Lydia drove to the cemetery and knelt before her mother's headstone, as if talking to it would resolve the current predicament. Sobbing, she told her everything: how things went apart, how Lydia's father smoothed his lips and turned her into a villain. She fell asleep while sobbing and spilling her heart out.
