AVERY “ I was scared last night, My King. It felt like someone was trying to kill me right under your nose. ” I bat my lashes, sliding a little closer to him, occupying more space between his parted thighs. AVERYHis eyes, wide and round stare back at me while his hand gestures at me to do something. I can’t make sense of it. I think he wants me closer, or maybe, he wants me gone.“ Don’t. ” I murmur, again and again and again but they pay no heed to it.My words mean nothing to them tonight. AVERY Anger bubbles to my head and I push at his chest harder, almost fighting to break free of his vice grip. For a moment, I think he won’t let me go and that thought sucks the soul out of me but with a delay of a second, his lips part from my immobile ones. Hungry for another touch, he tilts his head and dives in again but I turn my head away. My heart almost breaks out of my ribcages when his lips land on my neck, his hot breath fanning my sensitive skin. The muscles in my thighs clench as the ache grows. The need for a mate is an undeniable truth but…I can’t forget what he did to me, not once but repeatedly. AVERY“ You seem to be in a bad mood, Draven. AVERY My body grows heavy before my head and heart do. Unable to believe it, I shake my head repeatedly. “ I saw Amelia. Aleister said she is his half-sister and she is alive! ” “ That’s because Amelia’s mother ran away from the South before she was born. AVERY I have seen the darkness in life. A kind of darkness that can blind a person. I experienced it when Aleister locked me in that room but it didn’t scare me. The pitch-black darkness in front of my eyes now is far scarier than any of the previous encounters. I push my hand forward. The terrifying lack of light clings to it and in a moment, my arm disappears from my sight. Even the light behind me can not illuminate whatever this place is. Shaking my head, I quietly pull my hand back. Maybe, this is some twisted practice room for Aleister. It can be possible, given that I saw him manipulating the shadows in the throne room earlier. AVERY I can feel myself growing dizzy. The worst that can happen in this situation is fainting. I don’t want that. I would hate to have someone tending to my wounds, such deep penetrative injury while I am out of my senses. It will bring back a sense of panic when I wake up.
