CHAPTER 41

FREYA Erik and I have been busy training the pack warriors, but for me also some of the females. And everyone has been doing really good. Erik and I have not been to the small village where my dad’s people are. And we planned to go there today to see how everything is going there.Jacob is busy, but that is okay. I know there have been reports of many attacks on other packs. And Jacob and the other Alpha’s are planning a meeting to see if there is a way to stop it.I met Erik outside the house after I had been in Jacob’s office to tell him I was going. Together, we silently walked through the forest, and Erik seemed nervous.“Are you okay, Erik? You are very quiet.” I ask him.“I am nervous. Not everyone liked that you moved. And now I did, I’m worried what their reaction will be.” He admits.“It will be okay,” I promise him, and he nods his head.“Did it hurt to change? To shift?” He asks, and I look at him.“I won’t lie, yes it did. Why, you ask?”“I asked Shannon if there was any

JACOB I am out for a run with Ryan and Silas, checking all the weaker spots or more risky spots of our borders. After we were done, we walked back at normal speed, and I felt them looking at me.‘Okay, why are you so disgustingly happy.’ Ryan asks in the open mindlink between the three of us.‘I guess I can tell you.’ I say teasingly.‘Just spit it out, buddy.’ Silas says and laughs.‘Freya is pregnant.’ I tell them.‘What, wow, when was she in heat?’ Ryan ask.‘We are not entirely sure. But we remember one certain time that could have been that. We read that heat for an ice wolf is not the same because the moon wants the wolf to be available if needed.’ I tell them.‘Jacob, that’s good. She will be spared for it. All the wolves I’ve met say that it is not fun at all.’ Silas says. And he has a good point.‘I can't believe I say this, but Silas is right, she will be free of a lot of pain. Having your mate in heat sounds fun, but it really isn’t. So be happy.’ Ryan says.‘Thanks, guys,

FREYA When I woke up, I already knew what I had to do today. I needed to visit the village and find out for sure what was going on. Jacob was comfortable with letting me go alone so he asked that I would wait for him. While I was waiting for him, I went to see Erik, who now oversees all the weapon training, as I couldn’t risk getting hit in the stomach. He smiled when he saw me come towards them and told them to keep going.“Hello Freya, can’t stay away can’t you.” He laughs warmly.“Hello Erik, always good to see how it is going. But I also have to tell you something.” I say, and he looks at me closely before we sit down and waits for me to talk.“It looks like Ben has taken a small boat to go home,” I tell him, and I see the worry form in Erik’s eyes.“What. How do you know? Didn’t anyone try to stop him?” He asks, and I shake my head.“Probably not. He was the last one to have a warrior experience there. None of the others would know how to hold him back.” I say and he nods his he

FREYA “The baby looks just the way it should, Luna.” The Doctor says.“Can you see the gender?” I ask her, and she moves the ultrasound wand around on my stomach.Jacob isn’t here. He left two days ago to help a nearby small pack that hunters had attacked. So I have been here helping Alan with the pack, but today was my doctor's appointment. So I here I was alone, or I thought I was. The door opened, and Laura came in, looking as if she had rushed to get there.“Am I too late?” She asked, and Doctor Lisa and I laughed.“No, Luna, you are just in time. Sit down, and I will see if this little one will let me see if it’s a boy or a girl.” Doctor Lisa said, and Laura sat down next to me and smiled.“Sorry, I’m late. Alan needed help for a minute.” She says.“It is okay, and I didn’t think anyone would be here,” I say.“Oh darling, I wasn’t going g to let you go alone. Plus Jacob would not be happy if I didn’t make sure someone was here with you. And with Ryan and Sophie out for these two
