At Lt. Col. Smirnoff's ApartmentHe was in a quandary after the chat with the Deputy Head of State. He was sitting in the parlor when his wife, Ruth was discussing freely with him from the kitchen but he was not as responsive as she expected especially when she cracked some jokes. She walked up to him and asked, “What is troubling you, hubby?” At first, he ignored her but when she persisted, he cheered up and lied, “Forgive my absent-mindedness. I was thinking of the victory of Savannah over her enemies.”His wife picked interest in the war and asked, “What about the war?”“Imagine if an enemy attacked our country.”“Oh, my God. I pray it won't happen.”“I pray so, too.”Afterward, his wife returned to the kitchen while he continued watching his television. Then, his phone rang and he was attracted to it. He picked it up from the center table and was disoriented when he saw the caller. Many thoughts flickered through his mind while he only looked at it until it timed out.“He has d

At The Canterbury Defense AcademyThe Commandant's question was as though he was asking his friends and Gerald began with apologies, “We apologize, Lt. Colonel for not returning to school as we promised.”“Why?” He asked with concern.“We were sick and the Head of State took us to the hospital and insisted that we must return with our food.”The Commandant's eyes widened in astonishment. He looked at them again and asked, “Were you the boys at the Headquarters' gate?”“Yes, Commandant,” Gerald answered shyly. The Commandant was astounded and he looked into their eyes and asked, “How are you?”“We are fine, Commandant.”“I'm delighted to hear that. What are your names?”“My name is Gerald Dickson and my brother's name is Samuel Dickson.”“I see. I'm glad to have you back, Gerald and Samuel.”“Thank you, Commandant,” they responded simultaneously.“It's all right. Run along so that you will not be late for lessons.”“Thank you, Commandant,” they responded gladly and carried their stuff

However, he attributed it to a slight on his office and barked, “All of you, go down on your knees.”“We apologize, …,” one of them tried to apologize instead of kneeling.“Don't disobey my order or you will be in for it,” he interrupted him and warned. Presently, they were on their knees and George faced the Corporal and inquired, “Where is the guardroom?”“It's beside the Maintenance Department, General," he answered.“That is good. Let them hop to the guardroom and lock them up. They will be there until I say otherwise.”“I got it, General,” he answered and they hopped to the guardroom which was two thousand meters away.Meanwhile, they were not aware of their offenses. They attributed the punishment to not walking fast to him and nothing more.In The OfficeAfter George and the Gener

He showed some relief and appreciated her, “Thank you for that.”She walked into the Head of State's office and the moment he saw her, he instructed, “I am aware that he is around. Ask him to wait a bit. We are waiting for Lt. Col. Smirnoff to join us.” “I got it, Your Excellency,” she said and walked back to her office. She looked at the Commandant's eager face and passed the message to him.Nevertheless, he was unaware that the meeting involved Ben but he informed the Secretary, “Let him know that Lt. Col. Smirnoff was rushed to the hospital a few minutes ago and may not show up any moment soon.”The Secretary was disoriented and did not conceal it. Instantly, she asked, “What! Was he sick?” “I think so.”“A moment please,” she said and walked briskly back to the office. Now, the Head of State felt disturbed and furrowed his brow. Before he would rebuke her, she announced, “The Commandant just informed me that Lt. Col. Smirnoff was rushed to the hospital some minutes ago.”“I jus

At Tim's HouseGeorge returned and met him waiting for him like a young wife waiting for her husband's return. “Good evening, Boss,” he greeted him when he got into the parlor.“Good evening, George. Welcome back.”“Thank you, Boss,” he answered and removed his cap before he sat down.Tim searched his eyes for any form of distress. When he found none, he asked with concern, “How is work?” “Work is fine, Boss. The managers are likely to get buyers to buy the cars off instead of waiting for an auction sale,” he explained.“That would be great. How soon will they do that?”“I will see what happens tomorrow.”“It is all right. What about the Production Department? Have they begun the production of the arms?”George smiled broadly and answered, “Yes, Boss. I worked with them and I learned a lot.”“That is good to hear. You can see that it's necessary to know of it.”“Yes, Boss. I will learn more when we begin production at the basement.”Tim smiled softly and informed him, “I have exhau
