Karen arrived home with Kevin in a convoy. It was the first time they had ridden a car together. The atmosphere was really tensed that Karen was scared to even speak. When she stepped out of the car, Mrs Kord approached her as the convoy stopped in front of the mansion. Guests were already arriving and piling their way into the mansion. Soft, romantic music filled the air. Looking around, Karen could not find Elliot or Selene."Karen," Mrs Kord placed a hand on her shoulder "I've been meaning to speak with you.""Of course mother," Karen answered as she watched Kevin lean lazily on the body of his car, perhaps waiting for her. He looked hot with that lackadaisical look on his face and Karen had to struggle to concentrate her focus on Mrs Kord."Have you been able to..to speak with Kevin?" she asked, glancing at her son. Although she preferred Karen to Selene as a wife to her son, she knew the pain that Kevin was feeling. As a child, he was always around Selene. Mrs Kord knew long ago

"Oh my God!" the guests yelled as they stepped back, creating space and leaving the four of them in the middle.Karen immediately grabbed onto Kevin's arm and said, "Kevin,"He turned to her and said in rage, "You let him touch you inappropriately!""I...I didn't realize," responded Karen as she watched Selene help the bleeding Elliot up. It seemed that Kevin's punch had landed on his nose and broken it.Selene glared at Karen and yelled, "See what you've caused, you slut!"Furious, she charged towards her with her hands high up in the air.Karen shut her eyes, preparing for a hit across her face however nothing came. The guests gasping flipped Karen's eyes open and she stared at the scene before her.It appeared that Kevin stood in front of her and stopped Selene from hitting her. "What do you think you're doing, Kevin?!" yelled an even more furious Selene, "You dare to hold my hand because of that despicable-""Enough!" Kevin snapped, pushing her hand away causing the guests to yel

He couldn't help but feel bad even though he had hurt her on purpose."Hey," his ex girlfriend, Amelia brought him back from the world of thoughts "What are you thinking about? Are you not happy to see me again?"As the waiter left to bring their orders, Amelia held Ian's hands in hers. She was the woman who turned Ian from a thoughtful and loving person to a cold and heartless one. While he was deeply in love with her, she was seeing someone else and eventually got caught. She fled the country for grad school, leaving Ian with the explanation that he misunderstood the whole situation. The person he had seen her with was her ex who wanted her back and nothing more. She was now back two years later from her grad school and wanted to see Ian. Since their families are great friends, Ian did not have the heart to say no. However, the real truth is that he missed her all those years and did not waste a second agreeing to the offer. He relaxed in his chair, drawing his hands away from her gr

It was then Amelia recognized Kevin. She walked over to him and threw her arms around him. Back then, Kevin was also cold and indifferent but she had a way of poking him."It's you, Kevin! Do you remember me?" she withdrew from the hug. "It's Amelia! Ian's girlfriend! I am back from my study abroad!"After seeing Karen's angry look, he pushed Amelia off him."This is a conference room, Amy," he said as he got up on his feet "Wait for us in my office.""No!" she disagreed and took the empty chair beside Ian "I will wait here."She wasn't about to leave Ian with that woman who had her eyes on her all this while."Then you must not cause any disturbance!" Kevin said "If you do, I'll have to throw you out!""Oh, Kevin.. you're still indifferent after all these years! But I promise not to cause any commotion."After she said this, Kevin settled down and the presentation began. Karen took the front of the room and with the aid of the projector which Sam controlled from her chair, she was abl

"Kord!" Mrs Kord sprang up to her feet, red with rage "Why do you always create rifts?!"Mr Kord stared at her and said calmly, "Don't interrupt me."He turned to both his sons, "The first of you to give me a son will have a greater share in my will.""You're not sick! You're healthy and strong, why are you suddenly talking of death? Why do you want to create a will now?!" Mrs Kord whined but Mr Kord was not in the mood to argue.Having said his piece, he rose up on his feet and said before leaving, "Enjoy your dinner."Marie was not satisfied. She left the dinner table and followed Mr Kord up the stairs. At her departure, the dinner table suddenly turned quiet and no one was eating anymore.Karen would have given anything in the world to protect Kevin from his father's cruel ways however, this is impossible. She didn't think Kevin would want to have a baby with her. Besides, she was not sure if her condition will let her carry a baby successfully. Meanwhile, there was Selene. Just th
