TheonAs soon as the Headmistress gives us the signal, Ophelia lifts herself off the ground using her vines and shoots out of the trees. We follow her out, Haden and I shifted to our wolf forms, Master Tsertinand wielding his magical disc, Kiran holding two daggers that look lethal along with a multitude of amulets, and Leita with her vast knowledge of spells and ability to call any animal within the range. As soon as we burst through the tree line, I notice the house and the army of werebears. There might be three or four dozen of them surrounding the hunting lodge-style house that stands in the middle of a grassy field. Some of them are turned while many of them are still in their human forms.I noticed the Gamma who I fought against, Edwin Teller, in the front, standing with his claws out, ready to attack in any given movement. The Headmistress is standing facing a man who is not visible through the trees. The bears get ready to face the witches, and as soon as we appear, they st

CallistaAs soon as I exit the room, I stumble upon a girl who screams upon seeing me.I arm myself with my chain, not caring about her age. She looks old enough to have found her bear. The chain is bundled up with the piece of the bed post and the padlock, giving it a good heft, and I for a fact know that it would knock her out with one strike. “No, please don't hit me, I'm innocent!” She raises her hands in her defense as she stumbles back against the wall.“Who are you?” I snarl, not believing her entirely.“I just work in the pack house, please, I got nothing to do with what's going on!” The girl pleads, her expression filled with panic and fear. “I'm the one who brought you the food so Master Xaveraq could take them to you!”A quick thought passes through my mind.“You know Xaveraq?” I demand and she nods. “I was the one tending to all his needs. My Alpha assigned me to him,” she answers, and I hold the chain and point to it.“In that case, you got any idea where the key to thi

CallistaTheon immediately turns into his human form as soon as he sees me.“Callista?!” he questions, his eyes wide. But I don't answer him. Instead, I run toward him and tackle him in a hug. Before I'd felt like a puzzle with all its pieces messed up, but as soon as we touch, his skin to mine, I suddenly feel complete.Suddenly, everything is right in my world.Suddenly, the anxiety and sheer fear that I've been feeling in the last four days come to an end.I drink in his scent and his heat seeps through my clothes, and I feel his heartbeat next to mine, racing, just like mine is. “You're here…” I hear him exclaim, his voice barely above a whisper, shaking as if he can't believe it. I feel elated, I feel secure, I feel as if the shuddering ground had come to a stop underneath my feet. “Oh, my Goddess,” I whisper in his ear, hugging him tightly. His arms are around me as well, squeezing me until I feel breathless. “I was so scared that I won't ever see you again.”“I would never

TheonI've had it with this bear. He's been a pain in the neck ever since he kidnapped Callista, and he was not going to give up on us. I know that he's out for revenge, given how I'd basically wreaked havoc in their pack. I was not sorry about that at all. The fuckers tortured my mate. They should be glad that I didn't kill them all at once. But no, the werebears do not seem to have that gratitude, because they've assisted Xaveraq in kidnapping and imprisoning my mate again. Edwin Teller is big, bigger than the other bears we've fought due to being the Alpha, but I know that most of the time, bigger did not mean better. And it's evident in his fighting style.Teller may have been a Gamma before becoming the Alpha, but his posture is shit. He's relying on his size and strength too much to be tactical in his offense, and Haden and I use this to our advantage. While Haden distracts him by biting and clawing at his backside, I attack him from the front. Every time Teller turns to stri

TheonWe walk back to the Teller pack, and it’s a pretty long hike. When I ran through the forest, I had no idea that I was running this far, but it seems that I have traveled half the length of the forest.By the end of the return trip, I am more exhausted than I ever was. The barrier around the pack is gone with the escape of the devil, and anyone could see the campsite and the pack house.Snow is falling on the land yet again, and the bears who hadn’t participated in the battle had come out of hiding, fearfully, looking like the witches cast imprisonment spells on them, one by one after healing their wounds. There are many more witches than there were before, helping with the efforts. “Where did they come from?” I ask curiously from Leita and Ophelia. “Matron Aldar teleported them. We can’t handle all of the bears with just us seven, so we called for help. Besides, can’t let the bears bleed to death, right?” Ophelia shrugs. “Waste of an effort if you ask me,” Haden grumbles dar
