. As soon as I entered the room they died down and all of them stared at me eagerly.“So, Master Tsertinand found where Callista is,” I got straight to the point. “And guess what, she's being held by the bears from the Teller pack along with the devil, and the two of them seem to be allied.”My colleagues gape at me, and I don't blame them for being surprised at the news. No one saw this one coming.“How?” asks Haden, his voice high-pitched. “Why?!”“I don't know, but that's the situation,” I look at each of them. “So, I'm going to go rescue her.”“Alone?” Kellin questions but I shake my head.“The witches would join me. I don't want to risk any of you, especially against the Teller pack and the devil,” I say. “We need to have a small group because we have to be shielded from the devil. We got a plan that has the potential to work.”“You're going there alone?” Haden exclaim
